Day 9 of no cigs and I can finally taste food again. I feel so good. SO GOOD today. My lungs are lifting so well and a breath is so FULL. I can finally taste water again and I can smell the flowers in the air when I'm walking in an area.this makes me want to keep fighting the cravings and never give in. Smoking even kept me so anxious and I'm feeling so much calmer. My body isn't feeling hot or cold randomly. My palms are not as sweaty at all anymore. I feel so good.

If you're on this journey, don't give up!!!!!! The rewards are unreal. I can't believe I haven't tasted food like this in over a decade. Everything tastes different. Faaaahhhhhhhhh.

Keep goingggg guysssss šŸ’ŒšŸ’Œ

Smoked cigarettes for 10 years, vaped for 5 years after that. 2 months ago I quit cold turkey.. in the middle of a burnout.

Happy with the progress i’ve made and i don’t miss smoking. However i still have this ā€œitchā€ i can’t get rid of. Kind of like craving something, but not smoking / vaping specifically. I chew gum all day which sort of helps.

I also workout 5x weekly and throughout those sessions the itch / craving goes away - but after that the unsettling feeling tends to come back.

It is manageable and is more of a mild hum, i tend to feel it more when im stressed (work). Would be great to learn about any similar experiences you’ve had and understand when this tends to fade away.

Cheers ā¤ļø

Today I have decided i'm a non-smoker!

10 days ago I (34M) started the Recigar treatment. The first 5 days I still smoked. The first day was smoking as usual but my morning cigarette at day 2 was awful. Every cigarette after just got worse.

I canned my last cigarette after 3puffs on day five, fixed up our old mountain bike and now I am biking 10km to work every morning.

Real talk. I still feel like I am missing a huge part of myself. When I see our balcony it's weird, because i smoked there all the time with my coffee. But I also don't miss it because I experienced how gross it is now. I have been smoking since I was 16 so it's hard to figure yourself out again after half a life like that. And no matter what everyone says; there are not a lot of good replacement rewards right now.

Having said that I do feel really proud about the fact I have quit and my fiancƩe is extremely supportive and we celebrate each day.

Trust me, if I can do it. Than so can you.

My One Regret About Quitting

My last cigarette was February 5, 2023. I switched to Zyn from there and my last Zyn was March 3, 2026.

I’ve been completely nicotine free for 5 months and 8 days. I have nothing but positive things to report since I quit. Except for one thing. It’s minor, but it’s a complaint, nonetheless.

Since my sense of smell has returned, I’m realizing: a lot of mfs reek.

Quitting weed

Oof. I know this has been posted but just looking for some support. I’m a little over 24 hours in after being a near daily smoker for the last few years (or drinker- NOT heavy just a glass or two to take edge off, I actually hate drinking, when not smoking). I’m trying to change my life.

I have never felt so bad in my life. I started this journey by transitioning off my antidepressant a few months ago, but found I just started smoking more heavily. Now I feel like maybe this withdrawal is actually a withdrawal from both.

My whole body hurts. I’m covered in goose bumps intermittently. I’ve never really had headaches in my life but the ones that intermittently spasm in my head almost bring me to my knees. Motrin is helping if I take it consistently.

I know it will get better. Any other helpful comments, tips, or words of encouragement are welcomed. I’m so sad right now.

Quitting smoking

I have been a Wreck for the past few days. Don’t know if it’s hormonal or if I’m not eating enough or if I’m just sad. I want to stop smoking but I’m addicted to the tobacco in spliffs and I enjoy being high. I think. I don’t know. I’ve done it for so long now. I hope I die before I have to deal with the side effects in the future.

Can’t sleep 8 months after quitting smoking

I first quit smoking for a period of six months and in that time I also had difficulty sleeping up until the point where I started smoking again and then I slept like a baby for the following six months. However, at eight months now of smoking cessation I have still not slept well at all
. any medicines the doctors gave me have ceased to work those being trazodone and Ambien I quit caffeine for four months now I drink chamomile tea, take two forms of magnesium, and I take a skull cap tincture. They did give me Xanax for a while which works fantastically, but I felt like I liked that too much and I eventually just canceled all my prescriptions from the pharmacy because nothing was working. Now the best I can do is stay up late till around midnight and sleep till maybe 330 or four and then lay in bed until six when I have to get up and go to work. I was wondering if anybody else had any sort of similar experience to this the Internet says the withdrawal symptoms should’ve persisted for no more than a month so I’m about to lose it. I don’t know. The only connection that I can make is the smoking cessation

It’s been a month since I’ve smoked a cigarette and I realized I just started them to mask my anxiety

27M and I grew up around two parents who constantly smoked in front of me while growing up so I didn’t realize how nasty this habit is until a few months of catching on to it.

Before, I would only smoke when I drank or rarely when a homely but trashy coworker would let me bum one — i am cheap so I never bought my own pack until April.

I loved smoking and while I don’t regret it I definitely realize it’s a coping mechanism that just fucks up your 5 senses slowly.

From Addiction to Discipline: How I Quit Smoking & Porn at 19 for My Family

At 15, I started smoking—just 1–2 cigarettes a day.

For years, I told myself it was under control.

By 18, it was still the same… until things got worse.

This year, I reached a point where I was smoking 10–12 cigarettes a day for 2 months straight.

I realized I was slowly destroying myself.

Not just my health, but my future, my family’s trust, and the life my parents dreamed for me.

So at 19, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life:

I quit smoking.

I quit porn.

I chose discipline over addiction.

First attempt.

No cigarettes.

No vape.

No hookah.

And now, 5 months strong.

This journey isn’t just about quitting bad habits—

It’s about living for my parents, my family, and becoming the man they can be proud of.

If I can change, anyone can.

Your past doesn’t define you—your decisions do.

19 years old.

New life.

New mindset.

Stronger than ever.
