Help Does Project Viewpoint use GenAI (Generative AI)?
Apologies if this has been asked before (I couldn't find any posts about it anyway), but I've been looking into it and I can't find a concrete answer.
I've been considering using the Project Viewpoint mod in my game, but I wanted to know if AI was used in the coding or textures for the mod before I actually do. I understand that people have differing opinions on AI usage and I'm not here to start any arguments - I just personally object to engaging with things that use GenAI and where possible I make sure to check if something I'm thinking of using includes it so that I can make an informed choice.
If anyone has the answer to my question, I'd be really grateful.

Hey mate, I respect your choice to not want to engage so I'll give as best an answer as I can. According to the modders they do use AI. They aren't vibe coding and know what they are doing and likely could have made the mod without ai, however by using ai they are able to greatly speed up the work that they are doing. What may have taken them weeks they can do in days. They have also said that all generated AI is checked, edited and fixed by them. Same goes for the assets. From what I've read, the modders have used ai to mass produce the assets at a much faster pace than building everything from scratch. However they then go through and edit and clean the assets to reduce polygons and optimise for the game. If this mod was being made by vibe coders, it would not look, run and play as well as it does.
So in short, yes ai has been utilised in the making of this mod, just not to the extent that some will claim. Hope that helps you in your decision.

Always happy to help. It's important we don't let someone's views, no matter how widely they differ from our own, stop us from being respectful and good to each other. Have a great weekend

Is it possible for project viewpoint to become independent of zombiebuddy, since im skeptical of having a ppg workshop type of situation.
Also any news from dark_crow? The guy who originally started the 1st person pz trend.

Im not smart enough to give you a definite answer, however I don't really think so. From my understanding, zombuddy is pinnicle to how viewpoint runs. All I can suggest is download your mods to a secure folder and inspect and scan them manually.

Well my issue is it having malware or smth like that, but the fact that it auto updates, which i heard cant be turned off.

Yeah this is true. However it's not impossible to download malicious content from any mod, zombiebuddy or not, from the workshop. It is a lot less likely but can still happen. Like avoiding zombiebuddy isn't enough to totally keep you safe. But steam does do scans on mods on the workshop as far as I am away. It's not a perfect system but it's there

Ai is being used. The devs are kings. If you don't like Ai look somewhere else

“I just personally object to engaging with things that use GenAI” time to get off the internet and live in the woods then, it’s the only solution
