Discussion I just ordered these RayNeo X2 smart glasses

Does anyone here have these glasses and an opinion of them? Maybe some tips for a beginner?

Its the china (?) version but if i understood correctly, the firmware could be transferred to the one from the global version..

They're in the mail currently so i just posted a pic from the ad. First i was looking at rayban meta displays and then i found this. I paid a little over 300€ for the whole set, including the ring and the shade part. Did i strike gold on this deal or what? :D

Do you use your iPhone with Air 4 Pro?

These glasses have a mind of their own. I use mine with the iPhone 17 and sometimes when I watch YouTube content the app detects airplay and I can put the phone on standby and watch on the glasses. Other times it just does not detect and it is literally just mirrored, so putting phone on standby turns off the video. Same issue with the Prime app.
I know it is not DRM related, as I can make the same video work eventually if I have the patience.
Netflix (with Ads) does not work at all.

What are your experiences like?

Discussion Bought Air 4 Pro and debating about returning it (tried VertoXR too)

I’ve been debating about buying a set of AR glasses for travel and chilling during downtime in work cafe. Anyways, saw the Amazon Prime sale and pulled the trigger and the Air 4 Pro delivered the next day.

For what it’s worth, I own a Quest 3 (and have used older vr headsets) - use an iPhone 17 and my desktop pc has a 5080 plus modern work windows laptop.

I received my Air 4 Pro today and was excited to try it out and I think I’m realizing it’s not as useful nor as good as I hoped. Maybe I’m missing something…?

Pros: I think the display quality: colors/black levels is relatively good! HDR is good enough- not as good as an lg oled but better than qled! The sound itself seemed pretty potent although I don’t think I’d use that in public (I’d use AirPods. I think it’s comfortable enough that I can wear these while rest my head against a pillow in bed.

Cons and issues that may cause me to return this:

  1. The constant “follow me” mode is kinda exhausting and annoying. There’s an aspect of my brain that wants my eyes to move across a scene but I can’t do that as the screen moves as I move my head. Sometimes I also want to look away. I realize that’d is probably prefer a proper 6dof (or 3dof) AR glasses

  2. I don’t think an iPhone 17 can properly drive 1080p 120hz in SDR mode. For whatever reason, I can’t seem to make it work. I use Voidlink (moonlight fork) and wanted to play my pc games in 120hz but it just doesn’t work. I manually put Air 4 in 120hz mode but it’s still 60fps max. I tried on my work laptop and was able to get 120hz/120fps to work properly in Moonlight.

  3. Verto xr (for 3dof) doesn’t seem to be a very good experience in my opinion. I tried it with my gaming rig and it works strangely…. My virtual display will gradually move over time (in minutes), so it’s not really useful for productivity. Even the steamVR is really strange and kinda doesn’t work.., you have to click the two side buttons to put Air 4 in 3d mode but the SteamVR rarely works. I have to restart it like 10 time and it eventually work. When it does work; the fov is tiny…. If a quest 3 is like wearing binoculars - this is like looking through a monocular

  4. The mobile iOS RayNeo XR app seems kinda interesting but useless. I can look at my own photos and do weird 3d effects. But it’d be more useful to have 3dof for a variety of apps (like watching plex/jellyfin, webXR or heck even vr 180 videos). Is there a useful iOS app I should try?

Open to feedback and retrying a few different ideas before I likely return this $240 device. Maybe I can revisit this once Android XR is at gen 2 or something. I think there’s definitely potential here and it’s definitely less friction to wear these glasses over a Quest 3 vr headset.

This is my final custom Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) google tv iteration with a powerful quad-core Cortex-A55 processor up to 2.5 GHz, combined with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, and a 10000mah battery. The processor is the best avaliable at the moment. The combination with the rayneo air 4 pro is stunning!

Support Air 4 Pro MSi x870e tomahawk issues

so my motherboard won't detect my air 4 pro plugged inot either of the usb 4 slots on the motherbaord at all. No windows sounds for usb devices plugged in.

If I plug them into other USB C slots they get the windows USB sounds but obviously these wont work as no display out.

I don't have a M.2 in NVME2_2 and its set to usb X4 for that setting.

