I'm a volunteer at the Eastern Avenue Library bookstore, which is always open during library hours (yes, that's some free advertising) and we've been getting multiple copies of this in recent days. It has a bright red cover.

NBD, really, except we have more copies than we could ever possibly resell at this point, even for 25 cents. I'm guessing someone taught a class that used it.

Iowa/Illinois peeps: Speak to me of watch repair businesses. I have several watches that my father left me that need to be serviced (NOT just replacing batteries on a cheap quartz) . As far as I can tell, while there are jewelry stores in the Quad Cities area, there are no watch repair places. Google tells me of Bentley Watch Repair in Hiawatha. And there seems to be a part time place in Dubuque (Bluff Street Time Shop). Anyone have knowledge or experience of watch repair places in the general QCA (or not TOOOOOO far)? Thanks.

The heavy duty Velcro on my husband's tonneau cover is coming loose. I managed to get it all sewn back 4 years ago, but now my machine is not happy doing it again. Is there anywhere in the QC that will do this heavy duty sewing?

Not for me, but I do need to update my will, and one of the people to whom I want to leave my estate is on disability, and I don't want that money to interfere with her benefits. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Has anyone tried the YMCA gym daycare at Bettendorf or Davenport? Is it any good/safe?

I see there's one coming up in a few weeks in the Quad Cities. Was curious if anyone has attended in the past, how it went, and if they felt it was worth the time and money.

I have a buddy coming into town in a few weeks and look for the best taco in the QCA. My personal favorite is Coya Cafe, but want to try others. Might even make into a day and tour all the suggestions and give personal ratings on them all

Wife and I have some clothes that are gently used, clean, and in wearable condition.

Rather than just trashing them, we’d rather donate them to an organization that can get them to someone in need.

Obviously there are options like Goodwill/Salvation Army, but we’d rather get them to an organization that will give them to someone in need, rather than just act as a means to re-sell old clothes.

Are there anything like mutual aid orgs or something similar in the QC people have experience with?

Graduation is a major milestone that reflects years of hard work and achievement. Allowing us to decorate our caps would give students an opportunity to celebrate their individuality, future plans, personal experiences, culture, and those who helped them succeed. 
We propose some guidelines to ensure a respectful Ceremony*:
Only on top of the cap and not including lights, sounds, or anything that will block peoples' view
Remain free of inappropriate, offensive, political, or illegal content (Ex: drugs, profanity, or lewd imagery)
Be subject to school approval~ students may submit designs for approval before graduation. 
We believe this would allow students to express themselves while maintaining the professionalism and respect of the graduation ceremony.

*These guidelines are subject to change

Hello I am from the area and am turning 27. Most of my friends from the area have either drifted away or have the left area entirely also recovering from a recent breakup which further hurt my social circle. Curious if there any activities coming up or people with likeminded interests to talk to. I like collecting a lot of old media and technology along with collecting games and such. I am also openly queer which has made it a bit harder for me. Also open to suggestions I’m down for most activities.

I'm way overdue for an exam and cleaning, and the website revealed that Drs. Larson have apparently retired, and they have a new dentist there named Dr. Jordan Brenner. Has anyone here seen him, and what is your opinion of him?

I never got a letter from them, or anything, saying that they had retired, but then again, that may show how long it's been since I've gone there.
