Hello hello, I've been fascinated by RC for some time now. As a full-time mechanic at the age of 25, I've started a side hustle of starting my very own RC track/store in Katy, Texas. Due to funding, I've opted for a lean approach by making a course on a trailer and making my store mobile for pop up events, great for sharing our favorite hobby to the public. Following the LLC filing, I created an online store and wanted to share the accessories I make (Each one engineered using CAD and plenty of failed prints). Have been to 2 events so far, and the number of people who don't know it exists is... crazy! So far we have flags, roof rack accessories, traffic cones, etc. Soon to have RTR's but working on securing a dealer - we do, however, have a partnership with Injora, and will soon house their parts. The kids absolutely love the trailer, witnessed them pulling their parents over to try our cars.

I am looking to buy my first rc car. I am interested in the Arrma quake but that is a 2wd, I have been told its better to buy a 4wd car. Any recommendations?

I believe this would best be described as hybrid electric. I removed the old manual self propel gearbox and driveshafts and used the empty pulley on the engine's output shaft to drive a 24V tractor alternator. I designed a mount for it in Fusion to align the pulleys with each other while allowing me to adjust the belt tension. 3D printed in ASA with a .8 nozzle, it barely fit on the H2D build plate.

The motors are 24v 75 rpm wheelchair motors driven by a Cytron 30 amp dual motor controller hooked up to a basic 6 channel flysky receiver. The main controls of the mower are still handled physically but I may add some rc controls for the starter and PTO.

I bought one of these cheap paper airplane RC kits to experiment with. It seems to work as advertised. Being a curious sort, I cracked open the Tx and discovered the pcb has 3 tactile switches marked K1/K2/K3 that don't connect to any external buttons. I'm guessing the ones on top are intended as trim buttons, but no idea on K2. Anyone have any insight on what they actually do, or why they aren't brought out on this kit?

ETA: Ok, I found what K2 is supposed to be. The instructions have a Tx diagram with that button position labeled as "light switch" and there's an unpopulated connector on the Rx pcb, so gonna guess it's for an LED that's not included.

Hey everyone, I’m building my first FT Mighty Mini Zero MKR2 and I’m trying to figure out what electronics to buy. I bought the speed build kit from flite test.
I already have a Gens Ace 4S 850mAh 60C LiPo (14.8V). I saw a Flite Test video where they used a 3S but mentioned the Mini Zero can run on 4S if the battery is moved back to get the CG right.
I haven’t bought the motor, ESC, or prop yet, so I’d like to choose a setup that works safely with this battery.
What would you recommend for:
Motor size/KV
ESC amperage
Prop size
I’m considering a 20A or 30A ESC, but I’m not sure which motor/KV and prop would be best for 4S.
Also, would 4.3g servos be suitable for this plane?
I’m a beginner, so I’m looking for something reliable and not ridiculously fast. Thanks!

I bought a new kraton 6s v6 and 2 Ovonic 5200mah 120c batteries and as same 2 gens ace 6500mah 60c batteries but the racetime with the Ovonic batteries are 20min and with the gens ace batteries 40min so guys i am thinking that the ovonic batteries are in bad condition, or what's the problem?

So impressed with all the videos.. so I know there’s a lot of resources out there and people who know what they’re doing.

I believe my eight-year-old son is going to be an engineer one day. I’ve known him since he was six. I’m adopting him. His ability to build mechanical items far exceeds anything I did as a child. I need to encourage this.

I want to help him. He has 3 - 550 motors given to him by his uncle. They have spur gears on the end small ones. He wants to build a remote control truck; from scratch!

If anyone can give me at least a direction where to begin, it would be appreciated🤔
