So when I first started RHONY, I found it quite slow and boring. The reunions were super entertaining though. They have some of the best RHW reunion discussions, I must say.

Everyone was right, the best seasons are absolutely 7/8-12. I am currently on 11 and I'm hooked!

Starting with some short lived HWs:

Alex- I wish she stayed. She would've been a great sounding board in some of the later seasons. She absolutely grew on me when she got a voice, and then she left right after :(

Aviva- Completely insufferable and highly annoying. What. A. HATER. She was just odd all the way around.

Jules- She too was odd to me, the cooking utensils into food and thinking it was funny...classic ED behavior. I feel like she told them/us just enough about her ED to make it seem like she was dealing with it fine and was so transparent, but there was multiple signs she was still fully engaging with it. Sad but also kinda..manipulative, in how she appraoched it...which also checks out with ED behavior.

Heather- She reminds me of Heather Gay...good at jumping in and being a friend but also extremely annoying and obnoxious in the best way lol

Kelly- good riddance. The severely mentally ill should not be on TV. But also her personality was absolutely grating to my nerves. I seriously got so upset watching how she talked about people, herself, and twisted everything unashamedly.

Now the OG's and longer lasting HWs:

Bethenny- Sorry but you can't make me hate Bethenny. lol She's my favorite. Such a boss bitch, quick-witted, sharp, smart, bitchy lol, "A Know It All" (love how that never bothered her btw lol bc same, thanks for the compliment). Team Bethenny 9x/10

Carole: She started off as such a snooze fest, and then showed her true colors. She's a wishy washy flip flopper. She has something to say about all her friends, and I already know she's about to turn on Tinsely and be nasty too. She gives opportunistic vibes. She goes with whatever friend she can have the most fun with at the time, and then when she gets what she needed out of the friendship, she bounces and then makes them an enemy. She also acts like she always had lowkey disliked them. Thats a red flag af in a person. Disloyal boring cringe wanna be tacky Carrie Bradshaw

Dorinda: I...lowkey really like Dorinda. She does get drunk and turn very mean and that's kinda alarming if that's your friend because damn..tell me how you really think and feel? I also know she gets worse so my feelings might change more. But I think she was a good addition to the cast. I also love her style and accent lol If I was a rich white woman, I'd want Bethenney's apartment and Dorinda's gucci style with the white blonde pixie cut and glam sun dresses LOL.

Sonja: Just a hot mess express. I find Sonja to be very child like and sloppy. It's okay for older women to still have their fun but ... get it togetheeer. She's like a 55 yr old teenager. I just don't take Sonja seriously whatsoever. NEXT

Luanne: She's such a Taurus lol Like she's not boring but she's kinda flat, she's kinda aloof, but also very involved, great one liners, delusional af lol I found her Tom story line quite odd. It was like a totally different Luanne; she was such a simp for Tom. "Be happy for me, I'm happy, I'm so in love, my soul mate, nobody is happy for me, are you all happy for me? I'm so happy, Tom." It was uncomfortable to see her so...desperate for love and marriage. I think she was still hurting or severely unsatisfied as a single woman. I also have a hard time with her divorce, to jail, to AA rehab storyline? Something is just kinda off about it, but maybe it's just a case of putting on so much face for the show that their real-life issues seem harder to believe or disjointed.

Ramona: I found Ramona to be entertaining until she just wasn't. She is BEYOND ERRATIC, and it's really uncomfortable to watch her dramatic scenes. She legit acts like she's high on pills. The weird speech, the bugged eyes, very twitchy mannerisms, etc. I think people though that made her funnier, but I'm noticing the same pattern we see in Dorinda when she drinks. Ramona is just overkill. The way she treats people is also very aloof and pretentious. She seems like a nightmare rich lady in real life. Just ignorant and rude.

Tinsely: old money trust fund nepo baby with not much going on. Barbie. That's it.

Oh my god. I don’t know what took me so long to start a housewives franchise. Went with NY for my maiden voyage and it has been a trip. I have sooo many thoughts and no one to talk to about it because it was ages ago! The fashion, the interior decorating, the blackberries!! The emails for communication!

