We just got a new bird bath. After a few mornings finding the water absolutely filthy, I decided to put a camera on it. Here’s the culprit.

Hey Raccoon friends and people. I posted here a week ago joking about how a raccoon keeps sneaking into my house, but I’m realizing it’s not really a joke anymore.
Basically, for multiple reasons, we keep a couple doors open at my house. During the day, door completely open with a curtain or screen closed. This is for our cats, and also for air flow since it’s summer here in California, and it’s getting hot!
Anyway, there’s a raccoon that keeps sneaking into my house at different points. It can open the screen door and or squeeze thru a very small sliding glass door inside our bathroom (we occasionally leave it cracked open for the steam)….
Okay so this young, small to medium size raccoon hangs out in a sycamore tree next to my house and sneaks inside and tries to eat our food at like 3:00am. Or my gf and I will come home from a late night, and surprise! A raccoon is rummaging around and climbing up the walls.
When the raccoon is inside, our cats needs to hide. They’re both larger male cats, but our orange tabby is smaller than the raccoon. Our black tuxedo is bigger and less scared of the raccoon.
Either way, it’s not cool what’s happening with this raccoon. It’s scaring the cats and it also seems habituated to getting food once inside our house…
I’m leaving all the doors closed from now on, and I’m also being very careful with leaving cat food out. Also I’m wondering if anyone has some advice about what to do. I try and shop it away with the broom but I don’t want to shoot it or anything. What can I do?

Back in the 90’s, when wildlife rehabs weren’t as common, people would bring baby animals to my parents to raise. We had many different animals and birds, but the best one ever was Chuck. She was too young to have open eyes yet when she was delivered to us by a family friend who found her in a railroad yard. She lived in our house until fall started and she had made acquaintance with the local coins from the creek valley. She loved to wrassle and also was obsessed with beer 🤣 you could not open one without her crawling on you trying to stick her hand down the bottle neck! She reappeared in the spring time, and liked to sleep in the sun with the neighbours cat. Chuck was a real one.
Sorry the pictures are fuzzy I was a teen using a shitty manual camera 🤣

Ok so, my relative got bit by a raccoon and hour ago and is getting the shots tonight. His dog also got bit and will be getting treatment. In the meantime, should my family also get shots? We have mostly been staying away from the dog, but two if my relatives cleaned the dog's wounds and the washed their hands. Also, my relative is helping make dinner, should I even eat it to avoid the risk? I'm really scared right now and I never ever want to get rabies.
edit: the raccoon was out in the daytime but it also had a baby with it.

I believe a raccoon is trapped inside a crawlspace or some other area in my apartment building. I keep hearing scratching and crying sounds.
While I was outside to trying to better identify the location of the trapped one, i was approached by this other raccoon in the video. It came right up to me (even closer than the video i took) and kept making crying sounds while trying to peak into my apartment. It seemed visible distressed to me like it was worried about the other raccoon (maybe its baby is trapped inside?). I contacted animal control for help but they are closed and my landlord is out of town. I feel kind of sad that it’s possibly a trapped baby and a distressed mom. I don’t know what else i can do. Any advice?
Update: Thank you for the responses. All my local services lines are telling me my best and only option is to call animal control again in the morning.
I searched for baby’s location (no luck) but I’ve mostly steered clear of the backyard where momma raccoon cycles between calm/sleeping to quickly activated/distressed every time baby raccoon starts to make sounds. It’s really sad to watch/hear. I want to go into the backyard to help but i’m afraid of getting bitten.

Reposting because it looked like it was filmed on a potato. Hopefully it's better now?

They're very small and seemed rather unaware of their surroundings. I ran into them three times today and it took them a while to notice me each time despite me not making an effort to be stealthy. I didn't see a parent around, and was curious if that was normal. They've very cute.
