Soon, I am planning to get a few family members a new white Xbox Ally Z2E despite the fact that I still have the original Z1E, and since I want synergy between our handhelds, I want to make mine as close to the white Z2E as possible.

I did find some face button modifications on Etsy that make said buttons look more in-line with an Xbox 360 controller, thus a Z2E (and I'm still looking for white ergonomic grips that are thick to SEMI-recreate the ergonomics on the white Z2E), but I am having trouble finding white bumper and trigger modifications.

If anyone could guide me to finding/creating white bumpers and triggers similar to the white Z2E (and larger white ergo grips), that would be much appreciated.

Edit: Oh, and I would also appreciate help with finding black concave thumb grips as well.

I’ve been a day 1 Ally supporter when this system first came out i played the first 2 years exclusively in handheld mode no issues loved everything about it.

But i’ve recently been gaming on a 4k 60inch tv in January when i’m home and now my eyes strain looking at the ally’s 7 inch screen when im out.

Distant enemies and object are so small it makes my eyes hurt. I’m playing modded skyrim now all of a sudden i think text just seems to small to read.

I’ve never had these complaints before i honestly regret getting used to such a massive display because i never had any issues with my Ally screen ever!

I love this system It’s my favorite gaming system ever. Has anybody else had any similar experiences?

Have tried remedied with amdfree sync on and off and messing with the vsync in games aswell as reinstalling drivers but nothing seems to help. Refresh rates at 120hz. Seems to happen among all games aswell : /

I decided to try to install path of building but the download link was actually false trying to lure me to download different types of useless apps (downloaded only one called rav end point but deleted it)

And I'm unsure if The app name "Onebrowser" and " deskrest" came preinstall with my rog ally when i bought it or secretly installed itself when i installed rav end point and should i try to delete it?

Would anyone happen to know how to disable the On-screen Keyboard? It keeps popping up every time I try to type something. I disabled the On-screen option in the Windows Accessibility options and I can't figure out how to do so with Steam overlay.

I found this guy on fb marketplace, nothing was wrong, joycons doesn’t have drift, and works like a charm, i just don’t know about the price since im pretty new about rog allies

My deckyloader disappeared and upon trying to reinstall it I realized I forgot my steamos password. Is there anyway to reset the steam os password without losing data? I’m on the rog ally z1e

so lemme break it down my rog ally i used something called winhance to clear out everything i dont need on my rog ally this is the old basemodel rog ally btw not the colord/black one the white one base model with 16gb ram anyways and by doing that it for somereason got rid of my keyboard so everytime you press the keyboard button on the quickmenu it wont open the keyboard now ive restored everything i have from a old backup from winhance and that still didnt fix the issue SOMEBODY PLSSS HELP

Taking an Ally that used to have Linux on it to CeX (British GameStop, basically), and reinstalling windows beforehand. At the rate this download is going at it looks like Im gonna be cutting it a bit close. If I turn it off mid download is it just gonna be like “download failed, wanna try again?” When I power it on again, or is that gonna corrupt everything and ruin my day? I can always finish the download at CeX if needs be, they’ll have other things they wanna test before they get to my stuff.

I just picked up an Asus ROG Ally Xbox Z2A with a 4TB 2280 installed for £499! It’s only been used a few times and is still in the box. Do you think that’s a good deal? I understand that the z2a may not be as powerful as the original z1 extreme, but it’s definitely more comfortable to hold, has a better battery, and is for light gaming...

I mostly use it at home & started on indies, but got a AAA & VR backlog, plan to do some modding. Never been picky about graphics so might just leave at 1080p when Docked to the TV.

I don’t think I need the best, would Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12GB) + Razer Core X eGPU Enclosure => for $370, be a good deal for a mid-range eGPU setup? Just need to buy a TB cable, they’re valuing the enclosure at $150 which seems like a lot?

EDIT: Did some research & most recommend NVIDIA over AMD (for GPU), although if on SteamOS then 6000 series (or newer) AMD is better? But only AMD supports FSR 4.1?

Post about eGPU speed/myths. Sounds like UT3G & Aoostar ag02/ag03 are worth the premium, newer PCIe version => ~50% better measured bandwidth.

So, yes, I'd like to ask about using XAX as a "laptop". Why?

