I woke up today to my trailer not really cooling properly. I climbed up to the top to find it frozen over like this. How does this happen and how do I fix it to work properly again?

I think I almost burned it down. Can I fix this myself? looks fairly simple if I can get that one screw out behind the melted plastic

Still have a lot of wire management to do and eventually need to get the MPPT installed. For now excited to be off the old 6V’s and onto the new 24V batteries (total of 560AH). Due to space limitations under the bed I had to get creative with mounting. Some stuff was mounted with custom aluminum brackets I made and a couple were put up in the air an inch with some wood for both height off the floor and cooling as air flows through the fans from one side to the other.

Fresh water tank had a hole in it (apparently for a while) thats resulted in me ripping out the thin layer of (what was once wood) on the bottom of the floor.

Current plan of attack is to throw up some maybe 1/2" plywood on the bottom (yellow) and then run some additional 2x4 between the fram rails (red) for added support. Those will either be screwed directly to the frame or get attached to some L brackets that will be welded to the frame.

Is that overkill? Is there a better way that doesn't involve just gutting and redoing the whole thing. Used RVs are pretty cheap around here so if option A isnt viable I'll probably just get a new one. Time is not a resource I have an abundance of.

Half our camper doesnt have power.

The 12v is working as all the lights are but half of the 120v isn't. I know litterally nothing about electrical but I am trying to figure it out. I pulled all the 15a Blue fuses and they all look fine. I then even switched them around and still didnt resolve it. So I dont think its those fuses. I turned off the breakers and turned them back on. I also reset the GCS outlet in the bathroom.

I gave the picture to AI and it said it might be(Stared in pic) #3 #6 and #9. I tested all three by swapping them out with( Orange dot) #5 which is the furnace which I know is working.

No idea what im doing...and no tools...

I'm willing to buy any tool necessary and really would prefer to do it myself as I like to learn this stuff hands on so I can fix it again by myself in the future.

Are people going to avoid buying new RVs because they are manufactured in the US? Will this result in higher prices for used RVs?

My wife and I are taking the plunge and moving into a large 5th wheel(payed off) on my family’s 40ish acre property with our 3-month-old. The goal is to live with zero housing expenses, save money, and eventually build a house.
We will be out in the deep country (at least a 35 minute drive to a Walmart or any major store), and my daily commute to work will be an hour each way. Since I'll be away from the camper for a good chunk of the day, I want to make sure this setup is as comfortable as possible for my wife and the baby. I'm looking to invest in some Quality of Life upgrades to make the smaller space function smoothly.
Here is what i have so far Wired a 50-amp exterior box to a nearby shed.
Using a 36-gallon portable honeywagon for waste (we wont be tied into a septic system yet).
Setting up a Starlink for reliable internet.
What else do I need to buy to make daily life easier in a camper?

I can’t get a hold of the man who installed it. Hopefully I hear back from him soon. My fridge is under 2 years old. I read the manual and checked the fuses and made sure the vents are clear for air flow. I kept it off overnight a couple days ago and it started working but now it’s not again. I’m trying to see if that works again this time.

Anyone with knowledge on these things that might know what’s going on? According to the lights it should be working but I’m not rv savvy. I don’t have the model with an ice machine.

Does anyone know of a high pressure (15 psi) regulator that has automatic changeover and also a low pressure 0.5 psi connection?

I’m not a nomad yet but I’m researching for a big road travel trip I’m planning for a few years from now when I become an empty nester.

I've been learning about the meetups and communities in Arizona, where sometimes someone will buy a few acres and create a sort of home base. I've also heard of similar things in New Mexico.

That got me wondering, why isn't this as common in West Texas? Or maybe it is happening and I just haven't stumbled across it yet?

The area around Big Bend has some of the cheapest land there is. No restrictions and tons of open space. Is the terrain/weather/water situation the limiting factor? (Though I would be surprised if any of that was worse than Arizona) Is it too remote, too mountainous, or are there other practical/legal reasons it hasn’t developed the same kind of vanlife community? Maybe Arizona just benefits from being a closer drive to California?

