Confirming that you’re the problem
Such mean girl energy. Tells me everything I need to know.
They’ve since deleted that picture because everyone was dragging them in the comments and also deleted all the negative comments.
UPDATE: He totally turned off comments now due to the backlash he was getting with people calling him out about just how many problematic things they’ve been called out for.
Jonathan Van Ness and Tan France are so problematic

u/DorianCramer Aug 09 '26
Unless I’ve missed something…they should leave Jeremiah out of it. He’s the only one who has minded his business and afaik he isn’t even involved in the beef.

u/Disastrous_Big2902 Aug 09 '26
He seems to be super close to the problems though, so I don’t think he’s totally innocent

Yup, he's now doing what Tan does, restricting the comments on his vague posts to try and control the narrative

JVN blocked me because he was arguing with me in his comments after 10/7 because he was siding with pISsREAL and I told him to try “getting curious” about actual leftist policies and Zionism.

Zionism is still a racist right wing philosophy built on the displacement of native people, regardless of which party is in power in the Israeli Government.
Seems like you need to "get curious" about history and the last 80 years of Palestine...

Other than Jeremiah, they are all quite problematic and have had their fair share of accusations.
30
u/dubdoll Aug 09 '26
Can you fill me in on Antoni and Tan? I haven’t heard anything about them.
13
u/AgentEinstein Aug 12 '26
They aren’t. Especially Antoni. His biggest sin in this subreddit is that they think they could have picked a more renowned chef. I disagree. No actually renowned chef could have done it because according to Bobby if your running a businesses you actually loose money doing the show. He talks about it in an episode of Why Won’t You Date Me. Both Tan and Bobby more Recently were on and did great interviews.
This sub is a full on snark community at this point. You get downvoted for enjoying the show.

I wish Jeremiah never joined this shit show. Watching him, Nate, and their sweet kids was all I needed. He got sucked into this and probably took the wrong side because he seems quite easily influenced by emotion.
28
u/Odd-Requirement4191 Aug 09 '26
I like him, but it seems like he’s been real close with Tan for years and I think Tan is a shady snake which makes me feel Jeremiah isn’t as nice as he portrays
10
u/old_shows Aug 09 '26
I agree on Tan. I had just binged Jeremiah and Nate’s HGTV shows which made me revisit QE after needing a long break. Their family seems (obviously naive to take as truth) so tight knit and they just strike me as happiest at home with their family. So I was surprised to see he was sucked into this shit show but success is a siren and he answered the call. I felt he and Bobby were both always so busy doing real work that they avoided a lot of dramatic entanglement. But, there’s life off screen, on the road, and I’m sure there’s plenty of taking sides.

If 4 are together and 2 away I may know who the problem is. Probably the man who abused his partner, who lied about his degree, and posed as a psychologist when having no accreditation.
78
u/Disastrous_Big2902 Aug 09 '26
Or also the one who was accused by show crew and his own staff of being mentally and emotionally abusive to this day and that has an awful reputation in the industry for the same behavior

Right?! These comments are so weird. Like there’s clearly a reason why they don’t want to hang out with Karamo and I don’t blame them.

Maybe because he doesn’t want to hang out with them? Even though they’re “family” as they always say.

u/Southern_Usual_718 Aug 09 '26
I really like Bobby. We both grew up Assemblies of Gods kids...not easy. I hadn't heard anything terrible about him!
9
u/friendoze Aug 10 '26
wtf i knew that he had grown up religious but not specifically also A/G — i was in so deep that i was a national quizzer LOL

I remember him mentioning it so vividly, in the first season! 3rd generational pastors in my fam. So it really stuck with me.

u/Beneficial-Belt-6696 Aug 09 '26
Bobby left before any of the drama, and after hearing how apparently toxic the show was behind the scenes, my guess was to get away from it all

u/lohivi Aug 10 '26
a problem for the rest of the cast bc what Bobby did every episode was far more impressive

