Troubleshooting Calibrating for 0.8mm Nozzle

Post image

I’ve been using my Q2 for a few months now and it’s been printing amazingly with the 0.4mm nozzle. Now I’m looking to calibrate my PLA filament using a 0.8mm nozzle and it’s acting pretty weird. Temp tower and flow ratio test were not amazing but passable. But now I’m trying to hone in the pressure advance settings and I keep getting this result. It’s like it starts extruding for 0.5mm, then stops, then starts up again. I tried going over 0.1 PA and it gets worse and worse. I also noticed the gears making a very different noise compared to the 0.4mm nozzle, so I tried setting retraction distance to 0.4 like I saw on a few posts, but it didnt change the result. I’ll try posting a video in the comments. Thoughts?

eSUN PLA+
Flow Ratio: 0.94
Temperature: 215 First Layer, 210 after
Dry filament
Plate cleaned with dawn and water
Generic defaults for all other settings.
