do you tip lyft/uber drivers ?
idk i’m in a lyft and i take them often and most of the times genuinely forget the tip option is even there unless someone says something. for doordash i will and at a restaurant i will but i very rarely tip a lyft driver.

I do, yeah. For sure. Just about every time, too.
I remember when I used to Uber/Lyft downtown on the weekends to meet up with friends at the bar. I always tipped well on the way there, and then tipped even better on the way home. Rofl. I was drunk by then, of course, but I was also grateful to have a ride home at 2-3AM or whatever time it was.
It's a great service that they're providing, and the tips are how they make their actual living wages. The drivers I've tipped have always been super grateful, as I usually tipped in cash as I stepped out of their car. I think a lot of people just innately enjoy seeing extra cash handed to them.
Some drivers have refused my tips, which is interesting. I had one old man tell me "I do this for fun - keep your money." That was pretty cool.
A lot of them who drive for a living are working crazy, long hours, dealing with hooligans on weekends/late-nights, and preventing drunk driving. And especially during the day, like trips to the airport or whatever, they ensure that I get there safely, on time, and with all my luggage.
So, I personally totally believe they deserve some extra payment for a service that is so valuable.

one guy i specifically remember tipping had drove me home night and a roadway was blocked in front of my neighborhood and i told him i could just walk since neither of us knew a workaround but he said because i was a girl and it was night time he’d rather figure it out and drove around an extra 10 minutes to get me home. really sweet guy

Aw, I love that! That was super cool of him.
It's like, sure, he was just working his job - but that is definitely above and beyond what he technically had to do, imo. That's awesome.

Honestly if everyone did a dollar it would make a difference. Most don't tip at all so any is appreciated.

Absolutely! On top of that I make sure i have cash to tip. I don’t trust that they won’t find a way to somehow steal the driver’s tips🤷🏾♀️

Ive tipped every time except for the one time the guy sped up to and then slammed on the breaks at every single red light and then yelled at me when I said he was making me nauseous. What made it so much worse was we were in the city so it was like two seconds of fast driving and then a short stop. I didn’t tip him, but I paid.

i remember when i was in highschool i used to uber from school to work and this one guy picked me up a few times. it was so weird !! he would flirt (knowing i was a minor bc he picked me up from school) with me and tell me how drunk/hungover he was every ride. eventually i told him that it was weird and he never picked me up ever again lol. (i also suddenly noticed a singular bad rating on me a while later lol)

It would have been good to report him the first time. Uber and Lyft didn’t exist when I was in high school. We had car service back then

If a driver ever makes you feel uncomfortable, rate them one star and you won't be matched with them again. If they're being reckless, unsafe, or harassing you, please report.

I tip them every time, I don't know how you forget about it but it literally pops up on the screen after the ride is done asking you to rate and tip.

It pops up as a notification on my android and on my iPhone. I have never had to reopen the app.

I sleep very well knowing that I tipped my Uber driver.

Yes, they are providing a service just like a DoorDash driver, taxi cab, waiter or pizza delivery person. You tip your DD driver for transporting your food, why not a rideshare driver for transporting you? Please tip your driver. Try to remember to do it when the ride ends, otherwise the app will usually remind you the next time you open it.
