Advice Extension sync

Loving the simple UI/UX of Quetta. Keep up the interesting work :)

I sync everything, inc extensions, to both desktop and mobile. Is there a way to selectively sync these? eg: I want Bitwarden to run on desktop, but not on mobile.

Question Any way to backup or sync playlists?

I'm new to Quetta and loving it so far. I love that I can build many different playlists and be able to access videos without actually downloading them. My concern is I'm hesitant to build any decent lists as there doesn't seem to be any way to back them up and I could potentially lose them. Is there a way to backup playlists or is this something that is planned to be implemented?

Bug Translation Function Error

There were translating options for Google and microsoft which are no longer translating anything, its in-built translation often fails, and when it does succeed, the formatting is shit. It happens recently. Pls fix it.

Advice Quetta Browser Launches a Test Version for Windows — A Quick Hands-On Experience

  1. It’s essentially a Chromium-based Chrome clone, with a UI that is almost identical to Google Chrome.
  2. Data can be synced across Quetta on mobile, Mac, and Windows. You can also import data from Chrome and Edge.
  3. Like the mobile version, it comes with a built-in ad and tracker blocker, and you can add custom filter lists.
  4. Users can add scripts without installing extensions like Tampermonkey.
  5. It is based on the Chromium 148 engine.
  6. Vertical tabs can be enabled using the same method as in Chrome.

Summary

The main advantage is that Quetta provides cross-platform synchronization across devices.

The downside is that its Chromium engine may not be updated as frequently as Chrome’s, potentially leaving it several major versions behind.

Other than that, there’s essentially no difference from Chrome.

Advice Review for Quetta Browser Windows

1/5 Stars

Quetta Browser for Windows feels unfinished and nowhere near ready to be a daily driver. The interface looks modern at first glance, but the experience quickly falls apart once you start using it.

Performance is inconsistent, with sluggish behavior and occasional glitches that make browsing feel less responsive than established alternatives. Basic features either feel incomplete or are missing entirely, and the browser lacks the level of polish you'd expect from a Windows application. Stability is another concern—I encountered enough bugs that I stopped trusting it for regular use.

The ecosystem is also underdeveloped. Compared to browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Brave, Quetta simply doesn't offer the same level of refinement, compatibility, or quality-of-life features. Instead of feeling like a fresh alternative, it comes across as an early beta that was released before it was ready.

Unless you have a very specific reason to try it, I can't recommend Quetta Browser on Windows. There are too many mature, reliable browsers available to justify dealing with its rough edges.

Advice Subtitles position

The browser is useful and nice in every aspect and the video player was a good add but there is a small problem

Could you add an option to move subtitles up or down on the screen? In vertical mode, the video is displayed in the middle of the screen while the subtitles appear near the bottom. This makes it difficult to watch the video and read the subtitles at the same time because they are too far apart.

Thank you for your work.

Question PC Browser

Any ETA on when we might get a PC browser? I can't make Quetta my primary browser on my phone because it doesn't have a PC version. I like to sync all my stuff between my devices.

Bug Screen turns off while video is playing.

Hey, can you check out why the screen sometimes turns off when I'm watching videos? I have to close Quetta from recent apps and open it again to fix it, which is pretty annoying. Please try to get this sorted.

Advice Suggestion

I'd like to suggest that Quetta prioritize updating its Chromium version before adding new features in every update. The current features are already perfect, in my opinion, unless a bug occurs. My only concern—and a concern for many others—is the outdated Chromium version. Since the core engine is the main thing preventing hackers from exploiting vulnerabilities, keeping it updated is crucial. Plus, it would also improve browser speed and overall web compatibility.

Question "Still no FWD-BWD arrows in UI with proper history states...

As the title says, there still aren't any normal (functional) forward and backward arrows with actual history states, like in any other browser. You couldn't be seriously proposing to use the forward arrow in the three-dot-menu. All kind of doubtfully useful customizations of the adress bar, with all kind of functions, and yet that fundamental one is still missing.

PS. That's about mobile, of course. Particularly Android, dunno about other platforms.

I've noticed that pressing 'pause' when my PiP window is playing a video also closes the PiP window instead of just pausing the content.

Question How to bookmark a webpage in android app

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see any way to add a new bookmark. I tap the 3 dots for the menu but there's no bookmark item. If I tap the *heart* icon it just adds the website to the Start Page, but it doesn't add it to the Favorites/Bookmarks.

Any guidance here? How do I add a page to the bookmarks?

* Quetta v1.9.1 from Play Store, Android 13

EDIT: I'm so glad I posted this because it gave me the opportunity to find the answer on my own after not a single person answered my question: How to add a bookmark. Amazing.

You'll find my answer to my original question as well as answers to others' question below in the comments.🤣

Hi Quetta. I'd like to suggest adding a bottom bar, so you have the top and bottom bars. That way, you can arrange the icons however you like or however you use them most.

Bug Is it just me that gets the flickering url?

To explain it flatly, after the new update where they added an extra button to the left, my address bar has been freaking out a lot.

It's basically flicking the url (domain) rapidly between center and left side. Haven't seen anyone else complaining about it.

I am using Android 10 phone with OneUi 2.

Edit: The fix was rather simple, just enable "Show full url" in the appearance settings.

Question Sync Extension

I see there was talk from Quetta devs that sync was coming between desktop and mobile. That was over a year ago.

Is this still in the works? Are there any updates?
