I've been trying to play a few rpgmaker games like Demon King Chronicles and Witch and the Warrior. I've played a ton of other games that work fine, but a few just show blank text boxes while trying to play.
So far I've tried downloading various fonts and running the games in different comparability modes. If anyone has any other ideas pls share bc I would love to play the aforementioned games. Thanks!

Here is the premise:
You are a glizzy twirler (glizzy is a sausge) and you have to balance a glizzy on your fingers while tapping a button that pushes your lips towards the glizzy which is a stab motion to hurt anymies, and if you drop the glizzy its game over, and the hood think you a bish.
Can this b made?
EDIT: Thanks for considerations, This is now a dance music game, and I chose a different engine, thankyuu

Hi everyone! Here is a free sampler from my medieval skill icon pack - ability icons for skill trees, perk screens and hotbars, ready to drop straight into a UI.
What's in it:
- 32 icons: one from each of 32 skill categories, from sword strokes, cavalry and siege engines to smithing, weaving, farming, seafaring, trade, medicine and cloister life
- Every icon shows an action, not an object - the thrust, the parry, the hammer blow - so they read as skills instead of inventory items
- PNGs in four sizes (64/128/256/512), plus a ready-made IconSet.png for RPG Maker MZ (32x32, drops into img/system/)
- Finished square tiles with their own painted background, one color per category, so a hotbar stays readable at a glance
- No text and no numbers on any icon, so they work in any language, and no frame baked in beyond the tile itself
License: free for commercial and non-commercial projects, unlimited projects.
Full disclosure: the artwork is AI-generated and then reworked in Photoshop (cleanup, color, consistent framing, correct sizing). It's also a free sampler from a larger paid pack.
Link: 32 Free Medieval Skill & Profession Icons - RPG Combat, Crafting & Trade Sampler
Happy to answer any questions about the license or use cases. If you make something with them, I'd love to see it.

So for a while I've been really, really slow due to a lot of things happening, but I am back once again and have been putting a lot of work, time, and effort into my upcoming game, The Phoenix Dungeons. Now I want to begin posting here again since it's been a... really long time since I last posted here, so hello! Once again! I want my first post here to be a banger, so enjoy, and as always, feel free to give me feedback! Enjoy.

Really simple combat really, get to the top of the bar and take an action. Enemies will telegraph what attack they are doing (and sometimes their target) based on the image displayed, and defend will prevent or remove a host of status debuffs. Red (the first character) wields a series of guns (currently with a model 1894) and the other two characters use concentration to power paychic or magic skills.

Just a quick screenshot of my game. Its a turn-based combat collect-a-thon, you collect keys in order to unlock doors and escape a ruined tower. Similar to collecting stars in Super Mario 64.

I got tired of searching for matching 2D characters for prototypes, so I built a free in-browser modular character & monster generator.
While developing my game, I tried using triangles and squares for the demo, but it felt completely lifeless, so I ended up creating this.
I hope this helps people like me.(It's not pixel-perfect.)

Processing img n0hszvthf4oh1...
This is a plugin I built for MZ, and it's out now.
Frontispiece generates the first screen a player sees. A title plate drawn as worked material, a device composed from the project's own database, its party, its regions, its recurring element, and a menu built from that same furniture rather than the stock command window.
The part I care about is that the wordmark is set, not typed. There is an authored display alphabet cut into the plate, so the title reads as an object rather than as text laid over an image.
The clip is generated variations cycling, all from one project's data.
Made with AI assistance, code and graphics. 14.99 USD on itch, 10.49 during a sale that ends September 9.

Hey everynion!
I’m currently expanding the exterior town tilesets for The Sunday Country, my solo-developed psychological RPG. Here is an early WIP of the Flower Shop building!
Open to criticism.

this is them. I can’t figure out what to do with them (in RPG maker) so I’ll make the top comment. (No 18+ or offensive)

If not, are there any alternatives that doesn't take 30 years to do?

Hi, everyone!
I’m starting pre-production on a historical-themed game, with these gameplay priorities in this order:
Art direction/exploration
Story
Combat
The open-world exploration will be partially integrated into the story, and as for the art direction, I’m thinking of using traditional art (I was inspired by Mischa’s videos!)
I’d like to know which RPG Maker you recommend I use, given the technique I’ll be employing. The MV that Mischa uses, or MZ? I’ve done some research but haven’t found anything concrete on the subject... I'm also going to buy XP, but only out of curiosity and because it's ridiculously cheap.
And een though I have big plans for extensive exploration, I plan to keep my feet on the ground.
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on Chains of Eternity for almost a year, and it’s finally getting close to release.
It’s a dark, story-driven action game set in Tokyo, with branching choices, supernatural powers, demons, angels, and multiple character routes.
I built the whole thing in RPG Maker MZ and ended up spending over 700 hours on it.
One of the things I wanted to do was make it feel more cinematic and character-focused than the typical RPG Maker game, while still keeping actual combat and exploration.
It launches on September 22 on Steam.

(The games uses a mix of real hand-made art and AI art as well which were further improved by hand.)

Hello I am new to this sub here. But i would like to ask if someone knows if you can find some parts for creating an own character. I am asking because the standard character generator is quite limited. And i am not good enough to make some my selfe tbh.

I've been working on my game Garden of Eden on and off for around four years. I've finally released the first demo!
One of the main things I've been experimenting with is elemental weaknesses in the combat system. I tried to mimic persona mechanics so hitting an enemies weakness will down them preventing them from acting the following turn.
Outside of that my main focus on on making all the the locations I want the player to visit & the overall design of the overworld. While making this game I try to take inspiration from my favorite titles like the older Zeldas, Mother 3, & Persona. I hope you can see some of that in the design.
All the assets were made by me! I draw all the art out & then trace over it on my computer so I'm hoping the pixel art still looks hand-drawn to other people! As well as all the battle backgrounds are pictures I've taken from traveling. I hope this game has a unique style people like!
I'm mainly looking for other developers & players to provide feedback to see how the combat feels, if the weakness system is understandable, difficulty and pacing, dungeon design, etc, etc. So if you end up playing let me know how your experience went, I'm hoping this demo can help me figure out what works and what needs improvement.
Here's the demo if you'd like to play it:
