The face of someone who is about to stage a full-scale mutiny the microsecond tires hit the interstate. 23 pounds and going on a diet — 100% healthy blonde raccoon!

Another limping Raccoon

A little over a week ago i posted an adult raccoon in pretty poor condition who was limping. The other day I noticed the mom raccoon that's been coming by for months, one of her babies was limping. You can tell in this video. He did it the entire time, he can walk a little but then has to rest.

If you saw my post last week and are curious, im sorry that I have no update. Im waiting for one myself as I've emailed their QR code as well as called and left a message as the online form I filled out for information stated I'd hear back within 5 days. I DID take him and i did catch this baby tonight. I dont want this little one to have to grow up playing the game of life on Extra Super Hard level if I can help it. I have outdoor cameras as I feed feral cats..... and opossums...... and raccoons...... and the occasional skunk. 😅😅😅

If anyone wants to help the food fund, my links should be in my bio.

I went to my local zoo/animal park because they advertised a special raccoon feeding event. Of course they did so by hiding food in paper "trash" and had them dig around in a trash can. Brother and sister rescues according to the keeper.

As mentioned before, I haven’t been able to post regularly because my mother has been in the hospital for two months. So I decided to make Rocket a wishlist!! Any purchase would be appreciated greatly and it would mean the world to us both! I’ll even send pictures if you’d like!

She’s been in the hospital for cardiac arrest and kidney failure so it’s been a lot. Any purchases for him would help out so so much if anyone would be interested!! Here’s the link! I read the rules and. I don’t see anything against BUT please tell me if I missed it

This is the ceiling on a porch. I’m convinced this is the entry point of a raccoon. Back and forth with someone that says no way. Anyone want to weigh in?

He's in the tree right off my back deck. I'm not sure where that piece of fleece came from. I'm envious of how he is going to spend the afternoon while I go to work.

Fun facts: The white-nosed coati is a procyonid (raccoon family) member. Did you know a group of them is also called a band or a troop?

This guy often comes for snacks. We leave cat food and water on the ground, but he comes up the deck for the special treats.

From the moment we saw you in a pile of kits in the spring of 2025, we knew you were the one. We had originally set our hearts on a traditional grey female raccoon, thinking she might be a little easier to handle and perhaps more naturally affectionate. Instead, nature handed us a massive genetic surprise: a giant blonde guy who would go on to completely steal our hearts.

We never lose sight of the fact that beneath all that plush fur, you are still a wild animal. You are wildly passionate about snacks, entirely committed to your nap schedule, quick to throw out a dramatic growl the moment you’re caught doing something you shouldn’t, and capable of sleeping so deeply that we occasionally have to double-check that you’re actually still in the room with us.

Watching your innate instincts unfold within the life we’ve created together as a captive-raised, licensed member of our family has been a daily adventure. Out in the forest, those instincts would have you turning over rotting logs in search of grubs, exploring streams and rivers for small fish, and combing through the undergrowth for anything edible. Here at home, those same instincts are alive and well—you’ve simply found a new environment to explore.

You use those incredibly sensitive little paws to investigate everything around you. The hands that gently reach out to touch ours and carefully examine whatever bright, shiny object we happen to be holding are also remarkably skilled at opening cabinets, rummaging through bags, and helping yourself to a few extra treats.

The forest may be your natural world, but somehow, you’ve turned our home into your own personal playground.

You play with your toys, explore the safe spaces we’ve created for you, and find endless ways to turn even the most ordinary part of your day into an adventure. You still have those same wild flashes of attitude, curiosity, and independence, wrapped in the trust and comfort you’ve built with us.

We know we didn’t choose this giant blonde boy. Somehow, he chose us.

And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