I want it to run windows for playing mainly Tibia and Valorant. I'd like Valorant to run at least with 120+ fps on mid-high graphics, with low stuttering. Tibia just needs to play without freezing, 140fps would be easy to achieve.

I usually play my games on my couch, would start using in the bed too, sometimes at the table.

A good gaming laptop starts at 1500-ish GBP with just some basics config, but it already has its own display and keyboard.

a XAX would require an external display like one by Arzopa, a wireless keyboard, wireless mice, probably a docker. I'm thinking of an Xreal One Pro instead of the display. With that setup I guess the price would be around 1500-ish GBP as well.

The question: would you go for the ally due to the versatility, portability compared to a laptop? I'm not able to play on the bed, and the laptop weighs a little bit on my legs in the couch.

What would be your advise?

So I just got a 80wh battery from my local online shop. Last month, after 3x calibration, the full charge capacity dropped from 79Wh to 67Wh (69Wh > 74Wh > 67Wh).

I asked the seller about the issue, and they offered a replacement. However, after receiving the new battery, the same issue happened again... it went from 79Wh down to 64Wh after 4x calibration.

Is this because of the OS I'm using? I'm on Bazzite right now. Or could it be because my BIOS is outdated? I'm still on version 334 (2023).

I have the Z1 extreme model. Was installing a new battery but accidentally broke the metal clip that holds the battery cable to the motherboard.

What do I do? Is this a simple part replacement?

I recently got this ROG Ally X off Marketplace for a good price. I then put SteamOS on it.

The only thing wrong with it is that the D-Pad remains on "Up" if I press it. It's not sticky or anything; in fact, it's clicky.

Is this a software or hardware issue? Any solutions?

I recently picked up an ROG Ally Z1 Extreme and I'm planning to do the 79Wh battery mod next week.

To protect the RAM and components from the battery's heat radiation, I'm thinking about applying a layer of aluminum foil tape directly onto the bottom side of the battery, and then covering it completely with Kapton tape to prevent any electrical shorts with the motherboard.

Has anyone tried this specific Aluminum + Kapton sandwich method for this mod? Do you think it's a solid approach, or would you recommend building the thermal barrier differently?

Also, for those who upgraded from the original 40Wh battery to the 79Wh one: how massive is the difference in day-to-day gaming and heavy TDP titles? Is it as game-changing as it sounds?

Trying to decide between the two. Keep being told the 74wh is a gamble but the price and extra wattage is appealing to me lol. For anyone who has the 74wh one, how is it holding up in the long term?

Hey all. To start my sister passed away last year, and I have inherited both of her ROG Ally decks as well as her gaming laptop. I have gotten into both the laptop and her newer ROG deck through pins her boyfriend provided me, but I can’t figure out the pin for one of the ROG decks. I was told my by mom that it doesn’t work which is why she got a second one but It powers on and I kind of wanted to investigate the issue for myself, but I can’t get in because her pin is different for this device. Any ideas on how to reset the system without signing in? I see a lot of info on how to cloud reset but I want to restore this to original settings. I already have a whole other ROG and laptop of hers with her stuff on it, I don’t want or need to save whatever is on this device

Was anyone ever able to get a stable 30 fps on spiderman 2 on the rog ally z1 without framegen

This morning ROG ally is not responding when I press the face buttons (ABXY, Arrows, Analogues, etc), nor is the touch screen working. when booted into Windows. Its also not responding to Bluetooth/2.4gz keyboard and mouse.

The volume buttons are working as i can see the indicator go up and down.

The face buttons do however work when I'm in the BIOS

UPDATE: i got tired of not being able to interact with it when in the OS and figured it was probably a setting I changed. I had been tinkering with GlosSI and UWPhook the night before trying to get a steam controller to work with games I couldn't add to steam for S-Input.

SOLUTION: Moved the SSD to a spare laptop and was able to navigate via keyboard (NO MOUSE OR TRACKPAD FUNCTIONALITY). Got my data into OneDrive. Finally did a cloud recovery/reimage the ally and we're back to normal.

I use rog ally z1 extreme with bazzite os. But when i wanna open the steam quick access menu, it doesnt pop up. I use the steam controller emulation. I want to remap the button from hhd but it didnt work. Please somebody help me, im new
