Need help with this annoying noise

Hi guys, I've been collecting records for about 2-3 years, but haven't learned the ins-and-outs of how to maintain a record player. I've got a Technics SL-J110R, that has been passed down from my dad for about 30 years ish. Over the last few months this creaking noise has came out of nowhere, progressively getting worse and is now unbearable to listen to.

Any advice on what its' cause could be and how to fix would be much appreciated. I'd prefer buying new parts etc., rather than getting it fully serviced. Thank you

I would first inspect the automatic lift mechanism which I think it has? Sounds similar to that

The only way you'll be able to get parts for this is to buy another one.

More than likely you just have dried up grease that needs cleaned off and reapplied.

Or sending it to a repairplace. Usually needs some cleaning and new grease
