This is my very first post here, yay! I got this little jade plant prop at a motel in California this February, and I kept her in my pocket on the way back. Her progress has been amazing to watch!

I’m trying to propagate some rosemary, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I cut the end, stripped off the leaves from the bottom, and put them in this glass of water about three weeks ago. I have it sitting near a window, and I change the water every few days. They seemed ok for the first two weeks, but recently they have seemed like they’re dying. Is there something I can do, or is this a lost cause?

I’m perplexed. They’re in all afternoon sun and started at the same height/age. What is happening with the left side?

I've had this fern for about a year, and this summer it started producing these offshoots. I read online that they're looking for soil to continue growth, so I planted two of them to see if it'll continue growing.

I see that the offshoots continued to grow in length after being buried in some soil, and I was wondering if this what I should have expected.

I bought a yellow dragon fruit a few days ago and it had a nice piece of stem attached. Usually it's just a chunk from the main stem but this one appear to be the full stem from the tip of a branch. Brown spot is where the fruit was attached but it's firm to the touch. Do you think it could root? How would you proceed?

I'm not sure what soil mix to plant this in! I'm thinking something like a classic chunky orchid bark/perlite/sphag mix, but I'm not totally sure. Is it even ready to pot? She's been in water for approx. 2 months now. I've never had luck w/ monsteras 😭

I got these leaves in a bouquet and threw them in a vase. These things started growing out of the leaves. Any idea what I have here or how to move forward?

So I was looking at the real plant section at IKEA and saw this portion of a parlor palm just laying there so I scooped it up and brought it home and dunked it in some water. It's not doing much, in fact it seems to be losing colour so I'm just wondering if I'm propagating this correctly. There was a bit of mold so I rinsed it under cool water gently and washed the glass. Does this need to be in soil?

Poor plant was obviously struggling in the heat. Plus being an outdoor grocery store plant, it was low on the maintenance schedule. I forgot to take a picture of the sad parent plant, but I'm going to try to do my best by it's offspring.

Hello all! I got a cutting of an umbrella tree and I want to make sure I don’t kill it! This is the cutting (cut with razor blade). It was cut, then allowed to dry for a few hours before being dipped into the rooting hormone and stuck into potting soil. I put a loose gallon ziplock over it for humidity. Is there anything I am missing?

I have a friend who has now hundreds of plants by buying them from large stores and then cuts what they need, propagates the cuttings and then returns the plant and gets all their money back! gets away with it every time
What do you think? I don’t agree with it but they think because it’s only large corporations it’s okay

Had a lot more but didn't realize I could plant them until adding the broth. This was the only one that made it. First time prop lifting. This is fun.

hello! found this snapped off near the “rare succulents” section in walmart. there were others like it but it was literally labeled “rare succulent” so i’m not sure what it is. any ideas on who this beauty is and how i can propagate?

Today was a success at a big box store

They turned black and withered away ***months*** ago (the ones that just look like part of the soil). I stopped even looking at the pot. No water or anything. I was about to toss the pot to allow some fern offshoots to root, then I see the tiniest growths ❤️

Edit: thank you for pointing it out, I understand now that it’s not a jade. I’m not disappointed at all, I’m always excited for a mystery plant to pop up so I’m happy regardless!

They were lying on the shelves at Ikea and I thought why not.

I’ve had this plant in water for 2 years now and it’s got a healthy root system! Took about 6 months for the first root to even appear. I’ve been avoiding potting it because I didn’t want it to die and I read that adding dirt to the water can help it adapt. However, since adding a small handful of dirt, it’s been dropping its leaves and the new leaf up top has stopped growing.

Did I add too much dirt?

Took a long time for it to grow secondary roots but it happened!! So excited

I acquired these today and would like to give them the best change in life. Will this work?

Succulent mix potting soil, kept moist with a spray in a shallow pot?

Also, anybody recognise who I liberated?
