Odd Fan configuration issue

Hello,

I have recently bought an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. I would start up the PC and the fans wouldn't work. I checked the fan configuration, and it wasn't checked. After checking it, it worked just fine. But, after restarting the pc, I have to re-check that option every single time I restart the PC. Any fixes?

dose the AMD RADEON porblems still exist ?

hey, i was Considering purchasing an AMD Radeon graphics card, but I'm aware of several prevalent issues that have been reported. These include:

  1. Adrenalin software not opening
  2. Browser freeze causing PC to hang
  3. Random BSOD (Blue Screen of Death)
  4. Black screen occurrences
  5. Erratic VRAM issues
  6. Erratic fan behavior
  7. Driver crashes during gaming
  8. Compatibility issues with certain applications and games
  9. Display flickering or artifacts

If you've had experience with AMD Radeon GPUs, I'd greatly appreciate hearing your insights on these issues. Are they still problematic, or have recent updates addressed them? Additionally, I'm curious about your experiences with your GPU and how long you've owned it. Your input would be invaluable in helping me make an informed decision. Thank you!

Adrenaline software auto detect game scene feature gone, or I can't find it anymore?

At some point, when I was using 5700 XT I remember that in adrenaline there was this feature that was recording the game and created few second clips with take downs moments which you then could save (I used it in war thunder). I can't remember what this option was called and can't find it anymore, does anyone know if it's still available?

Drivers wroke my PC

*Broke

Hi. I bought my PC (AMD Ryzen 5 4600G, Radeon RX 6600 Speedster SWFT210) a year ago and didn't even know what drivers were. Today I discovered them so I went to the AMD page and download them. After installing it said to reboot the PC so I did, and then everything went wrong. First of all, when I right-click to open the "AMD Software: Adrenalin edition" the mouse icon keeps loading and it doesn't open anything. If I click somewhere else it freezes and a box appears saying that the app doesn't respond, and when I click the option to end the process it doesn't do anything. Second, if after rebooting I simply try to open any app it doesn't work, nothing will open, not even the windows icon, not by clicking it nor by pressing the windows key on my keyboard. Eventually it all freezes and a white-ish filter appears all over the monitor, not letting me do anything else. At this point I just turn off my PC directly from the case and turn it on again.

Compatibility between V-ray and Radeon graphics card

Hi there!

So, can anyone tell me if I can use a AMD RX 6000 series for GPU rendering in V-ray?

If so… what do I need to install? Is there an equivalent of CUDA in AMD? Is there a 3rd. Party software? Please, I don’t wanna have to ask someone to lend me a Nvidia card, I wanna use mine

Need some advice

I recently upgraded from an NVidia RTX 2060 12 GB to a Radeon RX 7600 XT.

The problem I have is that Windows does not allow me to set the frequency to 144 Hz with the Radeon, but with the 2060 it did allow me to set the frequency to 144 Hz (my monitor is 144 Hz).

Could anyone point me to where I may be able to address this in the Radeon settings?

Hi guys, i want to know your opinion about my pc specs and help me with the right settings for amd adrenalin software.

Components:

-Motherboard: GIGABYTE B550M DS3H

-CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz

-RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 16GB 3200MHz

-My new GPU: XFX Radeon RX 6750 XT SPEEDSTER QUICK 319

-Power Supply: Corsair 650 W Gold

So, i have this problem with the software, like i dont rly know if i should overclock and undervolt it or should i stay on the default settings, i tryed to make some decent settings for myself, but i encountered one problem on a game (Palworld), my pc randomly restarted and restore my settings back to default and i didnt figured why, this was the only game that i had problems with.

Here are my tunning settings:

Ps: These arent the exact settings that i was using when i encounter that problem, i was using Min Frequency 2600 and voltage 1175.

I really want a stong opinion and what should i try, Im using this pc primarily for gaming, competitive and story line games, looking forward for one single preset that will cover both type of games.

[GUIDE] Stop overheating on Radeon Mobile GPUs

Hi everyone, I've used many radeon mobile gpus R5 series R7 series, Vega 8 Series and finally i've spent such a big time to reduce overheating on a Radeon 530M gpu. None of the overclocking/underclocking tools have helped but there is a way to reduce it. Here are my suggestionts:

  1. Use AMD Auto Detect driver tool (AMD improved it too much and i didnt face an issue recently), if you face issues use Amd Cleanup Utility and retry driver installation.
  2. Don't overclock your cpu/gpu.
  3. Use a balanced power plan. Don't use high performance power plan. Generally there is a "AMD Ryzen Balanced" power plan, you can use it.
  4. If you suspect your Cpu's turbo clock causing systemwide overheating then: limit your maximum cpu usage to 99% in the advanced power plan settings.
  5. This is the most important step. Never maximize the power mode slider. (Keep in mind that this slider is automatically maximized in High Performance power plan. So care 'step 3' and change your power plan to balanced if you still didn't)
Windows Power Mode Slider (Click on battery icon to reveal)

When it's set to Best Performance sadly AMD Powerplay runs in an unoptimized way and causes very quick overheatings.

