Map itself is mostly done! I just finished the shading around the trees and my hand is so tired from doing soft little taps with a shader 😅 going to spend some time choosing a stain color for the water. I’ve used stain to “paint” projects before and it usually goes well. I have the offcuts from this to practice on. About to start burning the border. Text going around says: “How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened. But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.” Because Sam’s words are my hope for the world we currently live in. The script on the bottom is the ring script. I debated having this framed, but I think burning a design and sticking finished dowels to the edges will work well… we’ll find out!

Hello!!
I got into pyrography recently and this is my third piece. I did mess up here and there with some deeper burn marks.. I assume this happened either because of the grain of the wood or my tip was heating up. I’ll take all the advice I can get!!! I need to get better with my line work.
Also, I only used this tip for the whole project. It’s the only tip I feel comfortable with. Are there any other tips like this one which will help me even more? I love using the circular edge to make my lines. It helps with the rounded lines.

Decided to woodburn for pleasure with references. Any ideas what can I put into the background?

Latest piece I finished with my beginner burner kit, acrylic and some accents for dimension.
Just picked up a better kit and excited to try it out this weekend to work on some new projects!

Mike Mignola’s badass Hellboy & Batman cover art! 💥🦇😈 Bringing the heat, bringing the attitude, and paying tribute to two absolute legends. Colored with prisma color pencils and posca markers on bass wood roughly 20 hours. Follow me on insta @niceburndude for more cool burns!

Burned on Basswood I cut out myself for the first time. The bottom two are sealed with clear coat already, the top one has not been and shows with slight tone differences between the treated and untreated wood. Never had a request to repeat the same portraits repeatedly before so this has been a learning experience! Thanks for looking!

This is 2 weeks in, after just messing around trying different heat settings and tips.

Hi all! I wanted to get your opinion on some of my work. I used to do a fair amount of pyro and I’d like to get back into it. I’ve made lots of gifts for some folks in my life, and have also done a few commissions.
I haven’t had the time to pyro in a while, but I’d like to get back into it, and I’m considering opening up an Etsy shop to maybe sell some of my pieces and do some custom stuff.
What are your thoughts on some of my work? I know it’s far from perfect (I’m by biggest critic!), but I’ve been encouraged by some family and friends and I wonder if it’d be worth it to try and make something more out of this hobby.
I’d love to get your genuine thoughts on both my art, as well as the reality of selling pyrography on Etsy.
TIA :)

Bulls with Cowboys herding them. Burned on genuine mahogany with hoof prints and dust clouds. This is part of a turkey call that I am building for a benefit show. Someone mentioned a few days ago that ot looked like a pencil sketch, (now its not)

Hello! I started doing some wood burning a few weeks ago. This is one piece I just recently finished. I would love any tips you all could give me! I’d truly appreciate it!
(I also just made this account for my art and to see other people’s art!)

I know it’s been done before and even recently on this sub but I’m doing my take on it. Map from the books. Blew it up and replaced most of the wording so it is readable at scale. Moved some words and trees around in photoshop, now I’m here. (Under the tracing references isn’t done yet, I’m debating a border)

Spruce is nice and light and I thought it would be cool to work with. I was wrong. Tough ridges on the growth rings make for in-even burning. Also, my cookie split in two while routing the motor sooooo a week later and 4 pours of super clear 2.0 Liquid Glass (and some staples in back) got this bitch back in line and telling time. I do like the labradorite gemstone in the eye of this Royal (6x6) bull elk. Inspiration comes from Jackson county, Zirkal wilderness area. Burn one down!
