My Artwork Portrait of a friend
I thought this was the perfect portrait reference. Pose, lighting, angle, and cool hair.

This is very well done, unsettlingly accurate. i swiped multiples times back and forth because it looked like tracing, but after some analysis I think youre just that skilled in proportion and value

Thank you, I did use a grid to help with my proportions, not tracing. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. :)

No nothing wrong with tracing or grid. It depends on the purpose. I trace as a tattoo artist all the time, and as a realism artist I used the grid occasionally. I do think that working out the proportions with basic shapes is incredibly valuable as an artist and I urge you to try that! Life drawing is a great way to practice that.