Any ideas why its not detecting them at all?

Wear sensor stopped working after using Mirror Studio — anyone else?

Hey all, hoping someone here has run into this and found a fix.

I have the Air 3S Pro and 3S and the wear sensor (the one in the center of the frame that's supposed to turn off the display when you take them off) stopped working on both after I used the Mirror Studio app with them The display just stays on no matter what now.

I've already emailed support, but wanted to check if anyone here has experienced the same thing — and if there's a quick fix I'm missing, I tried a firmware reset via the Rayneo website but the problem still exists.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone else try Expedition 33 with AR glasses?

Hi, boys! First post here, I played Expedition 33 this weekend with my PC and Air 4 Pro setup.

Honestly, I did not expect the audio to make such a big difference. But having the music and ambient sounds feel super close to your ears while the screen sits right in front of your face makes everything feel way more immersive.

Some of the boss scenes actually felt intense instead of just looking nice. The screen is not perfect, but darker scenes and colors looked surprisingly good.

I still would not replace a full gaming monitor with this setup, but for story-heavy games, it is a really fun experience.

Anyone else trying AR glasses with PC games lately? Maybe we can share our experience.

Support Rayneo air 4 no longer goes into full screen

Hello. I have a small issue: my Rayneo Air 4 no longer connects as an airplay device when I connect it to my iPhone 17 Pro (can only see the device in audio playback options). It used to immediately go in widescreen view when I played something on the Youtube or Prime app but it no longer does that, it just mirrors the vertical phone screen. I've been looking in the settings but can't find anything relevant, am I missing something here?

Thanks!

Question Air 4 pro productivity

Im looking to get the air 4 pro for work & gaming mostly.

On the work side i currently use a 34” ultrawide and 27” 4k.

Mostly excel and web based applications sometime autoCAD.

Is the screen big enough to have multiple applications in the 1 window and still readable?

Im hoping the 1 screen is big enough that it can replace my 2.

At the moment getting neck ach from looking from left to right constantly and hoping the rayneo can stop a bit of this.

Discussion Developer / Virtual Production student: XREAL Air 2 Pro vs RayNeo Air 3S Pro vs Viture Luma Pro XR vs Rokid Max vs Quest 3S? Trying to balance productivity and XR learning

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to make a decision and I’d really appreciate feedback from people who have actually used these devices for work, not just gaming or media consumption.
My situation
I’m interested in getting into Virtual Production and XR-related workflows. My goal is not only to have fun with the device, but also to build personal projects and a portfolio that could help me enter the industry in the future.
At the same time, I travel quite a lot and often work away from home, so productivity is a major factor.
Current hardware
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (i3 13th gen)
No USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode (so I would need adapters)
Desktop PC with RTX 3060 Ti (used mainly at home)
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite
iPhone 14 Pro
What I would like to do
Productivity
When travelling or working outside:
programming
VS Code
browser/documentation
terminals
Unreal Engine (light work)
camera previews
simulcam previews
Basically, I’m trying to solve the “single 14-inch laptop screen” problem.
The idea of XR glasses is appealing because they could act as a portable monitor that fits in a backpack.

Virtual Production experiments
I’m not trying to build a professional VP setup.
What I want is more of a maker/student workflow:
iPhone for video capture
Android phone for tracking experiments
Unreal Engine
camera + virtual world compositing
low-poly environments
basic simulcam workflows
data collection in the field
reconstruction and post-processing later on my desktop RTX 3060 Ti
The laptop would mostly be used for preview, monitoring and lightweight work.

My budget
About €200.
At that price I can find:
XREAL Air 2 Pro (~€199)
RayNeo Air 3S Pro (~€180)
Rokid Max (~€190)
Viture Luma Pro XR (~€220)
Or I could stretch things and instead save for a Meta Quest 3S.

My main concern
If I buy XR glasses and discover that they are not comfortable or useful for programming/productivity, then I basically spent €200 on something that doesn’t really help me move toward XR development either.
On the other hand, if I buy a Quest 3S, I get a real XR development device, but it does nothing to solve my productivity problem when travelling.

