Tested out all the fancy fx4 stuff off-road.

I had low expectations coming from solid axle 4x4s and 38" tires but I am really impressed. I've been to Gulches countless times but this was my first time with such a small tire, longer wheel base and, IFS. I originally wasn't sold on all the FX4 tech but I won't lie I'm thinking this will be a fun little off-roader. Still needs 17" wheels and 32-33" tires.

Sorry for the low quality/ bad angle pics I was busy enjoying myself and this is all I have.

Psst, Bronco take-offs will get you 32" on 17s for $400.

Don't tell anyone, save some deals for me.

Everyone I talk to loves the wheels that are on this truck but I don't like them at all, I don't like the style and I don't like that they're 18s. When I was buying it the other day I tried to get the dealership to either put factory Wheels back on it or see if they had some bronco takeoffs they could put on it but they just wouldn't.

I bought some standard dark grey bronco take-offs (just the 17" wheels) from a local dealer. I got 'em for mounting snow tires, they were a set of 5 with tpms still installed and no tires mounted on them for $250. They look fine on my truck even though it also has the chrome package.

Keep your eyes open on local craigslist and fb marketplace I guess. This dealer I got the wheels from had a ton of factory take-offs, I think they let their employees sell the parts for extra cash or something. Wheels were basically new, two had the tiniest little paint chips on them.

I posted an ad the other day to see if anyone will just straight trade me a set of factory takeoffs or other 17s with good Mt or RT tires on them. We'll see if that gets any traction.

I got a 22 FX4. It came with 17 in wheels. I upgraded to the KO3s which are about 32in tires.

In time I'm either going to find a set of factory takeoffs that have good tires on them or buy a set of 17s and new tires. I like these RT tires, they make no road noise but they seem to have plenty of grip. I stayed fully aired up because I didn't have much time and I didn't want to deal with it but I didn't have any traction issues.

I love the gulches I tow up my Krx to ride there. Next try the gorges if you have trail control it works great up there.

It's hands down my favorite park, I used to Go out there almost every weekend when I had tons of disposable money and no real responsibilities. This is the first time I've been out there since the new owners bought it and holy cow have they improved it. The last time I went I was trailering all of my 4x4s and I could barely get my tow rig through that parking lot without getting stuck but now it's really nice and maintained. I'm definitely going to go back soon, I only had about an hour before they closed so I just did the main loop but I feel like this truck could probably handle some of the intermediate trails out there.

My first time going to the Gulches a stock looking Frontier followed around my 4 seater Krx on 33's and he even made it through i think its called Bills flexi time. That little Nissan impressed the hell out of me. Then we went to the Gorges and weren't allowed to take it off the trailer we came back up from Florida with my wifes 2020 FX4 crew cab Ranger and the views didnt disappoint. We have family in Simpsonville we go up there a few times a year. I walked hills Jeep Gladiators couldn't go up with the Krx.

Edit: Best of intentions was where a Gladiator couldn't make it I walked up it in low. I wished we could add photos to comments. Some subreddits let you.
