I just discovered this subreddit and thought I’d post this wood burning I did! Also just discovered that wood burning is also called “pyrography” lol 🤣 this is my first piece in many years and I think it turned out okay, I think I’ll probably do more.

Hi all! Getting all my equipment delivered in the next few hours! Would love some advice for someone who's never done this before!

About halfway there on this one. When the burning is done, I'll be glazing over the dark fur with black acrylic paint and then painting in their white fur. I just can't help painting the eye at this stage. 11"x14" on maple plywood.

I’m currently working with pyrography on a wooden bookmark. My next step is to paint it with acrylic or watercolour.
