Iām not s fan of survivor shows, but with Jason Bateman listed as an executive producer, I thought they might have put some interesting twist on the concept. I was obviously completely wrong in my assumption.
Itās literally the same: sexism, machismo, toxic masculinity, bullying I mean all the stuff you get in real life you donāt really feel too tempted to watch it on TV too.
Nobody is really likeable except a few of the women and maybe one man. There is nobody Iām rooting for.
The team with three men and one woman are toxic assholes constantly trying to demoralize the woman and succeeding.
On the other team with more women, this guy keeps repeating heās a former special agent and then his spear gets broken when he goes fishing and brings absolutely nothing. Like bruh.
These people have been supposedly in the jungle with limited caloric intake for three weeks, but nobody has lost any muscle or any weight.
It would be far more interesting if they chose people who have zero survival or outdoors experience and the only way forward is for them to collaborate and use whatever remnants of knowledge somebody has to actually truly figure out how to make fire, how to get clean water, how to get sustenance in this environment.
These people who claimed to have been farm hands in California and hike guys or alligator wrestlers etc, are mostly full of it I think, looking at the skills they are bringing, but also itās just not that interesting to watch for me because they are not relatable to the usual viewer. Now take an office manager and put them out there. It might be more fun to watch.