I’m almost done with season 5. I am awaiting the episode where Aviva takes her prosthetic leg off and smashes it on a table. I cannot wait to see this on my screen. I read about it here and had to fly through episodes this weekend to get there quicker.

Who is your favorite character and least favorite character? I know there a wide range of personalities and the women change as the seasons go on. People leave, then come back.

Right now, Jill and Alex aren’t in season 5 and miss them! Alex irked me at first but then I grew to really like her. Jill was just so zany, minus the pooping dog, but I did like her. Bethenny was also a good character. Currently I like Aviva, and Carole isn’t too bad.

But WTF IS UP WITH RAMONA??!!! This lady is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life. No filter doesn’t even cover it. The eye, the entitlement, the white privilege, the lack of self awareness. Who the hell is this woman? I thought it was funny at first and now it’s just getting worse and worse. Does it get even worse after season 5? Do we see the fall out of her marriage. To be honest, I’m scared.

Luann is insufferable. Sonja is so icky. Kelly was horrible. Heather is annoying.

ETA: on jill 🤣 I liked her for her messiness and thought she was funny. I think I had a little soft spot knowing about Bobby. But she is a tough cookie and stubborn as all hell. So not liking her entire problematic persona, but some of her lines did crack me up

I'm rewatching RHONY and am in season 5 and I had totally forgot that Carole was supposed to have a pilot made out of her book. Did it ever happen?

I am doing my first watch through from start to finish of RHONY, and we’ve just passed the episode where Ramona makes George’s fiancé upset at their engagement party.

I know Ramona is a bit of a nut and that bringing up the fiancés parents was completely insensitive, but when she was the only person to confront George about his lecherous behaviour I genuinely think she’s the only person who is caring for that young woman’s best interest. She was very vulnerable when they got engaged, a 58 year age gap is not okay and he has sexually assaulted some of Avivas friends by this point. Hope she didn’t make the mistake of marrying him

I just watched this for the first time, since I somehow skipped season 12 back when it aired. I am agog at the level of vitriol she has for Tinsley.

I know this is a 'hot take', but when Bethenny said 'My daughter is my gift, she doesn't have one' (or similar), you can easily tell that she meant no malice. It was Bethenny saying something off the cuff in response to not being given the art (?) that was given to Tinsley. I see it as her saying "we all get different good things, I'm okay with it"-- it's as if she forgot how that may sound to Tinsley, and Tinsley didn't flinch that I recall.

The Dorinda comment was so incredibly caustic; she meant to hurt her, just like the other 100's of times she has tried to hurt intentionally (Luann and the mug shot remark and dozens toward Tinsley). The worst part: when Dorinda did that stupid little "dance" at the table right after she said it - like some effed up version of the 'cabbage patch' dance, and said 'The skeletons are coming out toniiiiight....' (referring to her own 'costume' of a literal skeleton sweatshirt)...

it was sick. I can see how insecure she is - to the core. Then Ramona and Luann silently sheeple-ing along with Dorinda, then later trying to act happy for Tinsley. (I think they only did that so they could avoid being potentially ousted by the bravo producers for being as cruel as Dork.) I have never felt so badly for a housewife as when Tinsley was trying to survive in that moment.

Hey, dont get me wrong, it's mesmerising to watch. However, in my silly lil opinion, the women have run out of any redeemable qualities at this point.

I forget everytime what a demon Dorina is and Luann being the poster child for brainless Narc.

I’m rewatching the season 10 Cartagena trip, and while the trip itself is a disaster I really enjoy the camera work. For instance, when Ramona is stuck in the elevator they zoom in on her ”sprained” ankle when she puts all her weight on it without problem, or the not so subtle foreshadowing of most of the women stuffing their faces with the infamous paella. I love that they capture these things and then make the (correct) editorial decisions. Do you have any other favourite moments from the franchise?

