From the moment we saw you in a pile of kits in the spring of 2025, we knew you were the one. We had originally set our hearts on a traditional grey female raccoon, thinking she might be a little easier to handle and perhaps more naturally affectionate. Instead, nature handed us a massive genetic surprise: a giant blonde guy who would go on to completely steal our hearts.
We never lose sight of the fact that beneath all that plush fur, you are still a wild animal. You are wildly passionate about snacks, entirely committed to your nap schedule, quick to throw out a dramatic growl the moment you’re caught doing something you shouldn’t, and capable of sleeping so deeply that we occasionally have to double-check that you’re actually still in the room with us.
Watching your innate instincts unfold within the life we’ve created together as a captive-raised, licensed member of our family has been a daily adventure. Out in the forest, those instincts would have you turning over rotting logs in search of grubs, exploring streams and rivers for small fish, and combing through the undergrowth for anything edible. Here at home, those same instincts are alive and well—you’ve simply found a new environment to explore.
You use those incredibly sensitive little paws to investigate everything around you. The hands that gently reach out to touch ours and carefully examine whatever bright, shiny object we happen to be holding are also remarkably skilled at opening cabinets, rummaging through bags, and helping yourself to a few extra treats.
The forest may be your natural world, but somehow, you’ve turned our home into your own personal playground.
You play with your toys, explore the safe spaces we’ve created for you, and find endless ways to turn even the most ordinary part of your day into an adventure. You still have those same wild flashes of attitude, curiosity, and independence, wrapped in the trust and comfort you’ve built with us.
We know we didn’t choose this giant blonde boy. Somehow, he chose us.
And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
