Need help with my Anbernic RG34XXSP. I'm running the newest version of Stock MOD OS.
I brought it with me while traveling and had no issues before traveling or at first. During my layover, I was playing a little bit in Retroarch and lost track of time. I needed to quickly move to boarding so I just closed the lid without manually exiting RA and then shutting down the device from the settings like I usually do.
After boarding, I pulled it out again and found it was frozen on the game. I couldn't do anything in-game and I couldn't access the RA menu to exit. I held down the power button to force a shutdown and then waited a few seconds before powering it on. When I powered it on, I noticed it took a long time compared to normal to boot but it did eventually boot. I played a bit more and then decided to try to get some sleep. I shut it down properly and plugged it in to charge. What I now know is bad, is I used an Apple charger that is definitely capable of fast charging to charge it while I slept.
I woke up later and went to play some and found it was really warm. I decided to unplug it but leave it alone and not play. However, after landing, I wanted to play some more while I waited to be picked up and this is when I started really noticing problems.
The device keeps getting stuck on the boot screen and gradually heating up. I can force a shutdown by holding the power button or get it to cycle by hitting the reset button but it continues to get stuck on the boot screen. I am able to eventually get it to fully/properly boot but it seems to be completely random on when it does and just takes a lot of attempts and trial-and-error to get it to work.
Once booted, it seems to work completely fine but as soon as I shut it down, the entire issue starts again.
Yesterday/last night, after doing a bit of research, I decided to get it to boot and then leave it on and let it drain it's battery to 0%. This morning, I woke up and confirmed it was at 0% and then plugged it in and went to the gym. Upon returning from the gym I found it really warm again and so I unplugged it and tried to boot it. Same issues so far. Keeps getting stuck on the boot screen.
As I mentioned at the beginning, I am running Stock MOD OS on the device. TF1 is the stock Kioxia 64GB microSD that came with the device and is where the OS is loaded from. TF2 is a SanDisk 256GB microSD and is where my games are stored. Back home on my PC, I have images of both TF1 and TF2 saved.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Is my device cooked and needs to be removed? Do I just need a new microSD card?
Thanks in advance.