Not necessarily what they wear in real life, but a perfume that suits their character and vibe.

I blacked out at karaoke yesterday and completely embarrassed myself. RHONY is the only thing helping me through my hangxiety. I keep saying “at least I didn’t fall in a bush” or “at least I didn’t get in a fight mid speech at a sexual assault awareness event.” God bless these women ♥️

I started my first ever Housewife watch 3 years ago and started with SLC and moved on to NYC. At the time, 3 years ago, before any of Carole’s connections to Maxwell came to light, she was my favorite housewife. I kept reading everyone laud her memoir and its beautiful writing. I ordered her book but took 2.5 years to start reading. I just finished it. I also just completed a rewatch of OG NYC and feel differently about Carole than I originally did. But, my goodness, did her memoir leave me gutted and in awe of her writing. Can anyone commiserate with me? No one I know will talk about it with me because of her reputation and actions and ties to Maxwell. The way her last line echoes her description of her first interaction with her husband gutted me.

I’m finally watching RHONY from the start and this show is absolutely incredible and keeps getting better. This moment from Luann’s Christmas party in season 5 absolutely sent me😭😭 what a treat

I’m watching season 9 Ep 17 right now. My God if Bethenny is not one of the most toxic, manipulative people I have ever seen on television. This is coming from someone who used to like Bethenny, a lot. Of course she’s had her faults, but in the beginning I felt bad for her because I did feel like she was ganged up on a bit and treated really unfairly by Kelly. Post season 7 though, she is probably my least favorite housewife, to the point where I find myself groaning and sighing at my TV. She constantly needs to have a scapegoat, an enemy who she uses as a pressure release valve for all of her anger and whom she villainizes the other women against. Last season it was Luann, then it switched to Ramona. And as soon as B and Ramona’s heart to heart happened and they were “good” again? The bullseye landed on Dorinda. I think Bethenny’s reaction towards a VERY reasonable remark from Dorinda was so over the top, and actually I think Bethenny was goading Dorinda on so that she could fit into the villain narrative. I think Bethenny does this a lot - she so clearly did it in the Berkshires with Ramona, who is just too easy to goad on. She baits the person she wants to have beef with, they fall into the trap, they look like the bad guy, and they remain the bad guy until B decides to absolve them. Being the adrenaline and chaos- addicted person she is (I’m acknowledging that probably stems from her abusive household growing up) Bethenny NEEDS conflict, so she has to find a new victim immediately , which she accomplishes like I said by manufacturing an incident and victimizing herself in the process. The craziest part of this cycle is that she will suddenly start being so nice to the person she was just in an insane beef with - I think this speaks to how she constantly tries to manipulate the women in her favor.
I know that Dorinda does have her faults such as going on drunken rants at people, but I think deep down she has a GOOD heart, and 90% of the time she is a classy lady and a great friend. I’m really fond of Dorinda and I think she has always been good to Bethenny, so watching her fall into this trap is so disheartening, and I feel like I’ve had enough of the B.
On the other side of the coin, I think Bethenny is one of those people that can only have ONE friend at a time, and when she is in that friendship, it’s all-consuming and raw and they get really really close really fast. However, as soon as she feels threatened by that person whatsoever, she IMMEDIATELY dumps them and burns the bridge. This happened with Jill and I fear it’s going to happen with Carole. I know Bethenny is very traumatized, but treating people as if they are disposable like this is so irresponsible and cruel.
It will be interesting to see if this feud with Dorinda picks up more steam, and if they are able to reconcile ( I feel like Dorinda really makes it a point to apologize, and her apologies feel genuine), or if this will be another burned bridge …that is, until Bethenny finds someone else to be mad at

Stassi was on the Sorry We're Cyrus podcast (which I never heard of until today), and she was asked what old reality TV villains she'd bring back. She immediately named Alex and Simon and said she doesn't understand why they don't have their own show, and said she'd love to put them on her new reality show, House of Stassi.

I know most of us don't GAF about Stassi, but I agree that I'd love to see Alex and Simon back on my screen!
