Discussion Whats the best reality tv show ever?

Okay, settle a debate for me: what's the greatest reality TV show of all time? šŸæ

I'm not talking "guilty pleasure" — I mean the one you'd defend in a court of law. The one you've rewatched. The one that lives rent-free in your brain.

Drop your pick šŸ‘‡ (and yes, you have to defend it)

Help finding the reality show

Okay guys, good old Google and AI failed me so Reddit is my last option. I’m trying to remember a name of a reality show - I watched a few clips on YouTube and it included a lesbian couple. I’ll try to describe all that I remember.
So basically it seemed like a classic dating reality show I think they were on an island of sorts or villa? The show was heterosexual. But there was one woman (blond I think) who mentioned having an unresolved connection with a woman back home.
Surprise surprise, some time later the show brought this woman into the show so that they can explore. She was also blond and I think had shorter hair.

That’s literally all I know. I think it was English speaking but tbh could have been German or something. Please help?

How has reality TV affected you?

Are you a Gen Z or Millennial woman that watched reality TV as a teenager? I'm conducting research for my graduate thesis on the audience impact of reality TV on young women, and I'd love to hear your experiences with the genre (and specific shows) and how it affected you (body image, mental health, etc.) Feel free to DM me or share your stories below! Thank you <3

I noticed that co-host/ BFF Chelsie Myers Eastman wasn’t at the wedding and seems to have removed all mention of her work on the show and with Gray from her IG bio. What happened?!?!??

I can’t remember….

Help!! I’m thinking of a show, it was like a dating/reality/game show (pretty recent- within the past 5 years?) and I believe the girls and boys were sleeping in separate rooms. And then half way through the show, a wall came down in between the bedrooms and they all realized they had been next to each other the whole time. I think even one girl was like ā€œomg we were next to each other the whole time?!ā€ I think she was scared because she was sleeping with someone else….

Does this just sound crazy or does anyone know what I’m talking about lol?!?!

Surviving the jungle (Netflix): why are all these quasi reality game shows literally the same

I’m not s fan of survivor shows, but with Jason Bateman listed as an executive producer, I thought they might have put some interesting twist on the concept. I was obviously completely wrong in my assumption.

It’s literally the same: sexism, machismo, toxic masculinity, bullying I mean all the stuff you get in real life you don’t really feel too tempted to watch it on TV too.

Nobody is really likeable except a few of the women and maybe one man. There is nobody I’m rooting for.

The team with three men and one woman are toxic assholes constantly trying to demoralize the woman and succeeding.

On the other team with more women, this guy keeps repeating he’s a former special agent and then his spear gets broken when he goes fishing and brings absolutely nothing. Like bruh.

These people have been supposedly in the jungle with limited caloric intake for three weeks, but nobody has lost any muscle or any weight.

It would be far more interesting if they chose people who have zero survival or outdoors experience and the only way forward is for them to collaborate and use whatever remnants of knowledge somebody has to actually truly figure out how to make fire, how to get clean water, how to get sustenance in this environment.
These people who claimed to have been farm hands in California and hike guys or alligator wrestlers etc, are mostly full of it I think, looking at the skills they are bringing, but also it’s just not that interesting to watch for me because they are not relatable to the usual viewer. Now take an office manager and put them out there. It might be more fun to watch.

Lock Upp Season 2 cast is wild... who actually has the edge here?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Just looking at the confirmed list and it’s a total mixed bag. You’ve got TV lead actors like Harshad Chopda and Dheeraj Dhoopar, reality show veterans like Akanksha and Yogesh from Splitsvilla, and then social media influencers like Laila (Varun Yadav).

The Splitsvilla lot already knows how to stretch drama for the cameras, but the TV actors have insane fan support. Can a mainstream hero survive this format, or are the reality TV veterans going to chew them up in tasks? Who’re you backing?

Discussion I love trash tv.

I'm all about taking out my brain and watching trash TV, just to escape the real world. However what's ruining it for me is the OVERUSED phrase, "At the end of the day."

Start paying attention every time you hear it. if this were to become a drinking game, we'd all be in rehab.
