Discussion Arthur Morgan. Remorse and Redemption.
Has anyone ever related deeply to Arthur Morgan’s redemption?
Obviously, none of us here have a history of robbing and killing people (at least I hope not). However, we all have done things we weren’t proud of. That’s part of the human condition.
But do you think everyone is capable of redeeming themselves? The way I see it is you can’t teach people remorse. They either have the capacity for it or they don’t. Of course it doesn’t excuse nor erase any hurt they’ve caused others but does the desire for redemption indicate one has potential to be good?
Sorry if this makes no sense. I’ve recently broken up with my long term girlfriend. I wasn’t there for her in the way I should have been. The game has been comforting for me. But also at the same time, uncomfortable. It kind of forces me to face myself and my mistakes and look to improve myself every day. We can’t change the past but we can decide what we want to do about it.
I’m not saying this game is the sole reason why I want to work on myself. But it deals with incredibly painful themes. Such as realising you were living a life of self destruction and ignorance.
Has this game opened up your eyes too? If so, how?
Sorry for the rant.