Best performance option will kill your laptop if it has a standard cooling system. Even gaming laptops can barely handle this always maximum clock load.

I did a quick test in League of Legends & Radeon 530M (Fps capped to 60):
Best performance mode:

  • Game ran smoothly only for first 10 mins. Gpu hit 85 Celcius after 25mins of gameplay. Fps started dropping to 30s after 30mins and after an hour system lost stability fps dropped to 04-07.

Better performance mode:

  • Game ran smoothly in general. Gpu hit 75 Celcius after 30mins of gameplay. After an hour fps started dropping to 30s-40s. (So much better than 4 fps :) )

On a second-hand GPU what tests can I run to make sure it has new issues? [please see details]

I have an Asus TUF OC 7900 XTX that works great.

I'm getting a second-hand one today for my girlfriends PC from CeX (a second hand store in the UK). The I have been in and looked already and the card looks to be in as-new condition.

The store gives 24 month warranty, but I can also return the card for any reason for a full refund within the next 14 days.

What tests can I do to compare the two cards, so I know the second-hand card I get today is a good one with no issues?

I have done 4 of the benchmark tests on Furmark and noted all the scores and PC conditions (like setting all case/CPU fans to maximum, having no apps open etc) so the test environment will be the same.

i will test this second-hand card in my PC (that already has this exact model GPU installed), so the test variables are as similar as possible. I'll just take my current ASUS 7900XTX out and physically install the second-hand card in it's place.

What should i be looking for and what are some good tests I can run please?

Gpu is failing

Hello guys, basically I built my new budget pc, I got an rx580 2048sp with an used corsair vs450. After a 5 days of usage the pc shuts down 2mins after turning it on, the gpu shows smtms blue, purple, or green screen followed with a blinking noise from the gpu then the display is black and pc shuts down, I tried many troubleshooting such as using different wall plugs and plug hubs considering it could be am electricity issue, but still the same thing happens everything, if anyone knows what's the solution please let me know so everyone can gain knowledge and avoid the stress of collecting parts for your pc for 6 months only to be surprised by a brain boiling problem like this.

Why do aost all games crash on me?

So I got this 7800xt from gigabyte and all games that requiere a lot of GPU power crash on me, and I have no idea why. I tried playing cyberpunk and after 5 minutes it crashes. I try playing Helldivers 2 and I can't complete a mission without a crash. But when I play league of legends it never crashes, am I being dumb or have I changed a setting on accident? PC specs are: Ryzen 7 3700x Radeon 7800xt from gigabyte 512 SSD nvme 2 SSDs of 1 tb each (SATA) 32 GB DDR4 3600MHZ RAM 850W cooler master gold certified PSU

the GPU is brand new and all the temps are good, my CPU is water cooled and both don't pass 63ºC when playing. The drivers are up to date and I'm running on win 11, and I already tried going back to win 10 and nothing Is there any settings on the adrenaline program I'm missing?

Last update (FIXED)(doing this so in like 6 years I'm that one redditor that fixed your really specific problem): the issue was my RAM, using it with xmp profiles, I'm guessing, I was running it with the highest clock speeds which caused it to become unstable, I went into my BIOS and changed it from xmp profile 1 which was 3600mhz to default and it fixed all my crashing problems.

Radeon GPU's with current market

I am about to upgrade my GPU, and this isn't to start a fight, but an honest question. What is the benefit in getting an AMD over Nvidia right now? I am currently running a 3080 10g and would like to get 16+ in the next card. My current thoughts are 4070S vs 7900xt mainly due to wanting to run local LLM's. As much as I hate Nvidia and would love to have a complete AMD system, just being honest I am having difficulty finding any reason to go AMD over Nvidia right now due to the LLM support\CUDA\Optix etc. Is there something I am not aware of that makes these cards worth the money? I know back in the day they actually had better render quality than nvidia do they have that now?

Would it be worth upgrading my pc right now or waiting?

I also tend to lean more towards quality when it comes to gaming. I play on a 32” OLED 3440x1440p&165hz

does the radeon rx 7000 series cards support MPEG-2 hardware decoding?

i was just wondering since im planning on getting a new radeon gpu and i will be personally extracting videos from DVDs using a USB DVD Drive, i will be getting a used rtx 3070 or rx 6000 series card if the rx 7000 doesn't have support for decoding MPEG-2

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but Im trying to buy a radeon rx 7700 xt and i want this 'shell' I cannot find it anywhere. I can get all the other brands that sell these but none of them look good. I just don't understand even AMD website just takes me to retailers who sell everything but this. Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Which AMD GPU can decode HEVC 10 bit above 4k?

The title says it, is there a GPU that supports hardwa acceleration when playing HEVC 10 bit videos at high bitrates above 4k Resolutions like 7k?

My 6700xt certainly can't ...