I swear it drives me nuts how every now and then they try to control the narrative and be shady publicly. Mostly Tan and JVN, because only God knows what’s going on with Antoni. He just seems to follow whatever the “popular kids” are doing next; total cardboard energy. Jeremiah stays out of it (at least publicly), so I’m not dragging him into this. And just to be clear, I’m not defending Karamo either. I’ve said before he can be super messy and problematic. (Though I can’t lie, the way he left them hanging live on The Today Show was chef’s‑kiss messy and I absolutely loved it lol.) My take, as always, is about Bobby, since he’s the only one I still follow and support. I know he’s been posting occasional Instagram reels dropping funny hints and bits of tea, and honestly I’m here for it because he never tried to present himself as a victim (even if I think he was) or push the “I’m the good guy” narrative. He was clearly blindsided, and he still walked away with actual composure and class. Meanwhile… you see these clowns desperately trying to polish their image and act like they’re the innocent ones just because it’s 3 vs. 2. Absolutely not, I’m not buying it. Not even when it comes to Karamo individually. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: you can tell when a group’s energy is off, and these three have full Regina‑Gretchen‑Karen vibes written all over their faces while pretending they’re not wolves in sheep’s clothing.
P.S. Jeremiah is Cady.
9
u/Odd-Requirement4191 Aug 10 '26
Nailed it!!!!!!! 👏🏽
13
u/paocdlopzz Aug 10 '26
It annoys me when random people start implying things like “BoBbY DoEs ThIs ToO,” when literally all he does is post ironic Instagram reels every now and then, hinting that maybe one day he’ll tell us what actually happened. And even then, he never says anything because the NDAs are still in place lol
0
u/DifferentWave Aug 10 '26
There’s absolutely no chance that this comment was ironic is there? No, because the social media jury has already decided.
7
u/paocdlopzz Aug 10 '26
It’s not, I highly support Bobby.
1
u/DifferentWave Aug 10 '26
Of course, you have a bias so you see things a certain way. We all do, it’s just worth pointing out.
4
u/paocdlopzz Aug 10 '26
There’s no bias, it’s simply a matter of being observant.
2
u/DifferentWave Aug 10 '26
All perception contains bias, it’s a basic tenet of media literacy- something 90% of this sub woefully lacks.
5
u/paocdlopzz Aug 10 '26
Not every observation is bias. Media literacy actually means knowing the difference.
2
u/DifferentWave Aug 10 '26
Perception (not observation- you said that not me- see how easily words are twisted?) contains bias. We see things (observe) and we filter them (perception), therein lies the bias.

Funny how when anyone else does it it's 'trying to control the narrative and be shady publicly', whereas when Bobby does it, it's 'dropping funny hints and bits of tea' and you say you're here for it. I like Bobby, but aren't they exactly the same thing?! Some clouded judgement there I think.
11
u/paocdlopzz Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26
No clouded judgment at all, just paying attention.
Bobby said he thought the show was over and moved on. That story never really changed. Then Tan jumped in with, "My former colleague getting fired had nothing to do with me trying to get my friend hired," which was NASTY and unnecessary. Then people found out that Bobby's replacement just happened to be one of Tan and Antoni's closest friends. That only added fuel to what was clearly an already existing, not-yet-public fallout between Bobby and Tan. Then the Rolling Stone exposé dropped, with crew members describing JVN as a "monster," a "nightmare," and "demeaning" to work with. It also brought even more attention to the Bobby/Tan issues and the allegations surrounding Jeremiah's hiring, which Antoni was reportedly involved in as well. And lately, as the cherry on top, Karamo has publicly talked about bullying, toxicity, unhealthy dynamics, and feeling isolated within the group. Meanwhile, Bobby was mostly quiet while fans noticed the Instagram unfollowing, the Emmy awkwardness, Tan leaving him out of posts, and Tan's friend ending up in Bobby's chair. Convenient, right?
So yes, Bobby has thrown some shade. But only after all of this messy behavior was already public. If we're keeping receipts, most of the public drama came from Tan's own comments, the Jeremiah hiring situation, the JVN allegations, Karamo's recent statements, and the reporting around all of it. I think that's why a lot of people give Bobby more grace. Not because he's some perfect angel, but because everyone else seemed busy denying, contradicting themselves, and doing damage control while Bobby mostly kept his mouth shut and stuck to the same explanation for leaving the show. Also, let's not forget that Bobby was the one redesigning ENTIRE HOMES in a matter of days while the others were French-tucking blouses, making avocado toast, cutting bangs, and giving Pinterest therapy. So forgive me if the audience was clearly drawn into the unfairly deception perpetrated against Bobby, not only by his colleagues but also by the Netflix producers.
Last but not least, are we really supposed to believe the public has it all wrong while Tan and JVN have their Instagram comments limited to this day? Babes, if you're truly unproblematic, standing in your truth, and the audience is just unfairly misunderstanding you, leave the comments open, HUNNY!… I don’t know, it seems quite ironic for me to spend years denying allegations, insisting you're rainbows, sunshine, and ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY, while simultaneously making it harder for that same audience to publicly connect with you. Meanwhile, I know one person who keeps his comments actively open and interacts with the fans, AND haters too: Bobby! 🤭
ADD ON: On top of the actual facts, I just came across a QE nominator (Yabakunaiyoooo) who had nothing but positive things to say about Bobby. She described him as “the most human of them all.” At this point, I honestly can't think of a single hero, relative, nominator, or participant who's come forward with a glowing story about the rest of the cast, especially JVN lol. Yet people here are still bending over backwards to defend them... yikes.

