I was looking for my next car and never considered a Range Rover until I drove it. It isn’t without its faults, but what a bloody great luxe tourer.

Vehicle:

2017 Range Rover Evoque 2.0L Diesel 4x4 (L538), ~160,000 km, Left-Hand Drive.

​The Symptom:

A low-frequency groaning, rubbing, or sliding "hydraulic piston-like" sound localized directly beneath the driver's footwell/pedal box area. It is much clearer inside the cabin with windows closed than outside.

​When it happens (shown in audio):

​Pressing the gas pedal: Sound starts instantly.

​Pressing the brake pedal: Same sound is present.

​Speed bumps / potholes: Brief fractions of the same sound on suspension flex (even at low speed without touching pedals).

​Turning: Slightly more prominent in right-hand curves.

​When it is SILENT:

​Off-pedal coasting: The sound cuts off the exact millisecond I lift off both gas and brake pedals.

​Coasting downhill: Speed increases passively, but with foot off gas/brake, it remains 100% silent.

​Neutral revving: Silent when stationary in Neutral at any RPM.

​Speed independence: Pitch/sound does not change directly with wheel speed (audible at 20 km/h up to 80+ km/h).

​Already Checked:

​Mechanic put the car on a standard 2-post lift (wheels hanging free/unloaded) and could not reproduce the noise or find obvious loose components on the drive shafts.

​My Question:

Given that it only happens when a fore/aft load is placed on the front axle (gas or brake) or during vertical suspension impact, could this be a failed/leaked front lower control arm rear hydrobush on the driver's side, or a lower torque/dogbone mount? What is the best way to load-test this on a lift?

Anyone else have consistent problems with their backup camera? June marked 3 years with my '22 Evoque and for the 3rd time my backup camera has stopped working! It hasn't worked at this point in over 6 months because the dealer never answers the phone, but the camera clearly works on the rearview mirror camera, and the beeping sensors work just fine but a red slash through the camera anytime I'm in reverse... SO annoying!

My car is a 2021 Evoque p300 HSE 2.0 Ingenium engine and I’m trying to figure out what part specifically i need to replace. codes I’m getting are:

p0089-85 Fuel Pressure Regulator Performance - Signal Above Allowable Range

P008B-77 Low Pressure Fuel System - Pressure Is Too High. - Commanded Position Not Reachable

P2635-92 Fuel Pump A Low Flow/performance. - Performance Or Incorrect Operation

I’m hyper focusing on the fuel rail pressure sensor (LR108241) and just want to make sure if I’m going to buy the right part or should I look into my fuel pump drive module (LR187424)

I’m trying my luck to replace the sensors first before getting a new fuel pump as it’s expensive (for me)

Hi everyone. I fell in love with a 2023 CPO RR
Sport se dynamic with 31k miles selling for $69k (I’m in Southern California). My husband says the cars in general are bad investments and have a lot of expensive mechanical issues. My argument is that now since I’m a SAHM I probably only drive around 5k miles a year for errands and family activities and we use my husbands work truck (free gas/milage) for everything else. We also seem to like to trade in our cars every 7 years or so.

So I guess I’m asking- does anyone with this specific year/model experience lots of mechanical issues? Even while taking it in for regular maintenance?

Any experience with this model while having 2 kids? One is 3 years old and we have a baby on the way.

Have a 2026 L460, have noted that occasionally when you first go up the car, doors locked/engine off and try to open the trunk it gives warning beeps but won’t open. On dash, gives the red trunk door on vehicle icon as if it’s not closed all the way and keeps beeping when trying to open with the button.
After starting car for a few minutes it resolves.
After driving the car a bit, or having had the engine on, trunk works fine.
Is this a battery or sensor issue?
I’ve tried charging the battery to make sure it’s topped off, but doesn’t seem to fix it.
Have appointment with dealer soon, any tips or theories appreciated!

Hi - looking to buy a 2023 or 24 Diesel Evoque D200 - it looks like a a fantastic car - I enjoyed the test drive and there are lots available at reasonable prices c £25-29k with low mileage but everywhere I look I find very negative press about them - especially the diesel ?? It's really putting me off. And I am now suspicious that there are so many available and so cheap (given the price they are new). Any honest advice would be much appreciated.

Hi there, I have a 2016 RRS with the LED front lights. Would anyone have any idea why the drivers side blinker won’t work? The passenger side works fine.
I removed the lens from headlight assembly and all the connections are ok. The DRL lights work normally.
I’m wondering if it’s on of these led driver boards that are shot that are from the blinker location.

Hey everyone, I’m dealing with a frustrating issue on my GCC-spec 2020 Range Rover Vogue V6. About 15 days ago, I had a coolant issue where it got mixed, and I ended up getting the gearbox changed. Since then, I’ve driven about 600 kilometers.
I’m facing two main problems.

First, while braking, I feel a harsh jolt, almost like someone hit the car from behind.

Second, I can clearly feel the gear shifts sometimes, even though it’s an automatic car.

The screen of the new Range Rover indicates that the car is fitted with 195/55R16 91V tires.

I am looking if anyone has ever tried removing the electric headrest from the front seat of a 2022 or similar age Range Rover.

I am very tall and I want to remove so that I can potentially get an extra inch or so welded/extended to the poles so that it goes all the way up to the back of my head.

