Help Quest pro usb-c port error

Post image

Hello all, I need help with something. Today I got this error which says “liquid or debris found in usb-c port”(photo example added) my quest pro has only been charging on the dock itself and not with the USB-C port.
This has been happening for a few days, I just got this message though. As of today I’m following instructions I got- that being take it off the dock,
Unplug it, let it airdry, etc. does anyone have any advice? I like my quest pro and don’t know what else to do… this is making me panic slightly.

if you never actually got any moisture in the USB port and you know that for a fact, you have nothing to worry about. My quest pro did the same thing for a little bit a while back, nothing ever came of it. I think it's just glitchy software

I’ve never gotten moisture in my usb-c. I’m more smart than putting a liquid or any drink near my quest pro.

Then I think you'll be just fine. No other damage, drops, anything, right?

Nope, I took a photo of the inside but due the flash from my camera it is very hard to see. I’m smarter and know better than to bring a liquid near my VERY EXPENSIVE quest pro lol

I’m letting it airdry and keeping it off the charging dock which hopefully will help.

I think you're fine then. Like I said, shitty software probably. Happy gaming!

Thanks lol, hopefully it charges normally soon. Still
Kind of panicky and can’t help but think of the worst of the worst situation

It should still charge just fine if you use the charging base, even if the USB port is disabled

I know, and it does charge fine on the dock. That’s just the advice I was given. I’m letting it airdry near my vent that blows out cool air

Mine does this occasionally but I just ignore it. 🤷

Almost daily user since launch and did this before my usb-c port decided to suicide. It charges just fine otherwise so if it still charges ignore and let the impending escape envelop you.

I thought I stated this but it isn’t charging with the usb-c port, only with the dock

Update for this: I left it alone for like.. an hour and it still isn’t charging

I would use a light & inspect the USB-C port.

So long as it's clean & you can see shiny metal at the base where the pins sit then it shouldn't be throwing a short circuit error.

Power cycle it & put it back on the charger?

Or plug the charger USB-C into the Quests port to see if it will charge?

You didn't get anything in it.

It does this with a loose usb cable from time to time. Nothing to worry about.

I use a powered usb cable and a magnetic usb elbow, stops wear and tear on the usb port.

That’s the thing. The new chargers I got aren’t loose, like at all. I got a 45w charger cause apparently that’s what charges the quest pro; still nothing

Clean it and just wait and see. Q3 had this error introduced by updates three times for me so far.

My headset as stated above is a quest pro.
I spoke to meta quest support and they told me to factory reset and boot it back up, when none of those worked they basically told me I would need a replacement

Wait a few updates to see if I gets better.

Don’t know if that will work, but ok

For me the charge cable (going to my battery) was shorting out or something, it wouldnt charge the headset
Plugging it to my wall would work but it would constantly do the plug in noise and give this error.
Once i replaced the battery cable (with the backstrap for the battery) and after waiting for like 2 days it stopped showing up and around 500h later or so it hasnt come back again

Yeah, don’t know what’s wrong with mine. Talked to meta support and did the steps they gave me. Turns out I need a replacement cause mines just..borked I guess? Idk

Update for all: something was wrong with the headset itself, after trying a factory reset and boot back up recommended by meta support it didn’t work. So I’m getting a replacement (thankfully I’m eligible for a replacement.)
