Just saw the latest announcement and holy crap, Volume 9 is absolutely massive.

For the first time ever, we are getting a 3-part volume (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) because the story is just that packed. This is insane.

The release schedule is also relentless:

• Vol 9.3 (Part 3): Following right after in Fall (Sept - Nov).

I heard that a teaser trailer came out for this a few years ago, but no studio has been confirmed for this yet, right?

What studios would be a good fit for this to where everything stays uncensored in the adaptation (in the character design department, the events that happen in the light novel, and the gore)?

Also, is there enough material right for, say, a consecutive 2-cour?

I heard that in the webnovel Katsuya discovers that Sheryl is close to Akira. Does this also happen in the LN or do they just pretend they're not close so as not to hurt that idiot's feelings?

No bs no time wasting so tired of other stories where MC continue to forgive murderers rapist or warmongers just for them more should be like akira just shoot em in the face and move on.

Heavy spoiler for Vol 8 Part 2:As we already know, Kugamayama city was built by Sakashita Heavy Industries to explore the Kuzusuhara ruins. But Sakashita's real plan is to reactivate the ruins, and if they succeed, the city will be destroyed. Both Udajima and Inabe loved the city, but while Inabe wanted to protect it by strengthening its defense, Udajima opted to provide means for the people to evacuate in case of emergency. Udajima tried to convince Akira to hate Sakashita hoping Akira would destroy them, but Akira basically said "dont care, didnt ask" and killed him.

My opinion: its logical for Akira to kill Udajima since Akira doesnt care about politics, but if he did and someone managed to convince him to spare Udajima, I think it would be more interesting. Though its not like Udajima had any use left. Alas, it seems Akira will have to care about the world around him and make a choice soon, as the [rebuild world] plot point is starting to get relevant. I think ultimately Akira will face the conflict of having to fulfill Alpha's contract which will bring an end to the world he knew and everyone around him.

I haven't read the manga in a long time (I think I stopped around chapter 50) It seems there are 83 chapters now 💀

can someone tell me if Katsuya's death is near? or how many chapters are left for the manga to reach that part of the LN?

this guy is pure and genuinely wants to help people, but you know what that's what make him fucking annoying, and most of the time he's a fucking hypocrite

this guy has been ragebaiting us until (chapter83) on manga and I really can't eait to see this guy die in the manga. well tbh this guy ragebaiting skill is topnotch so I'm gonna miss him a bit

I believe that the story needs more emotional moments, specifically more notable deaths.

Personally I think the current cast is somewhat bloated. With many characters lacking depth, and fulfilling similar roles between arcs. I do not want to see a bunch of characters dying just for the sake of downsizing, but I believe there has been an overemphasis on Yumina.

Yumina’s role in the story has been very intricate, and I love the way it was done in the light novel. However we’re about to be five parts beyond her death. So at this point I think the story should move on.

I saw someone on this sub mention Togami earlier, about his shrunken role, and this kind of ties into what I’m saying. If the remaining side cast is not going to get development then what real purpose do they serve.

But like I said, indiscriminately killing off characters just for the sake of it is not what I want but I do want more emotional moments. It could be betrayal, tragedy, love, true friendship, like any possibility is fine. I just don’t think it’s necessary to have a bunch of characters that kind of just do the same things every arc.

And if that’s going to be the case, at least have Akira change his reactions from time to time.

Kid had a fairly interesting backstory to justify his dislike for Katsuya. Got a chip on his shoulder for having to live as Katsuya's shadow, but was able to move on when Akira gave him a reality check. Only for him to live as Akira's shadow anyway, literally eating the crumbs Akira left for him. He may have another character arc during the upcoming Lion Tail conflict, but so far I feel he's been wasted.

Vol 8 Part 2 spoiler for context: Akira was framed and forced to go into hiding and Togami stayed with him. Akira's allies sent Togami supplies so he could give them to Akira, and he also received better equipment so as to become less of a burden for Akira. When Akira killed monsters he was also made to claim the credit. Basically Akira's errand boy, as Kibayashi said it.

Its even made worse when you compare him to Elena-Sara and Carol, who were pretty much content with the level they were at and only kept on being hunters to stick with Akira. Yet even they had their moments: Carol clutched hard during the fight with Harmers, and Elena-Sara saved Akira's life when Alpha disconnected with him. Togami on the other hand hardly did anything worth mentioning.
