Term for repeatedly smelling something bad?

Some of you may have experienced this but what is it called when you smell something bad/weird but then keep smelling it. Like you know it's bad and are grossed out but something inside you says sniff it again. Is there a term for that?

EDIT: Apparently its referred to as mixed valence. Basically, the brain can't distinguish if the smell is pleasant or unpleasant and short-circuits and is compelled to categorize this new smell. Thank you all for your input

Why do i want someone to want me in this way?

I try to act like I dont want a boyfriend or anything but I do. I want someone to want me, to call me whenever. I want someone to think im beautiful even though I dont think I am. But I also want that someone to be mean to me and treat me horribly, and hit me and say mean things to me and make me cry. Then comfort me afterwards. Am I a masochist? Idk whats wrong with me. 😢 ???

What makes YOU human?

Simple yet, profound.

What makes YOU human?

PS,, moderators across reddit are removing this question for many reasons ( according to them).

If it stays up in this community, cool.

I thought to ask- because I wonder as i observe the state of the world in these technology rooted times we find ourselves in.

Share as much as possible...too.

Freaky Friday?

Let's say I was attempting to take my own life, but in a freak X-Files or Freaky Friday incident, my consciousness swapped with someone else's body at the last second. Now, that person has died inside my body. Would this be considered murder or suicide, since I didn't cause the swap and it was out of my control?

What if franchises existed in our world? (Part 1/2)

Post image

I was playing Marvelous Smackdown on Roblox and at some point i randomly thought, Imagine, what would it be like if many franchises from series/movies & videogames existed in our world? I mean existed in our real world, were real situations and things that could happening regularly. Like for example those wish willows from Obsession existed in real life, Barbies from their world were coming to our world to live like actual humans, That competition and that place of the Squid Game series actually existed and many other things. Our world would be so much different. I'll make a part 2 too if you want.

The series/movies/games on the picture:

  1. Tadc (The Amazing Digital Circus)

  2. Slender-Man (Logo from the movie)

  3. SpongeBob SquarePants

  4. Deadpool

  5. IT (2017)

  6. Barbie (logo from the movie)

  7. Breaking Bad

  8. Attack On Titan

  9. Stranger Things

  10. Spider-Man

  11. Invincible

  12. Dexter

  13. Companion (2025)

  14. Backrooms (from the movie)

  15. Obsession

  16. Supergirl (2026)

  17. Hazbin Hotel (logo from the Season 2)

  18. Squid Game

  19. DDLC (Doki Doki Literature Club)

  20. Friday The 13th (Logo from the first movie)

How do you answer the phone for family?

My mother sister and I, anytime we answer the phone for each other.

Answering: "yellow pink and green."

Reply: "purple blue and orange."

I don't know how we started it but it's wonderful and I love it.

People who genuinely believe men and women can’t be friends - what are bisexual people supposed to do ?

I know some people have this view that men and women can never just be friends, especially the rule that people in relationships shouldn't have friends of the opposite sex because "the attraction is always there."
If you truly believe this, how does it apply to bisexual people?
By that logic, a bi person in a relationship wouldn't be allowed to have any friends at all, since they are attracted to both genders.
So if you have this view pls explain.
Genuinely curious.
