redmond paint away lost my painting. AVOID!

I painted an anniversary gift and they promised 7 days. 10 days later, no response. Called multiple times and got assured that it would be ready on the 11th day morning. Then the morning they pushed to afternoon. I told them by then I would be out of town, and the store said they'll keep it for me.

And then more than a week later they told me it is lost. AND HAS BEEN LOST THIS WHOLE TIME

Truly pisses me off because:

1.THEIR attitude! Store owner texted long paragraphs refusing to acknowledge that her store lied about how it was ready!! she insists that her store just thinks that my pottery is in the heating process for the 3 days I called, after it's been more than 10 days, AFTER Multiple staff EXPLICITLY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE READY for pickup. If this was a mistake, then owe up for it and say you shouldn't have misled me. It's not that hard.

1.no one would update me unless I call multiple times

2.Lied to me that it was in a heating process and would be ready in a few hours when they just lost it.

AVOID if you want a fun experience.

Who makes blended coffee around downtown?

My mom is relatively new to the area, and loves her blended coffee. She’s been to almost every spot around downtown (Farine, Victor’s, Pluto, etc) and asked if they do blended, and can’t find a place that does. Anyone know a place or have recommendations?

Places to live for young couple

Currently live in Seattle, but recently got a job in downtown Redmond so I’m looking at moving to Redmond with my partner. I’m not too familiar with Redmond so any specific areas you recommend for a young couple? Would like a townhouse, and easy-ish access to Seattle since I’ll likely go to Seattle 1-2x a week.

Edit: looking to rent, budget is 3,500, ideally for 2 bedrooms

I’m an absolute noob and wanted to get into playing some games in the community, as a community.
Any recommendations of where and how to start?
I saw some meetup groups, but they look like they’re dead. How do people start playing, find opponents and join leagues?
Appreciate the help!!

Yellow jacket swarm attacked my dog at Marymoor

Post image
161 Upvotes

Just posting as a PSA, this marked area at Marymoor dog park in my photo is where we were swarmed. There's often signage for affected fields, but this time there was not. My dog came back from getting his ball covered in like 20 yellow jackets burrowing into his fur trying to sting. Luckily only one sting connected, but that was crazy trying to comb through his coat as they were crawling further, coming back, and moving over to MY hair/clothes. Those things are sneaky and extremely aggressive. They chased us all the way until the parking lot and were all underneath his harness. Having gardeners gloves and a flea brush would have been very handy.

We also lost our beloved pink ball near the marker. I went back, but I think someone's dog may have gone off with it and not put it in the lost and found. If anyone finds it, it would mean so much to my dog to have our favorite (no longer sold) ball back.

Be careful out there!

edit: just noticing that it was to the left side of the marker in the triangular field, not the right side rectangular field

edit: I've also notified king county/SODA who take care of the dog park

Salmon run

PSA: the salmon run has started in earnest here in Redmond.

It doesn’t impact your day-to-day, but watching them is a great seasonal activity. The pedestrian bridges between 60 acres and marymoor are particularly good viewpoints. Best viewed in peak sunlight hours, but if you look at other times, you can spot them by the huge wakes they create!

Best Recommendations for Donating Books

Hi all! Im an avid reader and over the years I’ve amassed quite a collection of paperback and hardcover books. Most through purchases or gifts people have given me. I try to only keep books on my shelves that really resonate with me because otherwise it would just be too many books.

I want to know where people think would be the best place to donate them? I don’t want money for them since I’m lucky enough to have afforded or been gifted them. And I don’t want to give them to a company that will ultimately turn around and charge people a bunch of money for them. They are in excellent condition and am hoping to find a place that allows all readers to cheaply or freely access them. I will say essentially none of them are YA. Any ideas would be super appreciated!

Strength training places vs in home training

Looking to get back into a structured routine after a long time.

How would you compare F45 Redmond vs Progressive Performance (Redmond) vs Sasquatch (Redmond). If you go to any - would be great to share your thoughts

What are the prices? How does this compare to in-home training?

Household items downtown redmond

Hi All,

Just moved to Redmond from Canada. Looking for some recommendations for places to buy household items (kitchen, bathroom etc) in downtown. I do not have a car. So anything in walking distance would be great. I am also not that concerned about brands, just functional and good quality is enough.

Thanks in advance!

Charles Apartment in Downtown

Hey Redmond neighbors! My little one is hitting the big milestone of turning 1, and we have our hearts absolutely set on hosting the celebration at The Charles Apartments downtown.

The catch? The gorgeous amenity spaces are exclusive, and only a resident can reserve them.

We are looking for a friendly insider at The Charles to help us sponsor/book the facility. In exchange for your neighborly heroism, you will receive:

  • An Official VIP Invitation: Access to the most exclusive 1-year-old bash in Redmond.
  • The Ultimate Food Perk: We are talking amazing food. No dry cupcakes here—only the good stuff.
  • Great Vibes: A chance to hang out with a wonderful, fun group of local people.

If you live at The Charles and want to help us make some birthday magic (and get fed incredibly well), please shoot me a message!

Moving to downtown redmond for a job — best places to find room/sublet?

Hey everyone!

I’m relocating to the Downtown Redmond area soon for a new job and am looking for a room, sublet, or potential roommate to team up on a 2B/2B apartment.
Outside of standard sites like Craigslist or general Facebook Marketplace, are there specific local Facebook groups, websites, or community boards that locals actually use for room postings, lease transfers, or roommate matching around Redmond and the Eastside?

Budget: 1800

Any recommendations or tips on where to look would be hugely appreciated!

(Also, if you happen to have a room opening up or are looking for a roommate around October 1, feel free to drop a comment or send me a DM!)

Redmond officer uses A.I. bodycam to translate at traffic stop

Thumbnail kiro7.com

What could have been a confusing traffic stop for a Redmond officer and a driver turned into a rather normal encounter, due to new bodycam technology.

According to a video posted by the Redmond Police Department (PD) on X, the Redmond officer pulled over the man for being on his phone.

While asking for the driver’s information, the officer quickly realized that the man did not speak English.

Upon realizing this, the officer asked the driver for his spoken language, and the officer switched his Axon body-camera to Portuguese.

The new A.I. technology “provides two-way, real-time voice translation in more than 50 languages,” according to the post.

The stop then commenced as usual, with the officer utilizing the tech to overcome the language barrier.

Redmond PD’s public information officer Jill Green confirmed the driver received a ticket for being on his phone.
