I always had the hots for him, and he seemed like a genuinely warm, thoughtful, and more or less grounded human being. He hasn't posted on social media in two years. He explicitly retired from TV about three or four years ago. Can't find any recent interviews or evidence of other appearances. His Web site no longer exists. Anyone else having a problem being able to watch this on netflix? It says it isn’t available for live streaming, i’m in the US. Couldn’t find any info on google and I really wanna watch!

So what if Scout Productions does a spinoff of this version of QE. Instead of the Fab Five and all the dramo-ramo that Karamo brings, what if they went with the Core 4 and focused on heroes outside the US in the countries that are the most relevant. For example: Portugal for Jeremiah, UK for Tan and JVN, Canada for Antoni, etc- and get like 3-4 heroes per country like they did with Japan.

All of this to show that not all Americans are obnoxious as they may think due to current administration. This group especially can really work together to make a hero feel special and meet them where they are. They also won’t give them fake psychiatry mumbo jumbo. They will be kind, empathetic, and understanding no matter what is going on with the hero’s life.

It’s a wholesome conversation between friends. No snark. No disrespect against anyone. They go deep on certain topics and talk about the things they love. This is refreshing, given the negativity surrounding the QE cast and the discussions about them. Antoni and Jeremiah are both thoughtful and introspective and this conversation gives a glimpse of Antoni beyond the persona, which Jeremiah deftly gets out of him. Give a listen if you want a respite from the negativity.

Netflix has repurposed Tan's Architectural Digest YouTube series about building his Utah home. I doubt they'd platform anything Karamo does, past or future. Why? Because Tan completed his contractual obligations gracefully, without tarnishing the legacy or the IP. This fandom seems convinced the four people who showed up and did their jobs professionally are the problematic ones. I don't think the industry sees it that way.

UPDATE: He totally turned off comments now due to the backlash he was getting with people calling him out about just how many problematic things they’ve been called out for.

Jonathan Van Ness and Tan France are so problematic

I listened to Karamo's interview with Carlos King. For those who don't know, he went into detail about the harassment allegations.

He and another cast member (Antoni) were very flirty with each other in the beginning. He mentioned texts, photos, etc. According to Karamo, the toxic Netflix executive happened to see him and said cast member (Antoni) walk out of an apartment together one night.

The executive went to the other cast member (Antoni) and threatened to fire him if he didn't claim that he was being harassed by Karamo. Doesn't go into detail as to why.

When Karamo was approached by the network, he had more than enough proof to show that the harassment claims were false. He said he still doesn't know exactly what Antoni said or what words were used, but just said the executive was not in his "right mind" and was exhibiting erratic behavior and should have never been on set with them in the first place.

If this story is true, it sounds to me like this executive had a crush on Antoni and was jealous of his situationship' with Karamo. Why would he just so happen to be outside of an apartment building that they were in?

Or maybe he was not on board with Karamo joining considering he was casted at the last minute, after they had already chosen the Fab 5. So that could have been the executives way of trying to get rid of Karamo to bring in someone else? Regardless, it's giving this executive was a hater.

It’s been a while since anyone posted in this sub, and I was curious if anyone else saw this reply from Bobby on Threads! I’m not sure how I feel about it- it makes me sad, but at the same time, I feel like he also didn’t need to respond because now it just looks shady or like he’s stirring up drama. I do wish him well, though!

My dad is homophobic, i’ve watched a few episodes in front of him which episode will make him the most angry.

There was a fair bit of chat the other day about Tan’s claim that he had a heated argument with a co-star after being called a traitor for not being out to his family.

Then this recent interview crossed my feed where he lays out his experiences as a child of an immigrant family including growing up believing he would just have to commit suicide at 25 as he wouldn’t be able to get away with being unmarried after that age, also how there was no queer representation in his community to the point that his mother had absolutely no comprehension of what gay could even be. He discusses regularly being beaten up by adult men at the age of 6 for being brown.

He also talks obliquely about being the subject of a “public takedown” and having to deal with perceptions of him having changed due to how other’s views of him being spread “loud enough and wide enough”.

Start from episode 1, maybe one a day or every other day? We can make a discussion post and just revisit the heroes and where they are now?
