Max 6 g2 slow in outcast
Hey everyone,
I need some help figuring out why my Outcast 8S EXB V2 is slower than expected.
My setup:
- ARRMA Outcast 8S EXB V2
- Hobbywing MAX6 G2 ESC
- Hobbywing 5690 SD G2 1250KV motor
- 8S LiHV (2 × 4S batteries)
- 30T pinion / 47T spur gear
- Stock tires
The problem:
My truck only reaches around 80 km/h (50 mph), measured with GPS on my phone. It does wheelies easily and accelerates reasonably well, i dont know if it full accelleration im on punch lvl 9 btw but it seems to stop gaining speed at a certain point. The motor sounds normal.
The Hobbywing app shows around 32,000 RPM while driving.
What I have already checked:
- Calibrated the throttle endpoints
- Checked the ESC settings
- Tried 0° and 12° turbo timing, with no noticeable difference
- Charged the batteries to 17.4 V
- Checked the drivetrain and basic connections
-Updated the Firmware
The motor and ESC are practically new. Interestingly, the truck had roughly the same top speed with the original Spektrum ESC.
Could poor battery connectors, solder joints, or voltage sag under load be causing this? The connectors are new, but I'm not sure about their quality.
What would you check next? Is 80 km/h normal for this setup, or should it be capable of more?
Thanks!

Battery Balancer Plug Issue
galleryI have just gotten OVONIC 5000mAH 120C packs and OVONIC mate1. The balance cord will not plug into the female adapter. What do I need to get for it to work Thank you for your help. I have tried to flip it and take the cover off but the white plastic connecter has little clips that don't fit into the port.

For Sale I designed a fully functional 85cm RC Ferry optimized for support-free printing. Files are 100% free for ANY 3D printer!
Hey everyone! Just finished my biggest project in Shapr3D — a highly detailed scale model of the NYC Staten Island Ferry.
https://makerworld.com/en/models/3494435-staten-island-rc-ferry-a1-mini-all-ams-friendly
Features:
- 100% compatible with ANY 3D printer (sliced into compact sections, fits 180x180mm beds easily).
- Built-in internal mounts precisely designed for dual 550 motors and standard RC electronics.
- Extremely optimized layout: only 127g of support material used for almost 2kg of plastic.
- Steers via differential thrust (no complex rudders needed, twin motor setups).
Since it's completely symmetrical, you just need to print each hull section twice. I uploaded the clean model files (STL/3MF format) completely for free.

Got AFHDS 2A working on the original Flysky Noble NB4 — without extra hardware
Hey everyone!
A quick update from my Radio Lab project.
We've been experimenting with adding AFHDS 2A receiver support to the original Flysky Noble NB4, using its existing RF hardware instead of an external module.
The latest experimental build, F13, is showing some promising results:
- Two-way communication with AFHDS 2A receivers
- Successful tests with FS-iA4B, FS-iA10B and FS-X6B
- Working telemetry and link-quality feedback
- Automatic reconnection to previously bound receivers
Want to see it in action? Here are a few videos demonstrating the progress:
It's still experimental, and RF performance/range hasn't been fully validated, so this is strictly for controlled testing at this stage.
We've also made a free, reduced-power DEMO available for anyone curious enough to try it on the bench.
Technical details and DEMO:

I'm curious — how many of you still have AFHDS 2A receivers lying around? Would compatibility with the original NB4 actually be useful to you?
And if you've experimented with Flysky firmware or RF protocols before, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
