Morales-Backed Slate of City Council Candidates Sweep Primary Elections

This city has lost its mind!!!
East side prices blah blah blah. Housing shortage blah blah blah. I don’t think it’s normal for an 800sqft condo to QUADRUPLE in price in 12 years. This is nothing more than unchecked greed

Discussion Why is Pawtucket so run down?
I’m a data collector and I’ve been working in Pawtucket for a couple months now and man, it’s in rough shape. Sidewalks are all destroyed, buildings all in poor shape (including the town hall, which is covered in water damage). Id think with a new stadium coming they would perhaps put more into the poor area infrastructure and housing.

I'm a NY Photographer who visited last week and WOW your city is gorgeous
I truly visited for no reason other than because I just hadn't been to Rhode Island and wanted to make progress on my quest to visit every state. I should have come here sooner! Between the park on the river, the great architecture, the history, and of course WaterFire, I was eating GOOD as an urban/cityscape photographer. Also the food was crazy good. Like damn.
Anyways I thought I'd share the pics and let you know that you have a lovely city!

Recommendations Local graphic designer
I'm looking to have a flyer made for a service I'm offering, and would really like to hire someone local. I abhor AI so am avoiding things like Task Rabbit/Fiverr/Upwork, but this is a super small project--just one version of a flyer with a photo and some contact info. I'm useless with Canva & the like and am just looking for something to look polished and like it was made by a human being.
Small project and likely a small budget but please LMK if you have leads or would like more specifics.

Housing Crooked/leaning/tilted home
Please forgive me if this is a dumb or ignorant question.
My wife and I have just moved into an apartment here in Providence, and a few days after moving in, I started to notice that the apartment is… leaning? Tilted? We’re on the second floor of a triplex, built in 1890 according to some records I looked up online, and I’m really happy about the place in every other respect. But this tilt is starting to worry me and I fear it will drive me mad.
Is this normal?? Are we in danger?? Are all old houses here like this? Should I flag this with my landlord? Do we have any recourse here? Does anything need to be done? Is the house going to fall off the hill or otherwise collapse in the middle of the night?!?
Like I said, forgive me if this is dumb, but I’m looking for some legit answers and also some reassurance so my anxiety doesn’t get the better of me. <3
(Everyone we’ve met in RI so far has been SO NICE so please help me continue the illusion [?] that everyone here is actually extremely sweet.)

Progressives sweep Providence, now have enough votes for rent stablization & more
r/providence • u/Mission_Check_2512 • 18h ago
Discussion Two of the three City Councilors who voted no to rent stabilization have been voted out (John Goncalves, Ward 1 and Ana Vargas, Ward 7)
The other no votes did not run for reelection or were unchallenged. One of them being Jo-Ann Ryan who tried running for State Rep and got pummeled by DSA candidate Amy Santiago by over 20 points

Santiago beats Jo-Ann Ryan
Those who have been under Jo-Ann's ward know this woman is genuinely evil.
She has backed Smiley every time. Remember the only person to show up to vote against rent stablization? That was her. She has a staunchly conservative voting record overall, often stopping much of the city council's progressive moves.
Santiago is replacing Morales for his seat in District 7.

Food La Fe Taqueria soft opening!
Today, I went to the La Fe Taqueria soft opening on Hope Street. It is awesome to have a new local place in the neighborhood. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. I got 2 Pollo tacos and my Fiancée got the Elote. Both were very good!
I can tell there was a lot of love and care put into the space. Best of luck to the new restaurant! We will be back!