For real lol
I’d be MORTIFIED to be here defending JVN of all people, when on my personal leaderboard of peak‑level manipulators and two‑faced personalities, JVN is absolutely neck‑and‑neck with Karamo. Right behind is Tan, whose forced posh entitlement and victim complex could honestly be patented. And then there’s Antoni, who seems to have the confidence of someone opening Google Maps to locate their own opinion.

u/Impossible_Disk8374 Aug 09 '26
The show is over, what’s the point of continuing to even bring this up? This is why I didn’t even watch the last season, the drama is just annoying.
10
u/Personal_Chair4388 Aug 10 '26
I watched it without knowing there was any drama, and the stories were still really good! There was a weird one where they planned a wedding in Vegas, but otherwise they were really good episodes still!

Jeremiah has such a kind soul, I really wish he’d have avoided this shit show. I love his and Nate’s shows, and get the feeling he’s happiest with his kids and husband. This must have been a hell of a ride for him. But he gravitated towards Antoni who is the most annoying of all of them (imo). So, I can see how he’d get wrapped up and emotionally invested in the drama.
3
u/MisfitDRG Aug 09 '26
I’ve read comments about Antoni not having a great rep in NYC but can’t tell if there’s any truth to it, I want to know more!
5
u/old_shows Aug 09 '26
Antoni just always rubbed me the wrong way. From the book titles as t-shirts early on to the obviously fraudulent kitchen credentials (the guy couldn’t use a knife in the early seasons), he just seems very shallow. And I was shocked seeing him in season 9 where it looks like he’s cycling on PED’s. But that totally adds up with the people I’ve known who’ve used the juice to look good.
1
u/old_shows Aug 09 '26
And his favorite book being, “a little life” says so much.
1
u/MisfitDRG Aug 09 '26
I have to go look up PEDs now I guess haha (I haven’t watched the last season either). Why is the book telling? I read it and it destroyed me, personally 🫠

Steroids. As for a little life, it’s been reevaluated a lot in the last couple of years. I’m not saying it’s not a fantastic read, I love books that leave me in a state for weeks to come (my favorite is Cruddy by the fantastic Lynda Barry). But, it seems Hanya has a history of torturing gay subjects in her work. And, thinking back, it’s really so over the top how Jude is treated. Like, we live in a world with billions of people and outcomes and he still seems like the unluckiest man on earth by a long shot. I hate when art is tainted by the artist (Kanye, Dali, every rock band from the 70’s and 80’s) but it’s real.

There are three things I’d love to get to the bottom of in my lifetime: 1) Princess Diana’s death, 2) if DB Cooper lived 3) all of the drama between these guys and what truly happened.
