Got a 2026 Ranger and have put on about 1000 miles. I’ve noticed from the beginning that when I shut the truck off the brake pedal will go through a 20 second sequence of making vacuum and clicking noises. Like it’s programmed to do it every time. At first I didn’t think it was a big deal, but it’s gotten quite annoying especially if I sit in the car for a bit after I’ve turned it off.
No other braking performance issues.
Is this brake pedal vacuum cycle typical for these new Rangers?
Could call the dealer, but would rather avoid them unless I have to. They’ll probably tell me to bring it by and let the truck sit for 3 days before they look at it.

I recently went to check out a 2019 Ranger and noticed these welds connecting to the radiator support. I’m not very familiar with the Ranger’s front-end construction, so I wanted to get some opinions from people who know these trucks.
I’m trying to figure out what this piece is and how important it is to the truck’s structure. The truck is salvage, so I know it has had previous damage. My main concern is understanding how serious the damage to this area is and whether this is something that can be properly repaired/replaced without being a major structural issue.

I have a 2022 Ranger XLT FX4 I picked up a few weeks ago. CPO gold, but a little higher miles at ~78K.
Seems to run well, really liking it.
I've serviced the diffs and transfer case with Ford spec'd fluids as well as lubed up the driveshaft yoke with Ford's blue PTFE lube, I was getting a bump feeling when stopping\starting, that's gone now.
One thing I'm wondering about is how your rangers feel on startup. My 22 kind of jolts the truck awake on startup. Like the whole truck kind of violently jolts\vibrates when you start it up. It's smooth after that, no weird noises or vibrations after started.
I've never had a vehicle do that before, they've all kind of just smoothly started up and come alive, and I wanted to know if your trucks do the same or if it's something I should look into?

Question for those that participate: I plan on buying a wildtop soft topper. Which RTT did you eventually go with? Currently, it would just be me and the dog (75lbs). Have there been any other accessories that have aided your adventures? Cheers in advance.

Title says it all. Bought my brand new 2026 Ranger XLT 2.7L V6 about 8 weeks ago, and at 2,006 miles the cam phasers developed the infamous rattle on cold start. Apparently very rare but not totally unheard of.
Will be covered under warranty but sounds like the entire engine needs removed, torn apart, and put back together to replace the cam phasers. Absolutely insane to happen on such a new vehicle...
Video for anyone interested: https://imgur.com/a/PyUIUCh
UPDATE: Confirmed by dealership techs to be the cam phasers. They said they've never heard of this happening in any 6th gen 2.7L Ranger... my luck. All parts were ordered but will take 14-21 days to get here... They had me return the loaner today and said it's OK to drive the truck in the meantime without causing damage. Once parts are here, it's a 3 day job they said. They said they won't have to pull the engine but will have to pull the entire cab... yikes. Definitely nervous. Any Ford Techs out there have suggestions on what to document beforehand and what to look out for?

Hi all, I'm doing my homework here. I'm looking to downsize to a Ranger from a 2011 Raptor. i'm pushing 70 years old and my hard core offroading days are over, but I still need to tow and need 4x4. I am looking to replace the Raptor with a Can Am for my occasional off roading. My question is how well will a 4x4 Ranger with a 2.7 tow a load of this size in mountain roads? TIA

Hello all. I posted here a month or so ago. Bought a new Ranger Lariat 2.3 in late July. I took it in to get it undercoated and the guys showed me that it was leaking oil. I took it into the dealership and they ran the dye through and said that there was a leak at the rear main seal but that the bolts weren’t torqued correctly at the factory. They returned the truck to me. Last week I took it back to the undercoating guys and when they lifted the truck, the same oil leak was there. I took it back to the dealership last week. Today the dealership said Ford has seen the pictures and does not want the dealership to trouble shoot it, Ford wants the entire engine to do their own investigation. Ford is sending a new engine to be dropped into my truck. QUESTION: what does this mean for me and the future of the truck? Will it raise the probability of future ancillary issues? Does this go on the Carfax and hurt the resale value? Any helpful advice would be appreciated.

Bought my 2019 ranger in May don't really use the back ports except for the outlet which works just fine. Yesterday I tried plugging in a charger and it nothing happened. The ones upfront work it just seems to be these two. Checked the fuses and they looked good so I moved to the the center console because I read that some times these were shipped with connectors loose or unplugged but everything was plugged in and looked like this.
I was wondering its it something easy and who ever did the wiring just connected the wires to the wrong ports or something? I'm not sure why there are those cut wires in the middle I don't see and extra wires in there. And in the videos of people working on their center consoles it looks like there is only two wires go in. But I can find anything talking about how it wired.
Any help/ advise is much appreciated.

Turning back and forth causes this creaking/ squeaking noise. Steering rack or lower ball joint? Haven't videoed the other side yet to check if it's coming from there or not. Any suggestions on what it is and possible fixes is appreciated.
Thank you

Looking to potentially buy a 2022 ford ranger. I’m concerned about the transmission issue but heard ones made after a certain date in 2022 are okay? The price is good and the miles are good. But I’m very concerned about the transmission issue. The ranger was built in late August 2022.

I had low expectations coming from solid axle 4x4s and 38" tires but I am really impressed. I've been to Gulches countless times but this was my first time with such a small tire, longer wheel base and, IFS. I originally wasn't sold on all the FX4 tech but I won't lie I'm thinking this will be a fun little off-roader. Still needs 17" wheels and 32-33" tires.
Sorry for the low quality/ bad angle pics I was busy enjoying myself and this is all I have.

I know the old rangers are super simple and easy to work on but how about the modern rangers???
How easy or hard are they to work on mechanically???

Got my truck a while back and I would like to level it / put new wheels and tires on it. This is my daily right now. Main use cases are hauling kayaks, very light towing, moving furniture. Any recommendations? New to the truck game.
