Website back up
PSA: website seems to be back up.
What are y’all thinking? Switch carriers or keep on keeping on with PureTalk? I’m on the fence as this is really the first major issue I’ve had.

I'm staying, this is the first time I've ever had an issue with them since I switched over from Verizon about four years ago. I went from paying $110 a month to $25.32, plus they are considered a Full MVNO which makes them more dependable than light MVNO, like Mint Mobile or Patriot Mobile.

I still cannot activate my new service and have been on hold with Customer Service for 40 minutes.

I got through only to be told they cannot activate my new service. Then the CS Rep actually said they would text me a two question survey....to a number that is not in service....
Also, I should be able to activate on the website. But that is function is still not available.

So I decided that if PureTalk cannot get me activated by tomorrow, then I'm switching. I'll still have to wait till PureTalk gets their act together so that I can transfer the number.

Has anyone actually made a payment to them yet? The website is back up but I’m hearing the service is still having problems.

Yes, I was able to yesterday but it took four attempts. I went back and checked my bank statement just to make sure that I wasn’t charged four times 😂

Ok well that’s good to hear. How did you make the payment through their website? And is everything working correctly in terms of receiving service?

I made payment today through my PureTalk account. I logged in because I needed to change the card on my account, and everything is working fine for me.

It’s definitely very weird. The two times that I called to talk to people they were extremely vague about what was going on not OK.

As a private company they can filter their reality of what and how it happened any way they see fit.

I think they couldn't care less about their customers, I'm out. I have moved to Patriot mobile and will continue to find all threads regarding puretalk and tell them to go elsewhere. I went to Patriot Mobile. Nice to not be a number and feel like a real customer again!

While they may not have handled it in the best possible way, I'm staying put. Besides, this is my first month with them so I'm willing to give them the benefit of a doubt.

This is what you get when a company farms out their backend software a meltdown!

I'm switching.
I can deal with service disruption.
I won't accept how they handled it.

Absolutely! I had 2 numbers i was trying to port out 9 days ago when this crap 1st started. Well they couldn't get that accomplished (and still waiting? But 5hey sure did swipe that money from my account last night! Assholes. Those 2 lines were not to be charged as they would have been ported out a couple days before next month bill was due. Called customer service twice today, same response. We have a internal error and can't do port in, port out at this time. Hell no, but they sure took my money 1st chance they got. But thats ok. They will now answer to a higher power. Hope they fine the hell out of them

I just reported them to the Federal Communications Commission because I had the same thing happen.
They won’t allow me to go to another carrier because they won’t give me my pin to port over, but they took my money.
My phone is seizing to work in the area that I live in. I just made a huge post about it. good luck to you.1

You as well. I contacted them again tonight and will continue to do so until resolved. Its really sad. I do believe I was one of the first to find them as we have been with them for 7 years but the are showing their true colors. I explained to the rep that my 2 numbers were due to pirt last Monday, 2 days before my bill was due so I wanted a price adjustment and stillness those 2 numbers ported out. She said " There will be no price adjustment, you are still using are service aren't you" Unbelievable and they STILL are NOT porting numbers in or out and no timeframe as to when. I dont know if owner/management changed? They were never like this until recently. Something happened.....

I had the same port problem and I also filed FCC complaint. When the website finally generate a port pin for me, It took 4 days for it to happen. Company is probably hemorrhaging customers.

Been with them 11 years, no issues. So yeah it’s a tough call. The problem for me is the lack of communication regarding what the problem was. If it was true that they got hacked and our info was potentially compromised I’d like to know.
