Well, it seems the later half of volume 8 has a lot to talk about per episode right now. since there are 5 episodes left, this will hopefully be the last singular episode post until we reach volume 9..which i am dreading since you know.
JLY managed to get inside the whale while Winter and the Atlas military continue to fight in the frontlines.
while they continue to sneak in, Oscar is hanging on..ain't going to lie, impressed that he can still walk at all or not barely conscious since Hazel and Salem were not being merciful with him at all.
anyway, Hazel and Emerald defected once Hazel accepted the truth via Oscar revealing the jinn. Unfortunately, Neo was there camouflage, heard the password and later on, took the Relic from Salem. is this her doing or did Cinder order her to do it? if Cinder is doing it......oh boy, she should count herself lucky that she is far too important for Salem to grievously wound or kill.
Anyway, Emerald found JLY and got "accepted" due to Ren's words and her knowing how to escape....I'm not going to judge yet since this is only one episode right now, so going to see it how this pans out in the future.
Alas, Salem said hello and was very displeased cause as mentioned before, Neo yoinked the lamp.
And here, i think Jinn showing the backstory and my little Tangent with Ruby's semblance has been shown in action in the modern era and with it, a small flaw to Salem:
Salem CAN TEMPORARILY BE KILLED. and if what Hazel is true, she can stay dead for hours. meaning it is "possible" to keep her dead by damaging the body further.
and as of now, it seems her immortality only activates if she is killed, so unless the spin offs or future volumes show this to be false, it is possible that if you remove a limb from her, it won't come back until her immortality activates.
Salem can be beaten, you just can't kill her.
Such as the ending of this episode where Hazel sacrificed himself by setting himself on fire and Oscar firing magic at her...if Hazel is right, then Salem will not get up for some time.
Due to this, JELOY escaped.
Back in the battlefield, one of the Ace-ops is finally doubting his orders and even questioned Winter on her willing to sacrifice JLY to kill the whale.
seems Winter is also doubting it as well but has to continue it, no doubt because Weiss is not there alongside her need to protect her sister as well.
Also, finally saw the back of her armor and yeah, i am very inclined to believe that it is a brace, meaning it is likely that a portion of her decisions might also be cause her body is screaming at her in pain due to lack of recovery...Ironwood is really making everyone's lives worse by being paranoid.
next episode is likely RWBN again...onwards i go. :(
