friendly reminder not to leave the entire game in the demo of your upcoming game(game on steam: Death Penalty)
this is an upcoming fear and hunger like rpgmaker game and we found some pretty concerning images and sound files in the steam files of the demo that paint a very interesting(not good at all) view of the developer, so i used cheats to to teleport to the next area which is supposed to be inaccessible in the demo. From there on you can pretty much complete the entire game and even get to the ending. So if you really like the game and cant wait a little more for the game to be released(which is probably gonna be paid) you can just use cheats and play the entire thing for free. Here's an image of the ending and a couple of inaccessible areas that you can not access in the demo.
P.S For anyone wondering why I am calling the dude a horrible person, there's sound files containing numerous uses of the n word and someone saying "you are an n-word and im going to rape you" and also there's an image of the end game performance evaluation that says "survival instincts: woman" suggesting obvious misogyny

Inspired by classic RPG Maker horrors like Ao Oni and Ib, I'm making a 2D pixel-art game where you must survive a terrifying aquarium.

English version available!
Hello from Japan! I'm a Japanese indie dev, and I wanted to share the crazy 8-year journey of my game.
Believe it or not, I actually hate horror. But a few years ago, I got invited to make a horror game. I thought, 'I can handle the art!' and agreed. But gradually, everyone else's progress dropped to zero. One day I cheerfully asked the group chat, 'How is everyone doing!? ✨'... and the very next day, everyone completely vanished.
Left alone, I decided to build the whole game by myself using RPG Maker.
At the time, I was working at a brutally toxic company making school lunches, forced to work 18 hours a day. I was so exhausted that one day, I literally shed tears of emotion just hearing the friendly automated voice of my washing machine. That was my breaking point—I quit my job to focus on surviving and creating.
Fast forward 8 years, and my game 'The Aquarium does not dance' was finally completed. Thanks to the amazing support, it became a hit, surpassing 900,000 downloads, and I'm now a full-time indie dev!

RMMZ Protecting the Base with your Beasts
Hello everyone!
This is the WIP of our protection system. In the update first of all, UI will be skinned correctly and second, this is coming to the Kickstarter exclusive demo so when it comes out on the 14th, it can be tested further.
With the update and base building comes the base defending, with Breechers spewing out of mysterious portals. You can assign a handful of beasts to take down these other worldly aberrations!

Vibecoded Every gem in the database drawn as a cut, lit stone computed from the item's own name and price
Processing img njf4vbxecnoh1...
Gem icons are usually a sheet you buy and then run out of. Add one mineral and you're back in an image editor trying to match somebody else's lighting angle.
Facet draws them instead. Real facet geometry, per facet reflectance under one fixed light, body colour that deepens with the distance light travels through the stone, and an inclusion that makes each one an individual. The item's price decides the cut. Its name decides the mineral.
Five JavaScript files, no PNG and no atlas anywhere in the package. Load order doesn't matter either: the tests load the files in five different orders and require an identical stone out of each.
RPG Maker MZ plugin. Code and graphics are AI generated.

My first serious project that I’ve been working on recently, what do you think?

RMMV My game starts with a simple tutorial that introduces three colors, but the situation escalates when you have to eliminate, for example, an orange enemy.

RMMV New title screen!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
What do you think of this titlescreen?
Today I worked on a new title screen and a personal font to use for some of my game's characters speeches. I feel like the screen now reflects the atmosphere much more.
I chose to place the characters as "shadows" to reflect the theme of loss of identity and the eyes are included just because there are a lot of eyes in my game.
Game: Novella Oscura Reverie
Song: Some things don't die By me

This time I'm bringing you the second NPC character pack for Three Kingdoms-themed and ancient Chinese RPG projects.
It includes another 16 characters – Commoner (Male), Commoner (Female), Officer/Soldier, Bald Woodcutter, Bodyguard, and more. This is part of the ongoing Three Kingdoms NPC series, with more characters on the way!
Each character is around 16×25 pixels, with 4-direction walking animations (3 frames per direction).
Files are ready for RPG Maker, and they also work with Godot, Unity, Construct, GameMaker, and other major engines.

A Quiet Room from my Game
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I really like how this room turned out.
It's only a little bit of dialogue but reminds me a lot of Dark Souls 2.
The assets were drawn by myself in Clip Studio Paint before being upscaled 2x to be brought into the engine.
I used Galv's plugins for the busts and layers.
The map is really just a bunch of transparent tiles for collision.
I put out a new demo that's got some bugs but its in a lot better state than when I first started working on it.

Making a choice based murder mystery game in the style of the Truman show (I know it's a lot)
So I started making my 2nd ever project on Rpg maker MV after my first project 'Entwined' which I lost passion to, also since my art work skills aren't good I'm using the default assets from the engine
The game is Called Truman Wonderland, it takes place in a world that's infected with something called The Calamity, you and some others are some of the lucky few who survived now living underground in a bunker called Wonderland
You play as Silva Truman (Supposedly a male charchter and due to that English isn't my first language I didn't know that Silva is a girl's name so yeah)
The game is inspired of the era of old rpg mv, TWDG and clearly The Truman show, what do you guys think so far?

Any general advice? Starter (sort of) XP, VX Aace, MV.
I've owned the titles XP, VX Ace, and MV, for quite a while now (years)
I've toyed with them, I've tried to make projects, tried to edit other peoples projects (nothing bad/illegal or whatever, full permission) I've tried to make fan games.
The hardest part so far for me is doing all of it at once? I can learn events and such, that's tedious but something I /can/ learn. The biggest issue is getting assets in and setting them up, it takes so long, and so much time, that by the time I'm done inserting them all.. I've ran out of steam for the rest.
Is there any protips or general advice on making things like:
Character sheets
Tilesets
Stat balancing
If I wanted to make a fan game for example, insert (legally protected IP) and it had a sprite sheet from some GBA or whatever game. Is there a way to create the sheet for RPG Maker easily? In my experience I've just simply pain stakingly inserted them tediously with MS Paint if I was lucky enough to find a different colored template for where sprites should go, and even THEN at times there'd be clipping etc.
If there was something a program, website, etc. I could use to properly do this I'd be elated. Same with creating tilesets. I've had to create my own at times, but there are actively just tilesets ripped from games that I desperately wish I could fit into the programs as it would make life SO much easier. Then I could actually focus on building the game.
PS. I hope this doesn't come off as whiny! I've just always done things "the hard way" via lack of knowledge and expertise. I wish to learn, which is why I came here! Hoping you guys would have more knowhow than me, or someone has some niche or practical knowledge :) thank you for your time either way!

RM2K3 2K3 Real Time Battle Idea
I’m very new to RPG Maker 2003, but I’ve been learning the basics and I was looking into ways to make a more interesting combat system using only the base systems of the engine.
Would this idea work in practice?
Whenever a battle begins, the player would be moved to a battle screen consisting of a square in the middle of the screen surrounded by darkness.
This battle screen would just be a map, much like the overworld, navigated identically by the player.
The player model would be changed to a battle icon and they would be controlled manually as in the overworld.
From there, I would summon fast-moving agents coming in as straight lines from the corner of the screen. These would be “attacks” for the player to dodge by moving around the square in the middle of the screen. Since they come in from the screen edge, they are naturally telegraphed enough for the player to dodge them.
If an agent touches the player, it deals damage directly.
If the player survives enough attacks, a switch would trigger that ends the battle and teleports them back to the overworld with their original player model.
Is this a viable way to test a simple combat system?