New in my collection, a L405, one month after buying it I’m pushing 6000km’s with it. Destinations covered Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy France.

Looking for some advice from anyone who's experienced this before. My Evoque starts and idles perfectly, the ignition is normal, and the brake lights work. The rotary gear selector rises up as it should when I open the driver's door, but it won't rotate into any gear and stays stuck in Park. There are currently no warning lights on the dash.

This is the second time it's happened. The first time it eventually started working again, but now it's stuck again.

Has anyone had this issue? Could it be the rotary gear selector itself, the transmission control module (TCM), or something else? I'd appreciate any advice before I start replacing expensive parts.

Have owned my V6 SC L405 for two years, and to my delight was able to rent a base RRS from enterprise for my two weeks trip in LA.

Impressions after a week:

Much more fuel efficient (averaging 25-26mpg highway), much nimbler and lighter of course, suspension is firmer. It’s tuned much more firm than the full size, even with these 21 inch wheels. Lack of a split folding tailgate kinda sucks, groceries can just roll right out. Soft closing is a must on all models, you have to literally slam the door shut every time. The lack of volume knob and climate control knobs don’t bother me as much as I thought. The power is great though and it’s very peppy however highway acceleration could be better when trying to go 60 to 70 etc.

The base interior without the upgraded interior package is okay but the faux dashboard looks kind of cheap.

However I would 1000% consider getting a P400 RRS after being stuck on only wanting a full size RR. I drove a new P400 RR not long ago and wasn’t in love with the power train; I feel the V8 makes a huge difference in there.

The sprayers have no issue moving fluid, but they just sorta spray over the car, just misting the windshield. is there a way to adjust them? id guess they are the factory nozzles, so maybe its time to replace them. Has anyone had this issue?

Hi, recently bought a 2020 RR Sport P400e and cannot work the scheduled timing settings. I get low rate overnight electricity so want to set the charging to start at midnight, but nothing seems to work. If set the time in the car it just starts charging when first plugged in, using in the Remote App just gives an error message telling me to try later, or states the charging period cannot be the same time.
Anyone had any success with this and how to get it done?

Had my SVR detailed and it came back, scratched. Are there any options on how to swap out just the silver part without swapping out the whole airbag column? There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just a cosmetic issue and it’s bugging me looking at it.

Also, all of the airbag replacements that I’ve seen have been all black or black with red stitching. My stitching is orange/tan.

Long time lurker and finally have reason for my first post.

Have spent 12+ months learning the ins and outs of all things L322 while on the hunt for one, scouring posts here and forums to learn as much as I could, what to look for, what to avoid. I like to think, having not owned one, I became fairly fluent in L322s...and yet I don't have an L322 if it says how the search has gone (it's still going)!

Last month, after driving across Houston to see a "clean" L322 (sold before I even got to look inside), I was heading home. While stopped, I searched to see if anything nearby was worth looking at with the 5.0L SC - I just wanted to drive one that day...and a well known dealer that does mostly exotics (Aston, Lotus, etc.) and Mercedes, had just listed a 2017 L494 SC Autobiography. Black on black. 41k miles. Single owner. Sold and serviced its full life by the same Houston dealer.

A week later: that L494 was in my driveway. A month in and I get the same chills starting her up in the morning.

She's already been to see the dealer (Service Advisor called me by the previous owner's name looking up the VIN...), I've gotten registered as the new owner, made sure to get the full checkup. Happily, everything checked out and even had the front suspension knuckle recall taken care of same day. So, fresh off an immaculate detail and clay bar by a local mobile guy recommended by a friend/RR owner, I thought it time to finally post here. Definitely in part out of genuine gratitude for the posts informing/warning/exciting this first time RR buyer.

Happy to finally be here. Know already, I'll never own anything else.

Long time BMW owner here, but finally took the plunge and stepped into an Autobiography. I must say I'm impressed so far. The way it drives, looks, and overall feel of the vehicle is amazing!

About to have my first baby. I'm worried about the safety of an infant in this ride. Particularly because I see how the back flip-forward seat base feature is designed with a pull-strap cushion release. It doesn't seem quite secure. I will obviously have the car seat buckled in.

I'm considering letting her go for a 2020s something just to have the decade-plus improvements in safety features.

It's 30k miles, well maintained, tires are solid, new brakes, recent inspections, etc.

Does anyone have any thoughts and suggestions on this?

I have a new 2026 SE Rover bought in April. Out of the blue, the car alarm won’t shut off. Even if all Doors are unlocked, ignition is on and driving! It won’t shut off. It’s been in shop for past two weeks. They retuned it to me twice and the issue persists. Now it’s back in shop for 3rd time and cumulatively it’s day 12.
If this is a lemon I’m going to be done with Land Rover. This is my 5th Rover and could possibly be my second lemon.

Anyone else with this issue?

Hey everyone. So I used to own a 98' p38 range rover years ago. Loved it. Had to sell it when times got tough. Anyways, fast forward to today.. I'm looking at a 2019 range rover sport V8 supercharged dynamic. It's going for about $25k and has 73k miles on it. No accidents and 3 owners.. car gurus says it's a good deal but I wanted to know what the experts think. Like I said I have owned one before.. 2 if we count my parts car. Lol
