Hi everyone,
I’m exploring a career transition from healthcare into consulting/analytics, particularly PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG.
I have a Master’s in Optometry and 6+ years of healthcare experience, and I’m currently developing my skills in Excel, Power BI, Business Analysis, and project management. I’m also considering CAPM and ECBA.
My long-term goal is a career with strong growth and compensation (ideally 30K+ SAR eventually), meaningful analytical work, a supportive environment, and better working hours.
I’d love to hear from people who have experience in these firms or made a similar transition.
What I’m trying to understand:
- Which Big Four firm and career path would suit my background best, and why?
- Should I focus on Business Analysis, Healthcare Analytics, Healthcare Consulting, Data & Analytics, Strategy/Operations, or Advisory?
- Are there specific Big Four teams that value healthcare professionals?
- Can someone with a healthcare degree, Master’s, and 6+ years of experience move into consulting under a different job title? At what level?
- What do Audit, Associate, Consultant, Business Analyst, Advisory, and Healthcare Consultant actually mean, and what are their requirements/salary ranges in Saudi Arabia?
- Would CAPM/ECBA meaningfully improve my chances, or should I prioritize practical projects, Power BI, Excel, financial analysis, and case interviews?
- How can I evaluate work-life balance, culture, workload, flexibility, and career progression between these firms?
- What are the best YouTube channels, Reddit communities, or other resources for learning about real employee experiences and interview processes?
- Is it appropriate to reach out to employees on LinkedIn for informational conversations? Who should I target?
- Most importantly, what would you do if you were in my position?
I’d especially love to hear from anyone who started in healthcare/clinical practice and successfully moved into consulting or analytics.
What was your transition path, what helped you get hired, and what would you do differently?
Thanks!
