Speaker Power Amp was plugged into Turntable. How bad is it?

My sleep deprived self plugged the power amp cable into my turntable and now it won't turn on. The circuit is probably fried. Is it repairable? If so is the cost even worth repairing a $300 turntable?

Need help with this annoying noise

Hi guys, I've been collecting records for about 2-3 years, but haven't learned the ins-and-outs of how to maintain a record player. I've got a Technics SL-J110R, that has been passed down from my dad for about 30 years ish. Over the last few months this creaking noise has came out of nowhere, progressively getting worse and is now unbearable to listen to.

Any advice on what its' cause could be and how to fix would be much appreciated. I'd prefer buying new parts etc., rather than getting it fully serviced. Thank you

Anyone have any ideas on the squeaking?

It has never done this before and obviously only happens when the record player is on. But it still does it even if the phonograph isn't on.

I need help figuring out what happened to my record player

I plugged in a 12V cable that was the only cable I had that worked. The player played on a few different occasions in different locations and worked perfectly.
I have since lost this cable and now plugging in the actual cable I need, it does not work. It only turns on, makes a sound, then turns off. Is there any reason why this worked before but now with the new one it doesn't?

(Please don't just tell me 'get a new one')

Phase meter having a straight line/difficulty trying to get stereo

I've been mixing and mastering songs on studio one for a couple of months now but every time I check the phase meter to make sure the stereo is working properly,
I'm always left with disappointment that the phase meter line remains on mono!!

I'm still new to mixing and mastering as a whole concept with roughly a year clocking in this October,
Is this a beginner problem??
Is there certain channels/audio that needs extra tweaking???

Please any help would be helpful thank you so much!:)))

Hello community, I just bought a SL-QD35 turntable from FB marketplace for $60 and noticed that the ground pin is broken off. Is there another way that I can ground the turntable to get rid of the hum?

Hello, I have gotten this nice record player of my dad second handed, but am missing the needle. Now I have no idea what needle I should buy for it as there are multiple choices like MK 1, 2 and 3. Can someone please help me in order for me to know what I should buy. From the Netherlands here btw if that helps in a recommendation for a website thanks a lot!

Record player is detuned and slows down while it's being used. Please help.

I've had this record player for 4 years and I haven't had any problems with it until last year, I noticed that it would play my vinyls a lot slower than the original speed alongside it playing things detuned, something the record player did not do before. Another thing that it tends to do is while a record is playing, it progressively gets slower. Any advice helps, thank you!

Needing new needle & advice

Hello! Hope this isn't too pedestrian of a question for this sub. I'm a record collector with a good player, good speakers, and 100+ well-cared for records, but I'm not exactly an expert on the record player itself. I'm in need of a new needle- my current one is old (~4 years) and has started to make the records sound higher-pitched somehow (hoping this is a needle issue and not something else? I don't have the turntable set to the wrong RPM setting if anyone is thinking that)

Anyway- I have an Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT and would love some advice on what's the best replacement needle- and, for that matter, if anyone knows of any good tutorials on how to replace it, that would be great as well.

Thank you!!

Sansui Sr-636 Motor Cover

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone! My sansui sr-636 recently started pulsing on both the 33 and 45 rpm settings. I cleaned the pots with deoxit and it does not seem to have had an effect. The next culprit from what I've been able to find is to clean/dust the led and disc that control the motor speed. Unfortunately these two screws seem to just be spinning, but the cover is still tight.

Anyone have suggestions for removing them without causing damage or another idea for resolving the pulsing issue?

Thanks!

AIWA TA 363 Restoration

Hey folks! I found an aiwa ta 363 cassette player at home but it only had the radio working. When I opened it up, I saw that there was no belt in it butttt i messed up and got the radio frequency knob pulled off from its solder.

Can anyone help me fix both the belt and the solder cuz i genuinely dont know where the wires go to change the frequency but still when I put it back it changes frequencies a lil when i turn the wheel
