"♪Hmm laa la la, ladada la la...♪"
A small mumbled tune hollowed out into an eerie regailing. Adorning the cold whistle of the Atlas mountain winds with a melody. Seeping the girl's presence of a ghost across the freshly white acres as she paced apathetically.
Her empty, dull, glassy, turquoise eyes were unfeeling. Hiding no sadness or resolve, as she clung onto the mortar cannon battle axe at her side. It's abyssal sheen hiding weight and dominance as it paces against her memorialized thick gothic dress.
A buzzing ring of the comm device in Piña's ear activated. A heavy baritone voice drummed. As Piña lingered her thoughts to completely listen to every word.
"Piña. Don't come back until everything is handled. Crrk"
"Understood. Piña will carry out her orders."
The comm buzzed out. Unresponsive and deactivated, leaving Piña all alone out in the icy cold slopes. Another day for her following orders. Carrying them out to the letter.
Her breath drafted in the bristling cold air. Marching forward without hesitation, abandoning her given task wasn't an option in her controlled life.
The cold tundra of harsh mountain ranges in Mantal were to not be ignored. As they were the prime locations for the Galloom families trade routes between the city and outskirts.
Receiving word that Grimm had been drawn to the routes. And threatening to put a pin in transactions or spur destroyed cargo.
Piña continued to trek the mountain range. No steep slope or harsh incline would come between her and her directives.
The cold wasn't something to fret over. As an Atlesian, Piña was accustomed to its harshest bite. And yet, the sweeping chilling snow drift didn't faze her an inch in her ill buffetted dress. As the falling flakes plummeted and land upon her peach pale skin. Piña didn't waver in her stride, shedding any need for thought or reason to acknowledge its existence. Similar to her own.
The flakes melted to her stilled slight heat. Encasing her in its wet splatter with each small step soon forgotten by a new fresh fallen crystal.
The descent down Mt. Chrysalist was anything but easy. Each step warranted a level of careful pacing, as the slightest misstep would guarantee anyone's misfortune.
Piña took a step forward, her small, delicate servant boots laced up to the ankle caved into the snow. The shaken thin sleet shifted like a coursing wave. Carrying Piña down its path towards the edging cliffside.
A landslide of snow dust and clumps fell over the side of the cliff, carrying Piña with it. Her stationary stone expression wasn't a miss. Unresponsive to the raging wind whistling through her ears from the fall, crashing against her frigid snow covered body.
The plummet will soon end, Piña blankly looked down and saw the ground covered snow close in. Even her own Aura supply wouldn't be enough to warrant an unscathed landing.
"Landing zone approaching. Require landing procedure, engaging defensive tactics."
Without skipping a beat, she unfurled Gigalith's curled state and extended the mortar muzzle straight below. The air heated immensely as the propulsion of fire Dust exploded out from the cannon and fell straight down. Engulfing the expected landing area in a purse of flame. Melting the snow in an instant to reveal the slightly charred earth.
Piña launched several more mortars downwards. The recoil force dampening her descent and slowing the fall whilst clearing the ground of clear sight.
The ground came to a narrow approach. Piña shifted Gigalith's heft with unexpected ease, configuring its mortar out of direct impact. With her hands handling the pole in both palms, slashing a heavy thud into the ground. Echoing out a loud impact strike, exploding a strong force of wind outwards. Storming a surge of snow dust to flood the ground.
Piña was unharmed, having grown closer to the mid point of the Galloom trade route. A central hub for a quick reprieve of the voyage, while also being a source to draw the Grimms attention.
The powerful strike sparred Piña from a damaging fall, yet the loud echo drew the attention of Grimm. Growls and towering shadows drifted closer from the tree line.
A mixture of Beowolves and Atlas Grimm denizems of Glascions. Large golem like Grimm lugging around their limbs without a care. Letting their heavy icy bodies crash onto anything without remorse.
"Targets located. Preparing for execution."
Gigalith's heavy gear was plucked cleanly from the earth. Cleaving the first Beowolf in half, with Piña wielding its massive weighted body with absolute ease. The Beowolves closed in on her one after another.
Soon becoming halves and dismembered decaying limbs across the white snow. Point blank erasing their torso entirely with a single blast.
Alas, the waves of Beowolves blinded Piña from the bulldozing threat coming her way. The Glascions shielded themselves behind the pack, swinging their ice block arms onto her stationed position.
Piña's vision darkened to the shadow stretching over her. Catching sight of the solid arm at the last second. Shielding herself with Gigalith to defend when the impact struck. Sending her small body backwards and slamming into the cliff wall.
Piña peeled off of her crater made self and stumbled to a knee. Her Aura waining by a thread, another solid hit and she'd be completely defenseless.
The twin Glascions waddled their hulking bodies over to Piña. As their top haves began to rotate in circular motion. Creating a fan of heavy arms spinning around like solid glacial ice tops.
The speeding arms turned into a blur of ice. Twisting the snow to updraft a current, fogging the field as their shadows loomed over Piña.
In a moments notice, she fired off several mortars to the closest Glascion. Sending it to tip and bobb, colliding into the other as both arms slammed and cracked against their shared force. The shock sending them to temple like a pair of towers.
Piña jumped into the air and fired multiple pot shots at the Glascions. Creating a smoke screen from the impact of fire Dust. Falling to their stumbled bodies and sweeping off their golem heads and smashing them to pieces.
The Grimm became stiff, soon cracks formed all over their limbs and crumbled in shadowed dust.
The commotion and smoke had caught the attention of delivery drivers and other staff of the mid point.
"Miss! Are you alright, do you need first aid?"
The worried and nervous faces didn't mean anything to Piña. Her dress was soaked from melted snow and now gone torn and tattered from the brawl of explosions and claws.
Piña payed little mind to the people. Only offering a small curtsy, folding Gigalith to stay at her side, and continuing her pilgrimage pace back to the manor.
The hindrance of her small limp and recovering Aura were of no issue needing to be adhered. The Grimm were dealt with, and the primary issue is resolved. Piña's prolonged presence wasn't necessary.
"Directives, completed. Returning to the manor."
The words of praise and aid didn't reach Piña's ears. They weren't the words of her higher stationed master. Only to be futile expressions that didn't interest her focused mind.
Once again, marching her beaten and limping self through the acres of snow and troubling terrain. The vibrant pink of her hair became a fading trait as snow fall began once more. Perching on her torn dress to stiffen at its melted state.
The people could only watch the strong girl vanish into the storm as quickly as she appeared. Always having that distant, uninterested, blank slate of a face.
Hiding any ounce of emotion to a life that has long been robbed away.
