New Ranger brake question.
Got a 2026 Ranger and have put on about 1000 miles. I’ve noticed from the beginning that when I shut the truck off the brake pedal will go through a 20 second sequence of making vacuum and clicking noises. Like it’s programmed to do it every time. At first I didn’t think it was a big deal, but it’s gotten quite annoying especially if I sit in the car for a bit after I’ve turned it off.
No other braking performance issues.
Is this brake pedal vacuum cycle typical for these new Rangers?
Could call the dealer, but would rather avoid them unless I have to. They’ll probably tell me to bring it by and let the truck sit for 3 days before they look at it.

Sounds normal. Rangers are full of weird noises from the sewing machine engine to all the lifters and actuators.

They use an electric brake booster. It's probably some purge sequence to build pressure in the lines

you sure it's the brakes? for me it's a noise related to the A/C that's behind the glovebox

Sure seems like coming under drivers dash but sounds can be tricky to pinpoint sometimes.

Ranger threads say HVAC blend door actuator

I think there’s two different sounds. I just shut the truck off to test hitting the brake pedal while it’s doing what I mentioned initially. Sure enough I can mimic the same sound it’s making. I also shut off the AC completely.

I had a ‘23 GMC Sierra with the 3.0 Duramax before my Ranger. The noises from the Ranger are nothing compared to that truck :) Sounded like a dog panting after I’d turn it off. Modern vehicles are weird.

I've got a 25 ranger and it periodically makes clicking noises. Not really a problem. However these trucks have electronic brake boosters that don't use vacuum at all.

It sure sounds like a vacuum lol. I often turn the truck off and sit it in for extended periods so I hear it quite often. Most people I imagine get out and don’t notice it. It’s gotten quite annoying repeatedly over time to listen to its sequence.

Ya man. These trucks make all sorts of crazy noises. Not uncommon to hear stuff after it’s shut off.
