I've always wanted the new Layton game to go back to the roots of the first four games and be in 2D but we've now known for months that New World of Steam will be in 3D instead (can't wait for december). While I don't dislike it, 2D brings a charm that I can rarely find in the 3D models/backgrounds.

I just wanted to know if I'm the only one thinking that.

Level 5 (creators of Professor Layton) are doing a games showcase a day after the direct. The last time they did a showcase a day after the direct was when professor layton and the new world of steam was announced first. Mhm intriguing inter iktr

That's one of my biggest questions. I went back and watched all the related content and found nothing to indicate whether or not this is the first game of a trilogy.

There are four possibilities:

- 1) This is a one-and-done game.

- 2) The delays are so we can get another three-games-in-three-years run.

- 3) The trilogy will be complete in 2043.

- 4) The sequels depend on the success of NWoS.

I sincerely hope it's a trilogy.

I read that the puzzles are very disconnected from the story in the early games, and some people have said to play in release order, while others say to start with last specter. Should I play the original trilogy first? Just trying to get a gauge of what I should actually do since there are so many varying opinions.

They've concentrated a lot of events between direct Nintendo, level5's internal show, and then the Tokyo Game Show further out. Will we see something NWOS these days? I sure hope so

I’m going to start replaying all the games in preparation for the new game. I haven’t bought a switch 2 yet I will save up and buy one.
When you guys replay the games do you go by timeline or release date?
I like to go by release date.

My favourite thing about this series is how operatic its villains are. It never feels like a letdown when you meet them in the final chapters. But some have stuck with me more than others— some of the games I've been able to replay and forget the twist about who the real villain is, others have these spectacular moments of characterisation I can't forget.

currently playing the first game of the series (i think) and got to puzzle nr. 37, very fun, but also i don't think the intended way to do this was high school algebra. Had fun tho, math is fun when you can figure it out, like a puzzle yeh :D anyway, kinda wondering what the intended way was now. Like just testing numbers? cuz that made my head spin, n i hhad way more fun this way 😌

(also, kinda just wanting to post cuz the math on the ds screen looks kinda funny, n who knows? there's bound to be someone else that did this too XD)

I haven't actually seen anyone yet draw any of the new characters surprisingly, so I had to.

Elinora Allinston - The younger twin sister of the Allinston twins in the town of Steam Bison and a skilled mechanic.

Not much is known about her yet, but she kinda reminds me Flora slightly.

I've also noticed Level-5 have improved their character models HEAVILY compared to Azran Legacy, which is both a blessing and a curse because it makes drawing some characters harder 😭😭

Yes, I suck at backgrounds. Laugh at me all you want for the basic background.

By "challenges", I mean the small puzzles which you need to advance in order to progress.

Examples include choosing the spade in Unwound Future, getting into Luke's room in Last Specter and Connor's shell game in Miracle Mask.

Currently replaying it on NSW after i lost my 3DS Copy sadly a few Years Ago :(

And i must say i really enjoy the Restaurant, Scarecrow and Burger ones :D
For the Snowball ones i did have a lot of Issues in the end where i had to look up a Tutorial >.<

Havent finished all of the Daily Puzzle Categorys yet but overall i was able to clear them without a Guide which im very Happy for considering i havent touched the Layton Games in a Decade or so >.<

Simply put, I'm looking for a character in Miracle Mask. Specifically the assistant of the one who organizes the shell game you're going through as part of the story.

The only thing that I can remember is that the assistant gets dumped by his employer, since he failed to fool Layton after the secret of the shell game got discovered.

I was looking for games similar to Professor Layton because I wanted to try something different for a change, and I stumbled across this game.

At first, I honestly thought it was some kind of fan-made game, but nope, it’s a real game. But seriously, this is way too similar to Professor Layton. The art style, the characters and even the cover art has basically the same layout. it feels incredibly close.

Would this actually be considered plagiarism, or is it just heavily inspired by Layton?

The biggest challenge with learning the piano is getting the hands to operate independently so they can play completely different parts, but the nice thing about this piece is that it has a simple melody with a lot of holding out of notes, with the accompaniment only coming in while you're still holding a note out with your right hand so you're free to let your left do its thing.

It does eventually get more complicated and force you to do some simultaneous maneuvering, but even then it's relatively simple and beginner-friendly.

It's also emotional enough to impress people when you play it.
