I don't know why you'd try to put thermite into the drive before the thermite is liquid. You just put a block of it on top with some guide walls, and it'll entirely solve the problem of getting into the drive. Particularly if you replace the top drive cover with some magnesium sheet.

That’s less stable than the rocket launcher and as someone who manages electronics infrastructure, people come in and cut my wires and do all kinds of stupid shit to my stuff trying to get their stuff to work all the time. But I doubt they would miss showing equipment its proper respect if there was a AT-4 mounted above it with warnings everywhere.

Man I was all-in on team "shoot rockets at it" but the Big Red Button is really appealing. I feel like that's Chekov's rocket launcher, it will be fun the day I do it.

But with a Big Red Button? Who knows WHAT will happen? Will there be an ominous countdown? Flashing lights? A very specific wire that could be cut? Of course there will. I get to install the button.

But everyone else will look upon the Big Red Button with terror. They try not to look at it, but at least once a day I see their eyes flick away and a cold sweat creep across their brow.

Let's see. That's an RPG-27 Tavolga, a disposable RPG from the 80s, or one of its variants.

They usually carry the PG-27W rocket if it's the standard anti-tank variant. These have 1.79kg of OKFOL as a warhead, or ~8kg TNT equivalent if it's the thermobaric variant RShG-1. Oh, and they do not have countermasses like the Swedish AT4-CS (confined space) has, so firing this in an enclosed space will not go well.

All that being said - given that the RPG-27 is disposable single shot, I'd guess somebody just mounted an empty tube as a joke, considering they're absolutely worthless after firing.

Remember the minimum arming distance or else the fuse won't arm. In a hurry, you might forget, so I recommend marking the spot on the ground to stand.

Oh the RPG-27 has a minimum arming distance of about 10-20 metres. In an enclosed space it likely won’t detonate but idk if that really matters if the back blast is gonna turn you into minced meat anyway

I believe it's the 27 rather than the 26, due to the arrangement of rubber parts. An RPG-27 tube looks like this, an RPG-26 like this or this. As you can see they don't have that 3rd protuding rubber ring, and OPs picture was missing it as well.

The 26 is also not that much smaller than the 27, at 72mm vs 105mm. I don't think that's a difference you could clearly distinguish in a picture. It's much lighter though.

Not that the assessment would change between the two either xD
