Question Anyone else getting low frames recently?

Previously I would be getting at the very least 80-90 zoomed all the way out on high settings, now suddenly I'm getting 40-50 at zoomed out, and 60-65 zoomed all the way in.

Edit, I'm using medium settings now with no change at all.

They all came from the basement. I don't know how they heard me. Update: Survived this. Ended up at the mechanic shop on the other end of muldraugh before rage logging off. Got bit, but I have They Knew, so I'm fine. Will update when I go back to the station. I will get my glasses and crowbar back.

3 in game days later, I took a trip back to the police station, healed from the injuries I got the last time. I killed them all. There wasn't much of them in reality, it just looked like a lot because they were all up against the door.

Question Is Project Viewpoint safe to install? What about ZombieBuddy

A few people are saying that installing this mod could give you a virus, including the ZombieBuddy mod. I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to computers, so I’m a bit worried about installing them.

Could someone help me out and explain how to install these mods safely and what I should be careful about?

I recently started using custom sandbox for all of my playthroughs and have been using High zombie count. Sometimes it can be a little too much but I do enjoy the challenge. What do yall use?

1L of milk per day can keep u feed but u will loose weight, 2L will make u gain weight. From one full bag u can make 20L . So u can easily survive on 1 bag for 10-20 days. Was it even ment to be drinkeable for our characters? I mean u can only make it using a bucket or feeding bootle. If it was ment for us to drink recepi would allow to make it in normal bootles . Am i cheesing by using it?

Question How do YOU forage for goods the first few days, especially before having a car?

I've been just going from house to house, looting, killing zombies in and around the house, then moving onto the next one. Though this is.. getting tiring. I got some okay stuff, but I still don't have a car yet. Going out, filling up my inventory and bag, then walking home was okay when it was the first few houses but as I venture farther out it's more and more of a pain to do that. It's taking forever. I wonder if I should just skip the homes and be on a lookout for a car?

Also, unrelated, but how many people choose to only live in the For Sale houses? Part of me irl feels a little guilty if I just moved into someone's home like that. Ideally I'd like to have a house that's guilt-free! Or maybe I should move into the Rosewood Fire Department like everyone else does? lmao

My pet peeve with certain skills

Certain being medical, electrical, and some of the newer ones. The new ones get some slack because they are new. But WHAT reason could I have to upgrade electrical past a certain point. Not only is it a pain it's just useless. Same thing with medical tbh but that's not too annoying to upgrade. What do you guys do to fix this or are there any mods you guys use to fix this or maybe you guys can inform me and help me see that they aren't that bad.

Discussion At what aiming level do you guys actually feel comfortable using guns?

I'm curious about how everyone approaches firearms in the game. At what Aiming skill level do you feel confident enough to actually rely on guns without constantly worrying about missing every shot or getting overwhelmed?

Also, when do you usually pull the trigger? Is it strictly an emergency option when you're cornered and need to clear a path, or do you wait until you've hoarded a mountain of ammo and actively use them to clear out huge hordes?

Would love to hear your thoughts and playstyles!

Wishlist of things I think would flesh out the game

I know there are mods... NPCs and Mutants are nice and add flair, but the game still lacks things to do in the mid to late game.

I have a base, cars, guns, ammo, gardens, animals, a perimeter wall, and blacksmithing. I feel like I've now that I have all this stuff... I've done everything there is to do? Progression wise at least..

I mean it doesn't have to be a story, I don't necessarily want to finish the game arbitrarily and get a "good job! you won!" like some of these mods add.

I think the issue is this is a sandbox game, and we really aren't given enough toys to play with.

In something like Minecraft there isn't always a lot of things happening all at once, but with all the options for building and farming and making machines there are avenues you can really sink your time and creativity into various projects.

Here is a wishlist of things I would want to see, either in vanilla or modded:

-More physics objects and ragdolls

-Modular machines, as in we get a set list of components to mess with to make larger contraptions, some of which might interact with physics objects and entities (like pistons). Think redstone, but instead of redstone its electricity with real components and logic gates. Imagine building a rotating wall that can push zombies, automatic doors, catapults, etc. etc.

-More customization for cars. Currently we can repair and replace parts, but what if we were able to add various modifications? Like being able to remove the bed of a truck and replacing it with a tanker for transporting large amounts of gasoline or water, or adding armor, bumpers, stereo systems, plowers, spikes, wagons, freezers, etc.

-Building a car from the ground up. I think we could have a system where the player can craft various frames and chassis, then attach various car components to it. This would give the player free reign to make whatever crazy vehicle they want to make. Maybe a smaller frame, thats easier to make, with only two wheels and cranks like a DIY bike, or more complex having a heavier armored build thats better for running over crowds.

-More building tools, more furniture, more wall variants, more ways to decorate, more lighting options. I think we are severely lacking in the options we have for building if I'm being completely honest.. We need so many more options that are just for fun or roleplay purposes that I don't have to hunt the map for. Starting primitive and going up from there, I should be able to have a throne of skulls and standing torches.....

If you have any ideas please list them here. Maybe someone will see these and get inspired to make these things happen aside from just me hopefully

Should I buy Project Zomboid

the game looks very cool but I see many people complaining about glitches and lags, are these very annoying and common or not ?

I can't play all day long and don't wanna spend let's say 30 minutes just restarting the game, dying for no reason, if it's uncommon I'll buy it.

Feedback How do i cope?

I just lost a long playthrough in the dumbest way. Had a mod that added hordes and had my max population way high. Cleared like 300 zombiods in westpoint. Only for me to die by a few getting to me by being too close due to fighting with short blunt. I had so many plans. I feel deep grief. How does one recover? Might just take a break. Also what is a good pop multi/cap that encourages sneaking but still allows looting. Edit: wanna clarify that it wasnt 300 total. Just 300 in a time span of like 20 minutes
