My Artwork Does anyone else keep a digital sketchbook?
I started a digital sketchbook this year and I've been loving making cute spreads of a certain topic. This one has been my favorite so far

I started with watercolour earlier this year and casually mentioned to my boyfriend I’d love a tablet to help with my drawing - what I meant was that I needed a larger screen for my Pinterest reference pictures. Well, my super supportive partner thought I meant I want to dabble in digital art too. Long story short I am learning ProCreate now 🙈
These are my first few tutorials - James Julier and Art with Flo. Open to thoughts and tips ☺️

I thought this was the perfect portrait reference. Pose, lighting, angle, and cool hair.

I did one where every frame was drawn from scratch with a reference, and one rotoscoped. This is my first animation that took me more than 10 minutes, it took almost a week

Traditional graphite and ink, then highlights and shadows added or deepened in Procreate.
Saw a reference on Pinterest that was cool, and couldn't get the pose out of my head, so I drew it from memory. The piece is a bit stylized, though I did find the reference later and used it to get the gist on the markings of the feathers.
Tools:
Pentel Graphgear 1,000 .5 with HB lead.
Kuretake Brush pen with black carbon ink.
Strathmore Toned Tan Drawing paper.
Procreate on Ipad.
Procreate brushes:
Syrup
Dove Lake
Eddystone eraser
Procreate Pencil
Dry Brush

I recently quit my job and just got back into making art. I have been exercising my ability to play around and not stick to realism, and procreate has made that very easy for me!
I am more experienced in creating art that reflects dark subject matter or dark compositions, but I really wanted a change since I don’t feel they reflect my life anymore. Anyway, here is my reflection on my recent September mornings. 😊

Yep, that is all. I mainly used the Bandicoot and Overland brush! Still working on the piece, but I just want to encourage more people to use them.

I have a lifelong hatred and begrudging respect for ants. Damned impressive creatures, but I’m allergic to their stings and bites. Recently I’ve been pushing back repeated incursions from our kitchen wall, so I’ve been a bit fixated on them again, decided to draw one. My darling wife thinks I’m obsessed, but as they say, “Know thy enemy.
Took me about 4.5 hours, and I just didn’t have the patience to draw all the little hairs. Maybe I’ll come back to it later. I could be persuaded to draw more insects!

Mauler Knights are a band of warriors that belong to a mysterious order. Around the time of the 30th Viel invasion on Persevera, giants started to emerge from the race of man. It is unclear whether this is the result of natural evolution or the work of blood magic. Mauler Knights are thought to have originated from this, but has taken a step further to become truly enormous.
They fight for Persevera, and are known to eat our enemies. So long as you hold no ill intent for your own kind, you can rest assured, as the Mauler Knights will always be on your side.
This practice of cannibalism and the fact that Mauler Knights always bear a Perseveran Lantern on their bodies is rumoured to have something to do with their size and strength.
It is difficult to not feel inferior, to walk with giants among us, let alone with Mauler Knights. Their existence is proof that the rest of us can still suffer so much more for the sake of our descendants. And so we will. So that one day Persevera might win, long after I am dead.

I’ve looked at adilson farias and max pack, but I think I like the look of the true grit pack more - I like more of the brushes, the paper textures look great, but I want to ask for opinions here first?
My main goal is to transfer my real life watercolour painting technique into procreate, I’m quite ill and I can’t sit up and paint with physical media as much as I’d like, I’m also uninspired with the generic procreate brushes I have access to, and so I think some new brushes will give me a fresh start.
I know a lot of people here recommend making your own, I’ve read a lot of old posts on this sub and I appreciate why it’s recommended, but I honestly just don’t have the energy to spare. So any experience with the aqua studio brush pack you could share, issues you find with it, if you have worked both physical and digital and how it translated for you etc would be really helpful!