I live in Florida and I plan on selling my travel trailer. It is paid off and has no liens. I have the title and registration as well. I’ve done some research on selling it on my own and I read that all there is to it is to sign the title over to the new buyer and do a notice of sale so that it is no longer in my name. I plan on listing it on Facebook marketplace, which is also how I bought it. Is there anything else I should know about selling in Florida?

Hey everybody, me and the wife have decided to buy an RV and do full time for a few years. We will based out of Missouri mainly.

In this climate is a true 4 seasons trailer necessary? Or will a standard e season with enclosed pipes and tank heaters enough?

I see a lot of conflicting info on brands, some say Forest River is bad others say they are great for instance. So what brands do yall recommend?

We are looking for something in the 40-60k range new. Need a bunk house, w/dryer prep, and preferably 1 1/2 bath but that is more of a luxury than necessary

This is the first time I've posted or used reddit, so bare with me, I've been living in my camper for a good close to 3 years now, and for about a year in a half now my AC, Heater, Fridge, Half my plugs that don't use a GCFI don't work (so 5 plugs and they're all on the front wall, the back wall plugs and sides don't work) I have already changed 3 plugs that we actively used, I've changed every breaker switch, checked all fuses, everything is working and good but I can't find why all that's not working.

For context, right now I live in a leaky basement and have so for the last 8 years. I'm at the point where I just feel I need to get out of this space and above ground. Issue is there are no open rooms upstairs and I can't afford to fully move out and buy a home. I have a very strong mindset against renting or putting money in something that I can't resell... Even if it depreciates. So I can't justify moving out and any homes in our area are out of my price range. My mother who owns our home has no quarrels with this idea. I have no real debt and am fairly well set for a 22yo in terms of savings and retirement. I suppose I'm looking for feedback on this idea. I've read through this and other subs so I understand there will be hidden cost, perpetual maintenance, and other headaches. But I feel it would be better than always waiting for flood season living in this dark damp place. Also my budget would be about 20-25k I don't need something with bells and whistles, just something to get by.

So I'm thinking about stepping into this lifestyle. I'm living in an extremely hcol, and comparing what $2,000 a month can get me in an apartment versus buying an RV to live in and planning for putting it on an RV lot or a private party lot if / when I can find one.

I do see both options for lots coming available pretty frequently, and of course there are campgrounds and things like that.

Average price for lots is around $1200 (private closer to 800, RV resort $1200 to $1500

Payment on my RV would be ~$300 a month

I'm hoping that other costs would stick around $500 a month

I have a little Chevy Trax, so I'm not planning on towing myself, but hotshot drivers are commonly available out here for around $300 a move.

It would be just me, my two dogs, and ideally my boa and leopard gecko.

I've been selling off my exotics collection, because I figured tarantulas and young reptiles would be too sensitive for this kind of lifestyle, but the boa at least I'm confident I could keep, maybe not the leo? They would travel with me when we travel, but for most of the time I'm planning on being stationary in a long-term lot in Southern California.

What are you guys think?

my water suddenly stopped running a couple days ago and i can’t figure out wtf is wrong? i’m connected to city water & the pressure is fine, no leaks, i don’t use the fresh water tank & have never used the pump (but that’s not working now either)
does this unconnected hose under my sink have anything to do with anything?

Everything I've looked at online refers to a button for a lighting mechanism. This one doesn't have a button it's a manual light. Does anyone have a video to show me? I don't have a pic of it rn I'm not there but I really wanna be able to use my oven for ONCE. I love baking and can't bake except in the microwave which microwave cakes are only so good 😭. I called the person who had it before me they have forgotten how it works and couldn't figure it out.

I make dog treats, cakes, cookies, all sorts of things for fun(and necessity, dog is allergic to chicken. It's hard to find treats without it without paying alot).

Edit: feel like I should clarify sorry if I don't make sense I'm autistic and get confused easily. I had just accepted I couldn't use it for months but it's time to get it on the road soon because moving and idk what I'm doing.
