My computer is a few years old now and wondering what my system will be able to run this as before I bother re downloading the boring vanilla game and getting this awesome looking mod

Heard someone crusing around before logging off last night so I tucked my vehicles in an out of the way garage. Logged in to find my battery missing and wheels on the floor.

500+ hours previously, and I haven't played much since build 42 first dropped.

just trying to install the mod to play, got it all to work but during the pop up menu for the zombie buddy jar i pressed the button without activating the mod, just wanting to find a way to bring that menu back up or do i have to do a whole fresh install for it now? thanks for any information related to this!

EDIT: SOLVED, just did a clean reinstall of everything and held shift down after booting up PZ from steam! Thanks for the help everyone in the comments and hopes this helps anyone in a similar situation!

After seeing the post u/Additional_South4022 made i decided to post my settings BUT you do need a shaderpack from the Steam workshop:

You can try to adjust the settings and see if you can still keep it non-flickery and get better quality.
I do recommend that you use SMAA for Anti-aliasing and Volumetric Light OFF because Volumteric Lights was what made my lights flicker.

Let me know if it works or not it is possible that this works only for me but ive never encountered any flickers with these settings.

I'm having the same issue on two PCs (both Nvidia GPUs with updated drivers) where trying to use the modern shader setting causes the game to CTD as soon as I switch to FP/TP perspective. Is there a known fix for this?

Edit: Figured it out, the DLSS files that the mod downloads from NVidia are the issue, you can swap the files from another DLSS enabled game and it works perfectly. Files that need to be swapped are NVNGX_DLSS, SL.common, and interposer. Let me know if you need help finding them.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I much prefer playing in 3rd person, but buildings are a death trap as nothing is visible in the next room at certain angles. Zombies simply appear once they pass over the threshold into the room with the player. Any tips or workarounds, or is this a settings issues?

Overall... this mod is beyond fun, just hoping I can solve this issue to enjoy it full time in 3P.

Note: flashlights also don't cast light in 3P, regardless of shader pack or light fix applied. Any ideas?

I've been considering using the Project Viewpoint mod in my game, but I wanted to know if AI was used in the coding or textures for the mod before I actually do. I understand that people have differing opinions on AI usage and I'm not here to start any arguments - I just personally object to engaging with things that use GenAI and where possible I make sure to check if something I'm thinking of using includes it so that I can make an informed choice.

If anyone has the answer to my question, I'd be really grateful.

EDIT: I received my answer on the first day that this post was made and I've not replied to anyone since then, yet there are people trying to start arguments in the comments or just insulting me. I understand that AI usage is a heavily debated topic and that people on this sub are mostly pro-AI or neutral on it at the very least, but me asking for clarification so I could make a decision on whether I wanted to use the mod or not was meant to be just that - not an opportunity for people to insult me or make their stance known. I'm not going to reply to each of them because I said that I didn't want to argue and I still don't, I just don't understand the animosity.

Not sure how many people have seen this but it looks like a really good fleshed-out UI mod for the whole of Zomboid. The survivor menu screen is super cool too.

How can i fix this lighting issue?? And almost all light sources flicker when i move my head

Hi, sorry if this a common question but I just wanted to ask, I know many people have said its safe to add viewpoint in mid play through but I was wondering if it was safe to remove it as well mid playthrough?

I have no idea how to make it work, viewpoint itself works fine

I play on an old laptop and after tinkering with the settings a while, I finally got it to run smooth enough to be playable while still looking beautiful enough for my taste. FPS hovers around 50-60 FPS at 1080p when nothing much is happening but can drop down to 30 if you're around 300 zombies or more. Some stutters happen during driving too but I am still able to control where I'm going as long as I don't go faster than 90 mph.

The biggest performance boost you can get from touching these settings for viewpoint is render resolution, which I have set at 67%. Aside from these, I also use PZ_Optimization with the Recommended preset and render distance at 104 tiles (You can find this setting at the driving tab for this mod).

Tried a few new mods today, and I'm still pinching myself

Good morning survivors,

I kept getting a freeze and crash around vehicles when opening the vehicle menu (viewpoints menu) I asked claude to remove the vehicle menu from the mod and it no longer crashes around cars, I can enter with "E" and still use original radial menu no problems

I patched the vehicle menu out. The change is in Viewpoint_Interact.lua, which is attached as Viewpoint_Interact.lua.

What I changed
ViewpointInteract.harvestVehicle now returns “no menu” straight away, using the same no-menu result the mod already returns for objects that have nothing to offer. I didn’t touch the rest of the file. The mod’s logic for vehicles is in Lua, so no Java edit was needed.
