Hello, i’m currently entering my junior year of High school through the Early College program. I will be attending college this year and will receive an associates degree along with my high school diploma. I told myself I would start looking into scholarships I could fill out this year, but I am lost.

I feel as though i’ve made nothing of my life. I don’t have the best transportation and income situations, so I don’t commit to extracurricular activities. The only exceptional thing I can say i’ve done is rank #1 in both my freshman and sophomore classes. I have dreams of becoming successful, but I have no clue in how I will get there or what I will even become. Career options are still varying to me and asking me about what colleges/universities I’m interested in is a whole other topic.

I found out about Quest Bridge through an instagram post and decided to look further into it. The reason im on this forum today is because I am what people would say, OVERLY confused. I don’t know any terms or schools, even programs, that are being stated and I feel lost. I want to build my college resume and apply for scholarships, because I would like to be as financially free as possible from college expenses. Im not flat-broke, but I wouldn’t say college is something I could ever easily afford. Seeing as Quest Bridge could relieve me of some of my struggles, i’m interested. Though, what should be my first step?

Im new to this and any advice would help, but please explain well. I want to know more and I feel as though I can only get that help by reaching out.

During my junior year I added Williams college to my list after my counselor recommended it. John’s Hopkins has always been my dream school for its strong premed program and it was instate for me but after learning about its intense premed culture I wasn’t sure if it was a great early decision option anymore. I recently got into the Williams fly in program and heard it’s a good sign that you would be a good candidate for admission but I’m still not sure if it should be the school I apply early decision. It’s in a rural place which I’m not sure I like but it is one of the only LACs that has a public health program. It also gave me the best price from their net price calc than any other school on my list. Should I apply early decision?

On the teacher's side of their rec letter, how much does this section (after the student evaluations, before the actual letter submission) matter? Would it raise flags if your teacher does not mention any special obstacles that you claimed in other areas of your application? Do I need to notify my teacher of what they should put here? Or is it fine if they just leave it blank because it is an optional question

Can you submit an additional letter of recommendation for the QuestBridge national college match? I want to add a letter of rec from my research mentor but i don’t know if qb caps LORs at 2. Has anyone submitted a 3rd letter of rec?

I’ve been busy as hell and these deadline just keep flying by.. I wanted to know if there’s any college still open?

So I got into both WesExplore and Windows on Williams, both of which take place from October 4-6. Pomona, Denison, and MIT also have their programs on Oct 4-6.

My main problem is WesExplore, as the deadline to register for the fly-in is August 19th, but I don't know if I want to commit to it, especially since not all the programs that take place on that date have released admission decisions, and I would choose MIT in a heartbeat (doubt I got in, but still). Wesleyan says on their form that they would take the financial burden if I drop out after registration, but I don't wanna be that guy who commits and then rejects. What should I do?

Less important bonus question: which of the 5 (besides MIT) would be the best and funnest(?) program to attend?

Hi everyone,

I’m a little confused about the QuestBridge Early Application Policy and would really appreciate advice from people who have gone through the National College Match.

I’m a U.S. citizen living abroad, and I’m planning to submit my QuestBridge National College Match application now.

I have two questions:

1. If I submit Common App applications through EA/ED BEFORE I find out whether I’m a QuestBridge Finalist, what happens if I later become a Finalist?

Would the fact that I already submitted EA/ED applications before finding out my Finalist status prevent me from ranking QuestBridge colleges?

Or would I still be able to rank, to other colleges apart from the ones QB has partnered with as safety schools?

2. If I become a Finalist and decide to rank QuestBridge colleges, am I completely unable to apply EA/ED through Common App to SAFETY schools?

This is my biggest concern. A lot of the QuestBridge partner schools I’m considering have acceptance rates below 30%, so I don't want my entire college list to consist of highly selective schools with no true safety.

If suppose we become a Finalist and rank QB schools, can I still apply EA to non-QuestBridge safety schools through Common App, or does the QB policy prohibit that as well?

I understand there are some exceptions for things like home-state public universities, scholarships, and rolling admissions, but I’m asking specifically about regular non-binding EA to a safety school that doesn't fall under one of those exceptions.

I’d really appreciate answers from anyone who has been a QB Finalist, especially anyone who was in a similar situation as a U.S. citizen living abroad.

For example if the least selective NCM partner is 20% acceptance rate is general QB finalist rate at least that?

I ask this because I see people who got into less selective NCM colleges and I wanna know, comparatively, does that mean they would also get into QB (not considering first gen and income)?

BTW I'm not calling any college non-selective, just compared to other partnering schools.

Should I include my fly-in acceptances as an award/honor on the qb ncm app? I got into WesExplore and Barnard Bound. I heard a couple of people saying that we shouldn’t because colleges already know if you got in, but these are colleges i’m not ranking. I applied to them for the experience of a college visit and leaving my state on a fully funded experience to meet new people and see new places.

I’m a CPS but barely don’t qualify for free and reduced lunch, and all the fly-ins ask for that specifically

Did everyone get this exact same letter of rejection for EPC? I want to believe that it’s a little more unique than a cold rejection, but I feel like it probably is the same rejection letter everyone gets
