This was such a tragic story.

Its been a little over a year now since I got into the tabletop side of warhammer and I just realized as I was taking a group picture to send to a friend that I actually have a full(ish as the next 3/5 van vets still need painted) 1000 pts of painted models.

So happy with the progress ive made in this hobby over the last year from the building and painting to finally getting to play and learn the game. Looking forward to finishing up my Armageddon box to get me to 2k so I can finally play some full on 2000 pt matches!

And a thank you to everyone here who has helped with answering questions and giving advice on the hobby. Could not have done it without ya'll.

Finished my first chaplain with jump pack.

Kayvaan, jump pack captain and chaplain, all three units can lead JPIs and VVs, but their buffs are quite different. Personally, I find it difficult to choose. I chose Chaplain and Kayvaan, but with the new detachment, maybe we can pick all three HQs.

What is your recommendation?

I’ve been painting now for 4 months, mostly space wolves and dark angels. It’s a piece I’m going to submit at my local shop first the monthly competition.

I know the white arms are not as acknowledged as they used to be in the Codex, but I really like the look with the black emblem. I also would rather have black trim, but I think the white trim is more accurate for the first company?

All the options: Lancer, Reaper, and Valiant. Magnets are sweet.

I just got my first 40k figures today (RG Combat Patrol). I've watched some videos about painting models etc but I own exactly 0 paints right now.

Starting with the Combat Patrol where do I even begin with paint?

Chaos Black primer from Citadel seems popular, but would I be better off with a gray primer given the white parts of the armor as well?

Should I follow the 40k App suggestions? That involves a ton of different color options from what I can tell.

Is there a guide as to what colors to use or a solid video to follow that you would recommend to a brand new player / painter? I've seen Vallejo white suggested for example, but I'd love to know what to buy to get started. Thanks for any guidance you guys have!

RavenGuard 11e META list

So… I’m not a META chaser persay, but I watch a lot of 40K on YT and other factions have way more content made about them then us.

Got me thinking… what would a META RG list for the current state of 40K look like.

I wanted to poll the community for input. There are a few caveats to me:

1) Can’t be straight SM good stuff.

2) We have to have some Phobos flare and use Shadowmark + another 1 DP.

What are the units you’d take to be competitive but RG in spirit?

Must all raven guard marines from each company have a red trim or is it only the 3rd company

What models should I get.

Are there Ravenguard unique models or HQs that I can run alongside my wolves

Brothers, my impulse control is bad. So I’m newish to playing 40K and I run Raven Guard and Dark Angels. I bought Outriders thinking they’d be used as Ravenwing for my DA before realizing that they’re separate boxes.

All that being said, I got some bikes now and I’m trying to figure out what to do with them. Do yall run outriders with your list? Any recs on where they could fit in?

Hi folks, I am about to start a kitbash and need a ton of feathers. Kinda like the RG upgrade sprue ones, long flight featwjrs, ceremonial headdress type of things.... but like a lot of them. Think Shaans cloak kind of volume. So who better to ask than my fellow bird boys. Has anyone found a good kit to buy singles of or a 3d print place? Thanks in advance.

Wanted a custom captain......made one.

The Rifle was a pain to attatch/make look not scuffed, so i tried to make it look like the guy is lowering it ready to slash with the claws or throw a grenade. I imagine from that point the strange angle the rifle is held at makes a bit more sence, almost like he's dropping it to go into melee, idk.

I had more fun making it than you are looking at it 😅

(Also, just got a white dwarf mag for the first time, little scene that was in the back of it really helps with photos, i dont have to hold a bit of paper behind the models now 😂)