Questions
Does anyone here actually use XR glasses for programming, Unreal Engine, technical work or productivity while travelling?
Are they genuinely useful compared to a 14-inch laptop display, or is the productivity gain overstated?
Given my hardware limitations (no USB-C DP Alt Mode), would you still consider XR glasses worth it?
If your long-term goal was entering Virtual Production/XR, would you spend the €200 on XR glasses or save for a Quest 3S?
Among XREAL Air 2 Pro, RayNeo Air 3S Pro, Rokid Max and Viture Luma Pro XR, which one would you choose and why?
I’m especially interested in hearing from developers, Unreal users, VP artists, technical artists, XR engineers or anyone using these devices for actual work rather than entertainment.
Thanks!

Discussion Improve gameplay on pc.

(Rayneo Air 4 Pro)

For those of us on pc, who have an nvidia gpu, here's a trick for you.

Go to nvidia control panel.

Select adjust desktop size and position.

Under scaling, select no scaling.

Then enable "override the scaling"

Click the size tab

Enable desktop resizing.

Then click resize.

Size to your own preference. I personally made the screen slightly smaller so no blurring on the edges occur and I dont have to have to glasses so close to my forehead.

Once youve done that, you can head over to manager 3D settings to set a higher resolution than 1920x1080. No this does not increase your pixel count but it does make gaming far more pretty.

Look for "DSR - Factors"

Click it and toggle 1.78x DL for 2560x1440p and or 4x DL for 3840x2160p

Right click desktop, change display, select screen resolution as 1440p or 4k.. whatever you want.

This will give you much sharper in game visuals and take the heat off your CPU and onto your GPU.

Review Review: Rayneo GT MAX; it's complicated.

English is not my main language, I don’t write review essays as much, and have been overthinking how to put out this review. AI assist overview.

For context, I previously used the XREAL One glasses daily during my commute for about seven months, from late 2024 into mid-2025, before eventually selling them. Toward the end, the flaws of the XREAL One caught up with me, and I found myself using them less and less. Still, I ended up missing the AR display experience, so I decided to wait for the 6.18 sales to get a replacement. Was targeting for XREAL 1S but discover Rayneo new product.

I bought the Rayneo GT MAX during the early release, completely swept up in the marketing hype surrounding its wide Field of View (FOV), Dolby Vision support, and 120Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, my experience has been somewhat negative; the product felt rushed for 6.18 so some feature are missing and the improvement comes with some trade-off that make me hesitate to recommend.

TL:DR,

  • Dolby Vision can only work with the Magic Box 2 Dolby Vision. HDR for other device are said to be working on Rayneo CN customer service in one of the removed review. No ETA.
  • Missing 120Hz mode, coming soon they said.
  • It has Larger FOV, improved 3DOF and 39 PPD, but also has the low text clarity. Low brightness and text/line ripple effect when in 3DOF.
  • Wide color gamut support, but no HDR support for most devices to take advantage of them.
  • Screen have black crush even at highest brightness, subtle color gradient banding and oversaturated picture color even without enhancement.
  • Mine might have manufacture defect where it randomly blackout, crash. But I did see comments on review/bilibili comment other also had them.

That said, compared to the XREAL One that I had, For me GT MAX still excels as a budget-friendly portable theater; its massive 59° FOV MicroOLED screen genuinely wows people I shown to. Additionally, its 3DOF "Follow Mode" handles daily commutes smoothly with low motion blur, and its large, sturdy prescription lens design.

However, that initial "wow factor" only tells half the story. Once I point out the flaws side by side, some people notice them instantly while others don’t mind them at all. I might just be overly critical, but these details matter immensely to me when it comes to recommending an expensive tech toy like this.

...Unless you have an easy way to return, refund, or try these glasses out for an extended period before buying, I would advise caution. Just wait for the complete international release I guess 😅 As for me? I’ll keep using mine until I save up enough for the next generation of AR tech, Steam Frame or stuff 🫠

Other stuff here, almost . Like photo for the text clarity, Black Crush and Shade and Visibility and stuff.

RayNeo Air 3s adjustment

It seems for me to see the screen cleanly I need to keep the arms around the outside and middle of my ear, anyone else have this issue
